Everyone is deciding to go to a Christmas party at the Byers, what can happen? The group gathers in the kitchen, grabbing forks, knifes and drinks. Eleven is one of three last people to grab a plate, she watches as Steve cuts the turkey, no one really pays attention to him, he accidentally cuts his finger, he groans and gets a bandaid. She sees the blood, quick flashes of the lab and the massacre flash through her head, everyone is grabbing some turkey, Mike taps her shoulder, snapping her out of her trance. She looks at him, she then grabs her small slice of turkey and sits down at the table, she never really liked turkey and now after seeing the blood her appetite is ruined..
after everyone is done eating she puts her plate up, her eyes linger on the knife, still in the what’s left of the turkey. She blinks a few times, then walks over to the couch to watch a movie, they watch Star Wars. Shes never seen it but Mike has been asking her to watch it for a long time.
After a while she watches as Darth Vader chokes another person with his powers, Eleven gets another flash of the lab in her mind, she breathes a little bit harder.
Mike looks over at her, “El? Are you alright?”
She snaps out of her thoughts, “yeah I’m just- watching the tv.”
they go back to watching Star Wars. Eleven lets out a shaky breath, still watching the show.
after a while the kids start to slowly filter out of the house.
