His wand flew out of his hand as soon as her spell connected, and Lily was elated. A moment later, her stomach dropped with worry.
They had always been competitive before they started dating, but would he feel bad about it now? Was he going to be upset she beat him?
Her worry dissipated as a genuine smile broke across his face. "Fantastic, Lily! I didn't even see it coming."
"Thanks, James."
Lily smiled brightly, pleasantly surprised that James kept surprising her in the best way.
"Again?"
Their wands flashed, and they were off again
