Small Corner in Paris
Summary
James and Sirius were sent to Paris on a "business trip" for James' dad. Instead of a business opportunity, they find a tiny restaurant, whose owner and waiter catch the eyes of the two brothers. The only problem, if they do manage to win over the people they are pining for, they only have one month in Paris before they have to leave on a plane back to England.
Note
Hi! This is a story of James and Sirius crushing on Lily and Remus...obviously.This fic contains everyones fav headcannon of Sirius being able to speak French...the only problem is I don't know shit about French. So I tried my best and at the end of the chapter I will have, what I hope is accurate, translations to the French used in that chapter. This is also a shorter story because I'm in college rn and so I'm rushing all my writing, hopefully it's still decent though!

Sirius was peacefully sleeping in Remus' bed, tucked securely underneath the covers.

Remus had gotten up awhile ago to get ready for work. He sat fully dressed at the edge of the bed next to Sirius, smiling down at the way his eyelashes slightly fluttered against his cheeks as he dreamed. He shook Sirius' shoulder to wake him up. "Hey." Sirius grinned up at him, "I have to go to work."

Sirius nodded and pulled Remus down to kiss him. While Remus went in for a small peck, Sirius had other plans. Running his fingers up the side of his face and into his hair, kissing him deeply and diving his tongue into the small opening Remus' lips left.

"Mmm." Remus groaned but pulled away, only for Sirius to push his shirt over his head and throw it to the floor.

"Tu portes trop de vêtements." Sirius kissed his neck, lapping over his bare skin, and slowly working his way down over his chest.

"Because I have to go to work." Remus' words protested but he was leaning into Sirius, gripping his thighs.

Sirius continued to kiss at his neck and chest. He moved his hand down and unzipped and buttoned his jeans, "James will be there to help Lily..." he reached into his pants and grabbed onto him, smirking at the hardness, and began to lightly stroke him, "They don't need you right now..." Sirius kissed right below his ear and whispered huskily into it, "but I do."

Remus groaned and kissed Sirius hard, pushing him back onto the bed and hovering over him. Sirius' stroking had ceased in order to be able to pull Remus out of the rest of his clothes.

Remus pulled back again, trying his best to look stern, and miserably failing, "Sirius-"

"Do you want me to stop?" Sirius interrupted him, he leaned in close, "If you want me to stop I will." Their breathing was heavy and Remus couldn't take the tension anymore.

"God please don't stop."

Sirius crashed his lips against his, finally pulling Remus out of the rest of his clothes. Then it was Sirius' turn to pull away and take off the boxers that he had been sleeping in.

"Side table." Remus muttered as he kissed behind Sirius' ear, grinding against him. Sirius groaned and moved slightly to retrieve the lube and and condoms from the drawer in the side table. After grabbing said supplies, Sirius prepped them both while Remus kissed all over his body and spoke hotly to him, "Fuck Sirius." He kissed the hollow of his neck, "Je veux le faire depuis que je t'ai vu entrer dans le restaurant pour la première fois."

Sirius moaned and threw his head back against the pillow as Remus gave him a love bite on the spot where his neck and shoulder meet. "Tu me rends fou, Lupin."

Remus moved his hands from where they were bracing besides Sirius' head down to his hips, moving them slightly up causing Sirius to bend at his knees. He leaned down and brought their lips together as he pressed slowly into him.

A string of curse words rolled off Sirius' tongue, a mix of both French and English. When Remus was fully settled, he looked down at him, breathing heavy, "Are you okay?"

"Gods yes! Please don't fucking stop." The words escaped his mouth as moans and he held onto Remus tighter as Remus began to move inside him.

They moved in sync. Breathing in each other's words of praise slipping off one tongue and onto the other.

Neither was sure how long they lasted, but they knew that Remus was definitely late for work. Remus was hovering over Sirius as they exchanged languid kisses, playing in each other's hair and tracing the curves of the other's body with their fingertips.

"I really have to go into work." Remus said quietly.

Sirius kissed him lightly, "Okay." and kissed him again.

Remus rolled off of Sirius and walked over to his table where his phone was, not bothering to put on clothes, not that Sirius' minded. "I sent Lily a message and bought myself enough time to shower. Figure if I'm going to be late I might as well be clean."

He walked over to the bathroom door and turned back to see Sirius playing with the edge of his blanket, looking at him with adoring eyes. Remus smiled at him, "Well?" He nodded toward the shower, "You coming or what?"

