Memories
The Camp Fam watch Darius stowaways on the plane. Ben suggests that they go after him and the group agrees, that is, everyone but Kenji, who just isn't having it.
"If you want to go risk your someone who lied to us and continues to lie to us then go ahead but I'm not going to be part of it" Kenji replied bitterly.
"Look, Kenji, I get she lied about being alive and didn't tell you, but you don't have to go being a JACKASS about it!" Ben replied bluntly.
"Rich coming from the guy who helped her do it!" Kenji shot back, getting more heated.
"Boys, ENOUGH! If we are going with Darius, then we need to decide, RIGHT. NOW!" Yaz said, pointing to the cargo plane that was almost finished being loaded up.
"FINE, But only because 1. We are literally in the middle of nowhere and 2. We have LITERALLY no choice." Kenji replied, rolling his eyes.
The Camp Fam then manage to stowaway on the plane, too, without no one noticing. They then join Darius in his hiding spot on the plane.
"Hey Dino Nerd, Got room for a few more?" Yaz says, as everyone sits down.
Darius smiles and is then lost in thought yet again, as he continues to recall all the old memories of him and Brooklynn. Even thought he might of told Kenji one thing, it wasn't entirely true.
The fact is....He was always in love with Brooklynn, though, he never allowed himself to feel that way or even understood it at the time. It took him having her to himself for that entire week for him to TRULY understand how he REALLY felt about her. Even if, he might have screwed it up when he let it slip about him loving her and then backtracking about it. But if there was even a chance, a chance for him to save her, a chance for him to at least be friends with her again, he would take it, even if, he already was.
The group try to get comfortable in the cargo plane, but the fact is....
.....there is still tension in the air, between everyone.
The Group had lost trust in each other, but mainly in Ben.
"Ben, can I ask, why? Why didn't you say anything the moment you figured out she was alive? What stopped you?" Sammy questioned, breaking the groups awkward silence.
"It's not that I didn't WANT to tell you guys, because believe me I wanted to, but It's that she asked me not to say anything and I trusted that she knew what she was doing. I....I never meant for anyone to get hurt, I swear!" Ben replied sadly, starting to shed a tear.
"BUT WE DID, WE DID GET HURT! THAT'S THE POINT!" Kenji again replied bitterly.
"I'll do anything to make it up to you guys, I swear." Ben replied, as quietness again overtook the air.
Darius chooses to stay silent in all of this, not wanting to honestly get involved, not because of what sharp, hard-hitting words he might say to his friend, but because he knows Ben is only human, and he makes mistakes, too. Not that it justifies what he did, of course. He realizes that no matter what messed up things **ANYONE** might do, it shouldn't define their character. Ben was still his friend and Darius still cared about him. So, Darius decides to do the one thing the entire group hadn't done in days, sleep. Little did Darius know, he was in for a surprise.
Darius' dream takes him back to the night when he arrived where Brooklynn told him to meet him and as he sees the blood, he is reminded by the argument Kenji and him had when he told everyone that she was gone.
Then everything goes dark and he sees Brooklynn, with her bleeding limb, saying the words similar to that of the of the unsent video, "You said you'd be here." then Darius is cornered by the Atrocioraptors and the Allosaurus and as they were about to pounce on him, he gets stabbed in the chest by a knife, at to which point he's on the floor, bleeding out and then, he wakes up.
Thankfully, no one noticed him not being able to sleep, or the fact he got up so....abruptly. This wasn't the first time he'd had this nightmare. True, it would be different but it always ended the same. This was the same reason why he would constantly watch the news coverage from the day they got on the mainland from spending nearly a year stuck on Nublar. That one thing is what helped him sleep at night and would stop the nightmares. In reality, sleep was impossible without it.
So, Darius completely gives up on the idea of sleep, and stays focused, regardless of his state of mind, and how tired he may be. After all, all that matter now, was saving Brooklynn from herself and the mess she got herself into.
