Batch ‘78: Always And Forever
Summary
A story of how Wyen Evans met, be-friended, loved and left the Marauders. This is a long fic about the Marauders and how they met and made an impact on the First Wizarding War. The fic focuses on the friendship they made as they were in Hogwarts and how that, along with the main character’s fate, led to them fighting in the War. The main character ends up with someone but I’m not telling you who and it's an incredibly slow burn. Also, this fic is non canon compliant.   DISCLAIMER: I do not support JKR and her horrendous mindset.

“Always and forever.”

The words would play over and over again in her head as death chased after her.

She didn’t know how everything came to this. Because she can still hear the laughter of her friends after a night full of mischief and friendship. She can still smell the fresh air laced with the scent of coffee and newly-baked bread, one that she grew to love as she stayed inside the walls of her godmother’s house. She can still see the dark silhouettes of her friends as they stayed under the September sky and feel their arms around her as they reminded her of who was there, always and forever.

Except they’re not there anymore.

Their own demise ran after them and striked them one by one. And now, her own was eager to reach her and pull her down. She can hear their laugh and their voice as they taunt her and call her name. Whenever she would look back, she’d see their face and the sinister look in their eyes that was so unfamiliar to her. It looked too out of place, too different from the soft hazel eyes that always comforted her before.

Wyen can fight them and they both knew it. She can strike the traitor down and repeatedly curse them and take out the pain of betrayal that continued to squeeze her heart. But she was already weak and her mind was clouded and confused with the new information she just received.

Tears filled Wyen’s already swollen eyes as her hair stuck to her skin. She gripped her wand with her right arm, ignoring the stinging caused by the stab from earlier. She continued to run and dodge the spells that were coming after her, muttering protection charms that helped her cheat death for now.

This is not how she imagined her end would be like.

She has always thought about her death, planned it and fantasized about it. In her dreams, she was with him after an entire lifetime of loving each other. They have finished building their legacy, raising their children and giving each other love that they would bring even to their next life. They would be under a tree, one that they built after their first child was born, and laid side by side with their hands intertwined under the blankets.

Then she would close her eyes and drift away to another life where she would find him again and love him unconditionally.

But instead of sunny days and eternal love, she was about to die at the age of twenty-two, running from a friend who she once trusted. Raindrops fell from the sky as if they understood how Wyen felt and sympathized with her.

If only I knew better and trusted myself more than him.

Wyen looked back once more and found herself alone. Her gaze darted from side to side and chills ran down her spine, realizing how exposed she truly is. She looked around as she readied a spell in her head.

“WYEN EVANS!” she heard them call. “FACE ME! FACE YOUR DEATH, YOU BLOODY COWARD!”

A soft sigh escaped Wyen’s mouth as she tried to think it through. Twenty-two years is less than enough for a woman like her. Twenty-two years would have not been lived in vain if only she knew it all sooner.

Flaming red met the calm dark sky. Fear faced evil and lips stretched into a smirk. Death was no longer chasing Wyen for it had already found her.

It wrapped it’s long, cold fingers around her shaking body and opened its mouth to devour her soul.

And she waited there, watching her life flash before her like a swift vision that wouldn’t stop.

And she was reminded of how everything came out to be for her, Wyen Evans, the girl who was killed by her own gifts.

The girl who was destined to win or doom a war she never wanted.

The girl who will be loved and remembered.. Always and forever.
