day of begeimings
the leaky cauldron was a mess of activity, to put it simply
and it was one of the least busy places currently
everywhere else was in a mad flurry of work, after all, most places were all of a sudden receiving copies of the scrolls that should be activated in the evening
after all the ministry refused to not take advantage of the time now given by the potter's arrival so a lot of places now got them
which led to a flurry of people rushing to finish their work for the day and to renovate the place to accommodate for the lengthy time that people would stay there
there was a rush of excitement everywhere
scholars studying the scrolls
taverns being flooded with gossip
newspapers having a flurry of information to write
and so much more
the great hall of Hogwarts was also feeling the rush due to the number of letters asking their children about the potter couple, after someone had apparently leaked a rumor to the press
many of them were asking how they looked, others asked to pass greetings and other messages and some were more...... devious (never check the storage of a Slytherin and Ravenclaw)
harry was very awkwardly being prodded for information which he really should have asked about last night, but alas nervousness and the photo incident made their time short
the viewing would not be held again until evening and no classes would be held that day, so it was a free day, all those above or at 3rd year were allowed to visit hogsmede.
however, no one was going to go out
why?
because the spirit of Hogwarts had manifested into the physical realm, and everyone was curious about them, some more active about it than others
honestly harry wasn't very excited, unlike Ron and Hermione who were trying to find it on the marauders map
harry thought they were being dumb, after all the maurauders map, while one of the most advanced pieces of charm work to ever be created, works off the the fact that everyone's magic has a different wave that uniquely identifies them, like a fingerprint, however as a result muggles and people in places surrounded by their own magic signatures like their houses or rooms would be unseen
the spirit of hogwarts m.sig(this will be short for magical signature) would be the same as the entire castle, thus rendering herself invisible on the marauders map due to it not being able to pinpoint an individual space where it would be
harry wanted to go visit his parents again because once he got over his "i don't want to see my parents cuz i don't wanna feel empty" last night, he needed answers
but Dumbledore stopped him in the hallway, stating that the ministry was interrogating the duo, for reasons that he could not disclose
harry tried to get him to tell him but he wouldn't, still not looking him in the eye just like the rest of the year until now
harry too frustrated but too calm decided to just head to his lab
he hit the walls with a wave of magic with the intent to open a passage to his lab, and a few seconds afterward a passage opened in the wall and harry walked trough, the wall closing up the passage once he went trough
harry walked through the passage until he reached a door at the end of it
opening the door reveals a large laboratory, cauldrons to one side, miscellaneous items to another, research equipment, and far more, it was nearly as big as the great hall, just with a lower ceiling
Harry wasted no time in going over to a coat rack near the door and putting a set of protective robes and gloves, both magically enchanted, then walking over to the cauldrons
most of them were inactive except for one
Harry walked over and checked the flame, once he was done with that he checked the potion itself, it seemed to be coming along fine with its red coloring, after doing multiple checks with some equipment, harry got to work stirring and checking
a few hours had passed and Harry was engrossed in an article in the newspaper about the recent magic theories in the newspaper when he felt a shift somewhere in the room
harry was on immediate guard drawing his wand from his holster in his sleeve and was prepared with it before he heard a familiar voice
"glad to see you on guard little one, many would have been unprepared." said the voice before stepping closer to harry, who saw who it was and lowered his wand
"you praise me too much lord?/lady? Hogwarts" said harry with much confusion over the title
the spirit seeing his confusion just merely giggled and said "you may refer to me as either, however, i do believe that you have no need to do that, Afterall, after all, you have done for this school, i should bow down to you"
harry processed that last bit for a second before his face turned red, he stammered out"l-lady- i mean lord i meanwhatever, i am not worthy of such respect you areaincentbeingwhohasgovernedthisplaceforfarlongerthanihaveeverexisteditwouldbeadishonortoyoutonotrefertoyouinsuchawayletaloneyoureferingtomeassuchand-" harry said, saying all that very quickly before the spirit just put a finger to his lips
harry stopped and the spirit giggled mirthfully before saying "perhaps you would be right, if you were a normal student then yes it certainly would have applied, however we both know that to be untrue, however, i can see you refuse to budge on this, so you may refer to me as such, but i shall refer to you as such" they said with a teasing tone
harry too flustered to say anything just nodded absently
"now as for why I am here, it is merely to inform you that the viewing was supposed to begin 30 minutes ago, everyone is waiting for you" the spirit said amusement evident in her voice
harry immediately snapped out of his flustered state and cast a time checking spell, quickly seeing that it was indeed half past the time they were supposed to start
Harrys eyes comically widened and he immediately set off to the great hall, leaving behind the spirit and accidentally channeling his natural affinity
in the great hall, everyone was antsy, they were supposed to start half an hour ago but because harry hadn't shown up yet they were waiting, due to the fact that it was about his life and people may have questions for him, although many agreed that if he didn't come in a few minutes they would just exclude him, after all they were just told that the scroll in Hogwarts must be activated before the other scrolls can activate, thus due to his tardiness everyone's time is being wasted
many people were grumpy with the ministry supporters being the most vocal, saying that it was due to his guilty conscience that he was not coming here, though they were quickly shot down by the more reasonable and neutral crowd due to his appearance yesterday
at the moment the staff and adults were trying to calm an argument between a harry potter supporter and a ministry supporter, both being egged on by others of similar opinions
at that moment they could hear a very familiar voice screaming in panic, all eyes turned towards the great hall and in a second they saw harry try and unsuccessfully stop himself, seeing him fall and slide out of their sight
but that was not the most interesting thing, what was the most interesting thing was the trail of fire left behind, many younger students were confused but many older students were whispering to themselves in shock, because if it was what they think it is, then harry was already on par with them because it is a well-known fact that if you awaken to your affinity before 7th year, then you were very powerful
The same was happening with the teachers, excluding madame Pomfrey of course who after a slight shock rushed through the doors to check on harry after that fall that was heard
Ron and Hermione shared a look which basically was "I'm not shocked, just worried" which all those sitting near them along with the potter couple who sat next to Remus and Sirius
harry walked in hand on the side of face holding a small bag of ice, the entire hall quietened and stared, which didnt bother harry who just walked over and ploped himself between Ron and Hermione
he then looked at the crowd of eyes, sighed, and said" if anyone has any questions about my affinity, just ask me already"
and boy oh boy did they ask
none were very notable, just some general questions about affinities from the younger years and some specifics from the older years who have yet to unlock their affinity
any other questions were deflected with a phrase which the entire great hall had a bad feeling about
"you'll see"
"hem, hem" the classic voice of the most hated person ever cut through the answer harry was giving a random 2nd year Slytherin
"i do believe we have wasted enough time thanks to Mr potters late arrival and the scene he caused, so I believe it best that we begin the viewing," said the pink tone, in a voice that felt as though she was talking to toddlers
no one could contend that, so the hall went quiet
the unspeakable who were in the room began to surround the scrolls and started muttering an incantation that slightly distorted their voices
the scrolls could be seen having a faintish blue color around them, and then the chanting ended, a few seconds later the scrolls vibrated a bit then levitated and unfolded and emitted a light similar to a projector in the cinemas and a blank screen was shown, then it retracted and in another moment, a blinding light overtook the hall and after the flash, if one were to check the hall, they would find it completely empty
and at that moment, the string of fate was plucked, and the future was changed