Sirius practically skipped into the bathroom.

Lily and Peter were crammed into the tiny kitchen while James was filling out some kind of paperwork when Remus rushed in (extremely late) with Sirius following slowly behind with a smirk on his face.

"Glad you decided to show up." Lily yelled as she walked out of the kitchen with a sweaty brow and a towel over her shoulder. She looked over at Sirius, and the hickeys on his neck with a knowing grin, "Wonder what kept you?" She quipped sarcastically.

Sirius winked...and winced a little as he sat down next to James, who laughed through his nose.

"Sorry..." Remus mumbled as he tied on his apron, but he really wasn't at all.

Lily came up to him and untied his apron, "You don't need that. We're not open today."

"What? Why?"

James snorted and turned to Sirius, "Christ Sirius. You were with him all night and this morning and you didn't tell him?"

Sirius shrugged, "We were busy." Remus walked behind him, kissing his temple and rubbing his back as his did, sending shivers down Sirius' spine.

"What's going on then?" Remus asked.

James stood (mostly to go stand over by Lily, but slapping Remus on the back as he went that way) "We have a wedding to attend."

Two days later, The Phoenix Cafe catered the McKinnon Meadowes wedding. It was a beautiful one too. Marlene wore a perfectly tailored white suit while Dorcas wore a simple, white, silk gown. When the officiant pronounced them married, they shared a long, passionate kiss, Dorcas dipping Marlene slightly, running one hand through her hair.

James and Sirius happily helped the cafe staff with dinner and other refreshments, until they got to the end of the night when the food was all passed out and all they had to do was have fun.

Marlene and Dorcas kissed, danced, and laughed all night. They talked the ears off of all their guests, and thanked Lily profusely for the amazing food. At one point, Lily caught Marlene sending James a secret wink...that's when she pieced it all together, sending her heart into a flurry.

James was clearing up all the gear that they had brought when Lily walked up to him. He looked up and smiled widely at her, watching her with loving eyes.

"Care to dance?" She held eye contact and bumped their shoulders together.

He turned fully to face her, "What makes you so sure that I even know how?"

She said nothing but took his hand in hers, pulling him onto the dance floor...he happily followed. When they reached the center, James put one hand on her hip, holding her close, and grabbed a hold of her hand with the other. Lily's spare hand wrapped around the back of his neck, her fingers grazing his skin.

"They're sweet, aren't they?" James gestured over to where Peter and Lisa were dancing. He was swinging her widely around the dance floor in attempt to hide the fact that he was quite a horrid dancer and had zero ideas of what to do with his body, but she didn't mind. She laughed as he spun her around, her eyes only leaving his when they closed from smiling too hard.

"I'm glad he found her. Pete was always the more shy and reserved one, especially around girls. He would always get fidgety and nervous, which made him really insecure, but Lisa always found it adorable. She's his person."

When Lily spoke the last words, James' eyes shot down to look at her. James was always going, always running around, always forgetting to just sit down for a second to appreciate the beauty around him...but he never stopped appreciating Lily's.

She turned away from the other couple, catching James in the act of admiring her, "The original caterer didn't back out last minute, did they?"

"No, they didn't." He removed his hand from her hip for a split second to push a strand of hair out of her face, "But Marlene owed me a favor from way back." He put his hand back to the place on her waist where it had been, pulling her closer than she had been before...she moved with him.

"Why are you so keen on helping me, Potter?" Her voice was barely a whisper, laced with gratitude and a hint of tears.

"A couple of reasons," He whispered back to her.

"And they are?"

He smiled, "It's something my mum would do. She likes helping people when they are need of some and I'm always trying to be more like her. It's a grand little place, and I'd hate for it to be gone one day. And uh-" he looked directly into Lily's vibrant green eyes, "You love it. And I don't ever want to see you sad, I think that's probably my least favorite thing ever."

"Seeing me sad?" She asked quietly and he nodded, "You care an awful lot about me considering you've only known me for a month."

He could've made a joke, or an overly confident pick up line of some kind, but instead he gave her hand a squeeze, "I think you're something worth caring over."

