‘Hello Mr. Malfoy and Professor Flitwick.’
‘Ms. Weasley, come in. Let's look at your parchment. Do you have any questions before we start?’
‘I'm not sure yet. I think I have heard of the Rookwood's but not much. Do you know them?’ She asks Mr. Malfoy.
‘I have met the Rookwood's a time or two. But I wouldn't say I know them well.’
‘Oh, that makes sense. I wonder what they think of all this.
‘I will owl them personally.’
‘Thank you, Mr. Malfoy, Draco always tells me how thoughtful you are.’
‘Does he?’
She nods, ‘he was there after I learned from dad that I was adopted, it was a difficult day.’
‘I'm glad you weren't alone. Everyone needs support in trying times. Are you and Draco close?’
Ginny shrugs while avoiding Lucius' eyes.
‘Alright, Miss Weasley. A few things before you can go. First you can write a letter to both sets of parents that we can send tonight with the notice informing them of these developments. Weekends are now available for parents and students to visit either here or in Hogsmeade through the rest of term in an effort to ease into any transitions. You will be included in the decision about where to live but nothing will be decided until things are more settled.’
‘I understand. Give me a few moments and I will have those letters. Thank you for explaining things. Do you think I could get a note to Draco? I think he might be worried.’
‘Of course. Take your time.’
Dad,
My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rookwood. I don't know much about them, but I am hoping you will be there when I meet them. I hope you are well despite everything going on. I can't wait to see you.

I recently learned I was adopted. The school decided to test everyone with the heritage potion and my results listed you. I thought I would take the time to introduce myself. My name is Ginevra Weasley. What had you originally named me? I was raised as the youngest of 7 and the only daughter. Do you have any other children? I am in my 5th year and O. W. L. year is a little more challenging than I was prepared for. I love to play quidditch but none of my brothers wanted to teach me. In the end I snuck their brooms and taught myself. I am a Gryffindor, but the sorting hat mentioned that I might enjoy Slytherin, at the time I was a little concerned with what my family would think, mum-molly would always say negative things about them so I worried she would not be happy. My dad - Arthur is and always has been supportive of me and all my siblings. I hope we can all have a nice conversion about things going forward. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you both.

Your dad was with Prof Flitwick when I came into the room to discuss everything. He seemed nice. I asked them to pass this note along because you looked worried when I saw you across the Great Hall before everyone left. I am ok. I will tell you everything in the morning. See you before breakfast?

‘Thank you both again. I better go, there was still quite a line behind me and I'm sure everyone is anxious about what is happening next.’

Ginny walks through the halls at a steady pace, not too hurried because she knows once she reaches the common room everyone will be asking questions. Her mind runs through everything that happened that evening. She knew she was adopted but what does it mean to be a Rookwood? How will they react to the news? Will they like her? What about the family she was raised with? Her dad said most of her brothers were adopted as well. Though lost in thought, Ginny was still aware of her surroundings. Someone was walking toward her at a brisk pace, looking around Ginny saw Colin and his brother Denis headed her way.
‘How did it go?’ She asks them both.
Denis answers first while Colin has a contemplative look on his face. ‘I got to write a letter to our parents, but I didn't want to write another letter yet. I couldn't think of anything to say to someone I only knew in class.’
Ginny nods her head and looks to Colin.
‘I met my dad Gin. He was so happy to meet me.’
‘That's great Colin.’
‘I'm worried about my mum though.’
‘Why?’
‘He said she needs to be watched because she took my disappearance badly. I don't know how bad.’
‘Oh, that doesn't sound good.’
‘I hope she will come visit often so I can get to know her. I may need to move in there sooner rather than later. I'm not sure how well she will do if I'm not around, but dad said Denis can visit whenever because we are still brothers.’
‘That's great Colin. I hope things go smoothly. We all have a lot of adjustments to prepare for.’
They said the password to the fat lady and entered the common room.
Upon entering Lyra walks up to Ginny and hugs her. ‘How are you?’
The Creevey's walk over to their friends after waving to Ginny.
‘I'm alright. Just a lot to process.’
‘Who are your parents? If you don't mind me asking.’
‘The Rookwood's? Mr. Malfoy was there when I went to discuss my results. I'm not sure how I feel about it all yet, but I wrote them and dad a letter.’
‘That's good Gin. Do you wanna sit out here or go up to the dorms?’
‘I think I want to lay down for a bit. I need time to process everything.’
‘Of course. Oh, before I forget Drake asked to meet you before breakfast for a morning fly.’
With a nod and a smile Ginny begins to climb the stairs to her room.

As each student leaves their meeting with the teacher and board member, they are given a slight calming draft mixed with a time activated sleeping serum. Snacks and drinks appear in each common room after dinner to help the students relax and help everyone get the needed sleeping serum. The elves know who didn't drink theirs and bring a small snack to those people. At precisely midnight Poppy activates the sleep serum, and each head enters their designated house. They oversee the administration of all vaccines for those young enough to receive them. Then they leave their students to sleep with the hope that the next day goes smoothly.

Please aparate into Hogsmeade and walk to the school gates. We will complete the heritage spell once you meet your child to ensure validity. We are anticipating a lot of parents so please be patient while we work to reunite everyone.

Please hold this parchment with anyone planning to visit the school firmly any time between 8 am and 4 pm and state the password listed. This will bring you directly to Hogsmeade the small town outside the school. You may fall when you land but this is normal. A staff member will be there to assist you. We will complete the heritage spell once you meet your child to ensure validity. We are anticipating a lot of parents so please be patient while we work to reunite everyone.
If you do not wish to travel in this way, we understand but this is the most efficient way to travel. If you prefer not to visit, please owl your child so that they are aware you received this notice.
