Fallout
(Hogwarts: Main Hall – a few hours later)
The fighting was over, as the defends of Hogwarts were the victors. Death Eaters were round up and locked up by loyal Aurors as the Ministry was taken control of again. Draco was standing near Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Minerva.
“Where is Harry and Dumbledore?” demanded Neville
“Harry was fighting the Dark Lord, that was the plan” Revealed Draco
“What about Dumbledore?” asked Minerva concerned as Hermione made the connection
“He was never here” whispered Hermione
“No, he wasn’t” Confirmed Draco
“What do you mean?” demanded Ron
“Dumbledore really died that night” admitted Draco
“He would have had a portrait in the headmaster’s office” Argued Minerva
“Harry took it, thought we could use his guidance. It was the portraits idea for us to impersonate him, to throw the Dark Lord off his game.” Lied Draco as they saw someone rush over to them
“Where is Harry?” demanded Astoria as another witch came over
“What is it to you” Sneered Ginny
“That is enough, Harry is in the hospital wing. He fainted after defeating the Dark Lord” Stated Draco
“He is alright?” asked Astoria concerned
“Madame Pomphrey says he will be fine, just needs some rest” Stated Minerva
“Why don’t we go check on him” Suggested Hermione
“She isn’t coming with us” Stated Ginny as she motioned towards Astoria
“What are you going to stop me, I’m not afraid of your hex” Returned Astoria
“Ginny, we don’t need any more fighting. She was helping him after he had to leave Hogwarts” Tried Hermione
“Fine” conceded Ginny as she, Astoria, Neville, Ron, and Hermione went to check on Harry as a man walked over with two aurors
“Mr. Malfoy” Greeted the man
“This is Kingsley Shacklebolt” Introduced Minerva
“Can I help you with something?” asked Draco sighing
“We know that you are no longer a marked death eater, but we need the whereabouts of your mother, Narcissa Malfoy” Stated Kingsley
“She is unmarked and innocent in all of this” Retorted Draco
“Then there will be no harm in talking to her, can you take us to her?” asked Kingsley
“Once Potter wakes up, I can. The place she is staying is under the Fidelus and I can’t reveal its secret unless Potter tells me I can” Revealed Draco
“If we find out that she left the country then you will be held accountable” Stated Kingsley
“Of course.” Stated Draco as they walked away
(Hogwarts: Hospital Wing – one day later)
When Harry came to, he saw himself in the Hospital wing inside Hogwarts and reached for his glasses before reaching them and putting them on.
“Not so fast” Warned Tracey
“Tracey” Stated Harry
“In the flesh” Joked Tracey
“So, we won?” asked Harry
“We did, not without our share of losses” Stated Tracey
“Who?” asked Harry afraid
“Lupin and Moody” admitted Astoria as she walked in
“Two good men” Whispered Harry as Astoria sat beside him
“I’ll let the others know he is awake” Stated Tracey
“Give us a bit please” asked Astoria softly
“Of course.” Stated Tracey as she walked, seeing Astoria comfort Harry as he cried
“Is he awake?” demanded Hermione
“Yes, Astoria is in there with him right now. She told him that Lupin and Moody died, they want to be left alone” Shared Tracey
“You let her in with him” Demanded Ginny
“He clearly wants her in with him, and we should give them time” Argued Neville
“I am not letting that hussy date him” Hissed Ginny
“You will not interfere, Weasley. Both are my friends, and I will not let you get involved” Warned Tracey
“I bet he does even like her” Retorted Ron
“They hadn’t admitted it, but you can see it … especially when Harry …” Whispered Tracey
“When Harry what?” Demanded Ginny angrily as a privacy charm was cast
“Was dying” admitted Draco as he walked up
“Dying?” asked Ginny shocked as the others were speechless
“He did die” Whispered Tracey
“When?” demanded Ron
“I don’t believe you” Hissed Ginny
“How?” asked Hermione shocked
“He had to destroy the Dark Lord’s snake while I played the part of Dumbledore. He sneaked into Malfoy Manor, he destroyed but got bitten. He managed to escape but succumbed to his wounds” admitted Draco softly
“So, is that Harry a trick too?” Demanded Ron
“No, he isn’t” denied Draco
“Astoria begged him to stay, and his last words were, I wish I could … for you Tori. She was crying for days after that happened. She didn’t leave his side if she could help it, after he came back” Shared Tracey lowly
“How … How did he survive?” demanded Hermione
“He was one” Admitted Draco softly
“His Scar” breathed Hermione
“Don’t worry, it was destroyed when he died” Reassured Tracey
“I ….” Started Ginny
“I am sorry, Weasley. No one wanted for you to get your heart broken.” Reassured Tracey as Ginny started to cry as she was comforted by Ron and Hermione
(Hogwarts: Hospital Wing – several hours later)
Hermione and Ron had managed to bring Ginny back to her dorm and the Twins stayed with her after they had explained enough of what happened, leaving out that Harry died, instead mentioning he was close to death. They made their way back into the Hospital Wing and into the room where Harry was being kept, seeing Astoria cuddling up next to him.