Lily looked up at him, eyes misty and a small smile on her face. He found himself comparing her to all the beautiful things in life. Her freckles were like the constellations in a night sky. Small dots that are nice to look at alone, but together they map out a beautiful story, and paint a stunning picture. Her hair reminded him of Autumn leaves, when they are in their prime. Transforming the city they live in completely, making everything more pleasant than it had been previously. And her eyes, god her eyes. They were every mossy forest. Forests that little girls run around in, in search of fairies and unicorns, the magical kinds of forests. The green that seems to cover the world after a rainstorm, cleansing everything and making it new. All these beautiful things that he could compare her to, and she out-shined all of them.

He wanted to kiss her, he could've kissed her, hell he probably should've kissed her, but he would wait. He was going to wait until The Phoenix was saved, until she was blissfully happy without the fear of losing her favorite place clawing at her. So instead of kissing her, he pulled her against his chest and she rested her head on his shoulder. They danced like that they rest of the night.

Remus and Sirius were dancing in a similar fashion to Lily and James, but instead of happy and content, Remus was on the verge of tears. He had spent nearly everyday of the past month with Sirius, learning everything about the other boy and falling for him. With all the pure giddiness he had been feeling, he had forgotten. Forgotten that it was all going to be over. He had forgotten until Sirius kissed his jaw, looking at him passionately and whispered, "I'm so glad I met you on this trip, Remus." Now they were dancing, and Remus was holding back tears.

Sirius pulled his head away from Remus' neck, feeling his tears splash on his cheeks, "Remus? Love, what's wrong?"

Remus swallowed, "You leave in two days."

Sirius hadn't realized. He had been so distracted by the tall handsome bloke he was dancing with that he completely forgotten that he had a life and a job back in England...and a plane to catch in two days.

Suddenly, he was also on the verge of crying, "Okay but uh-" he was trying desperately to bring the mood up, with little success, "I can visit you know. I can come to Paris and see you, and we can text and call and video chat and-"

Remus was shaking his head, "I know but it won't be the same. I won't be able to see you or kiss you everyday I- I'm gonna miss you, stupid."

Sirius cupped his cheeks and kissed him, a small peck, but it meant the world to both of them. "Fuck I'll miss you too. I don't want to leave you I- what are we even still doing here? Let's leave, okay? Let's go back to yours or- or just walk around or something. I just want to be alone with you."

Remus kissed him hard, relishing the feeling and the moment. They left almost immediately after. For a little bit they walked around the city, but eventually they needed more, so they want back to Remus' studio.

It wasn't rushed, frantic, or rough. They went slow, taking in every breath, every noise, every movement, and every feeling of their bodies pressed together and acting as one.

They laid together the rest of the night, tracing fingers along each other's skin and pressing kisses to necks and temples. Sirius didn't mind the fact that he cried into Remus' chest, because Remus cried into his hair. They were something special- and Sirius knew that even from England, he would fight for and be 100% committed to this man, but the fight didn't have to start for another two days, so he was just going to lay with him until then.

The next night, the restaurant stayed closed in celebration of the fact that in the next few weeks, with the new traffic they were receiving, the restaurant will be saved and 100% Lily's.

Marlene and Dorcas came by the join the party, and for old times sake, James bought two of the most expensive bottles of wine. They got slightly tipsy and ended up drawing a mustache onto Peter, and Sirius sat on Remus' lap while he kissed at his neck casually throughout the night.

"Oh! Let me see if I still have that picture of old Dumbli. Sirius you will absolutely love him!"

With the presence of Pete's new sharpie mustache, they began to drunkenly talk about facial hair, which reminded Lily of how outrages Albus Dumbledore's beard was.

"Check the table, it might be there. The last couple days of mail is there too." Remus spoke from where his nose buried into the nape of Sirius' neck, hands running comfortingly along his thighs.

Lily went over to the table and rummaged through the mail. When she picked up a specific envelope, her smile faded just a little. She quickly covered up her faltered face, but James took notice and began to watch her imploringly.

She opened up the envelope and as she read its contents, her face dropped completely and James could see her eyes prick up with tears.

"Evans?" James asked, but everyone turned their attention to her.

Her voice and hands shook, "The uh- this plot of land has been sold and because I haven't paid of building, they'll be tearing it down next week and there's nothing I can do to stop them. I- it's over. There's nothing I can do. The Phoenix is finished."

Everyone went quiet. James went over to comfort her but she quickly grabbed her things and left, leaving the rest of them alone in a building that would only be standing for a few more days.
