Chapter 33
Draco was able to rest comfortably in Severus' office space. He had not wanted to go the Slytherin dorm rooms, not yet. He wanted his return to startle Blaise. He was more than livid that Blaise had interfered, and of all things had gotten the Weasley's to enter the picture. He could have picked any pureblood family and yet that was the ones that he had chosen? Then there was the matter of how exactly he had managed it, something which Draco knew was going to agitate him when he figured it out. He was angry, and Blaise would face the fury of a Malfoy on the path of vengence.
It had not been his place. Draco knew that others would feel grateful in his position, should he have been another family, in another time, and another place, perhaps he would be grateful that he was temporarily freed of his father. He was not, however, and Blaise had made a vast miscalculation. Draco was not another person. At the very least, he would have wanted the italian to talk to him before taking things into his own hands. Respecting him as a friend, as a Malfoy, as a Family Heir, and yet none of that had happened. He had taken matters into his own hands, without thinking of what could have happened to Draco had his plans failed, or even what Draco wanted in response to the matter.
Draco was livid with him. Furthermore, he had not wanted his father to go to Azkaban. Perhaps others may find it stupid, but Draco knew his father better than anyone. Yes, his father was cruel, cold hearted, and a vile man and father, but at the same time, he had his moments. He knew he had his moments, and Draco himself was well aware that even if he hwas sent to Azkaban he would find a way out again. Not to mention Auntie Bella and Mother were there with him? It was only a matter of time. Blaise had sent his father to prison without thinking of the consequences it could have on him. When his father got out he would definitely not be pleased. Not to mention, despite trying, Draco could not bring himself to enjoy the fact that his father was missing, was gone. He was plagued with the worry of what would happen when he returned, because Draco knew that his father would return, it was just a matter of when. He was too worried of how his father would view the entire situation to really enjoy himself. not to mention, everything was so different now. He was expected to be different, to act different. Behave in a different manner, one that was not befitting of a Malfoy, or made him comfortable. He would much rather follow the rules that his father had laid down for him than try and fight them. It was so much easier, and yet that choice was swiftly taken from him with Blaise shoving his family into prison without a second thought.
Yes, Blaise deserved the vengance that was coming his way, and nothing could make Draco figure differently. Not to mention, who the hell knew what was going to happen to him when his father found out Blaise was the one who had tipped the ministry off. Or at the very least, helped tip the ministry off. Draco not only had to worry about what his father would do to him, but now he had to try and make sure that this whole situation would not end with Blaise getting killed, and his entire family as well, or worse, disowned from the family. It was the worst thing that could happen to a Family Heir. Either one was liable to happen now considering Blaise had been an idiot and more of a gryffindor than Draco had ever seen him be in one moment.
He understood that perhaps his friend had meant well. He knew that everyone was concerned for his health and well being. Especially considering the joy that his father took in magical curses. He understood what Blaise had been trying to do. He got that and he could understand the hopes that Blaise had that this could free him of his father's claws, and that he would be able to be in a better mental and physical state, and yet...that was not what had happened. Furthermore, despite the fact that Draco may understand what Blaise had been attempting to do, he had not given his permission to let it happen. Perhaps that was why he had tried so hard to hide it, and keep it under wraps. Either way, Draco was angry with him. There should have been no situation in which Blaise usurped his authority. Especially regarding his own family. He had been handling things as they should have been, and now he was put in a position were he had to worry about not just his life, but his friends as well. Who knew if Blaise had attempted to implicate other people. The fact that he had thought that he knew what was best for Draco and proceeded to act accordingly without even consulting him irritated him.
There was no need for it, and it was entirely uncalled for. Draco may understand and even respect what it was that his best friend was trying to do for him, but Blaise still needed to be punished for acting out of his bounds. He clearly thought had way too much power than he actually did to dare dip himself into his family affairs, and it was not to Draco's liking. Draco was not happy about it, at all, and Blaise needed to be taught a lesson.
It hurt Draco, to realize that his best friend had betrayed him, but he refused to allow these things to continue. He would make sure that everyone in Slytherin knew that you did not try and sideline a Malfoy, no matter who you were. It was not allowed, and Draco would ensure that nobody would dare attempt to pull a stunt like this again.