“Harry, Greengrass” Greeted Hermione
“Hey guys, I am glad it is finally over” Greeted Harry
“Yeah, it has been a long ride” admitted Ron
“Tracey told me what she told you, I never meant to break her heart, Ron.” Admitted Harry
“I know, she will need some time” admitted Ron as he sighed
“How did you convince Draco to work with you?” asked Hermione
“It was actually Tracey, apparently they fell in love” Shared Astoria
“Really?” asked Ron surprised
“Yeah, they are dating now. Anyway, I found Draco in Myrtle’s bathroom …. “Started Harry as he recalled the deal he made with Draco
(Ministry: Trial Chambers – a few months later)
The trials for the death eaters were fast tracked through the Ministry and Harry had decided to take up the Potter and Black seats to vote. While Draco took up the Malfoy seat after he was cleared of any wrong doings and Astoria gave Harry regent rights until she could take up her seat. Currently on trial was Daphne Greengrass, after she was kicked out of Hogwarts for being sympathetic to Death Eaters and was hiding Theo Nott in her manor.
“The Wizengamot calls the trial of Daphne Greengrass to order” Stated the Speaker
“Daphne Greengrass, on the count of supporting marked Death Eaters how do you plead?” asked the Speaker
“Guilty. I did it to protect my sister and my best friend, Tracey Davis. Theodore Nott was going to target them unless I helped him” Stated Daphne as she stood tall as someone stood up
“The Wizengamot recognizes Lord Potter-Black and Regent Greengrass” Stated the Speaker
“I want a vow to prove that” Demanded Harry as murmurs were heard
“Let us take it to a vote” Stated the Speaker as almost all the room light up, none daring to go against the savior of the wizarding world
“Motion passes, please give the vow” Stated the Speaker as on the aurors handed her a wand which Daphne took in her hand and snapped it towards Harry and cast the killing curse, but a slab of concrete was put in front of it and the Aurors subdued her
“Through her through the Veil” Someone Screamed
“Lifetime in Azkaban” Hissed someone else as the speaker turned towards Harry who stood once again
“It is not none, but Daphne Greengrass took part in an experimental ritual that took a blood curse from a family member and gave it to her. There is no telling how much longer she will live, and I do not want to see her through the veil. I argue for 15 years in Azkaban” Stated Harry as murmurs were heard
“We shall take it to a vote” Stated the Speaker as the vote was cast and it the results had her go to Azkaban for 15 years, but barely
(Hogwarts: Kitchen)
Harry was sitting down eating dinner in the kitchens as Astoria came and sat next to him.
“How did they go?” asked Astoria
“Snape got off with Community service, he was really working for Dumbledore.” Admitted Harry
“And my sister?” asked Astoria cautiously as Harry sighed
“She said she was protecting you and Tracey from Nott.” Shared Harry
“Was she?” asked Astoria
“I called for a vow, to be sure you know.” Shared Harry
“She didn’t do it” Guessed Astoria
“Worse” Stated Harry sighing
“What?” asked Astoria concerned
“She cast the killing curse at me” Stated Harry as Astoria gasped
“Don’t worry, I blocked it with concrete this time.” Joked Harry
“Don’t you dare joke about your death, Harry James Potter” Hissed Astoria
“Sorry” Apologized Harry
“What did they do to her?” asked Astoria
“They want to throw her through the veil or life in Azkaban. I stood up and said that she went through an experimental ritual and that she didn’t have long to life, I argued for 15 years, and it barely passed. I would imagine if I wasn’t as popular as I was ….” admitted Harry
“I know she tried to kill you, but she wasn’t the same since the ritual. Hopefully she can get better in time” Whispered Astoria
