The Plan
Summary
Pansy, Millicient, Blaise are all fed up with hearing Draco's whinging about Harry Potter. It's always Harry Potter this, Harry Potter that. And it always has been, even before the end of the war. Now that the war is over, and everyone is back for their final year (8th year), the Slytherin's are getting sick and tired of hearing about Draco's crush. In particular, they're sick of hearing and seeing Cho Chang hanging off Potter, and Draco being miserable about it. So, together, along with Hermione, Ginny, and Neville, they come up with the Plan to get Draco and Harry together and get rid of Cho Chang (not in that way, just out of Harry's life, you know!) Inspired by “I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend” by Breanie from Sink Into Your Eyes (a Harry/Ginny fanfic archive)And the song “Girlfriend” by Avril Lavigne
Note
And inspired by the song “Girlfriend” by Avril LavigneDisclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, "I Don't Like Your Girlfriend" or "Girlfriend." This was written because while I do like Ginny/Harry pairing, I wanted to see something with Draco/Harry done in a similar manner as Breanie's story. It's kind of fanfiction of fanfiction. Also, I am aware that the song in this story did not come out until 2007, but this is fanfiction, so some timeline liberties were taken in order to make it fit into the late 90s when this story is set to take place. Also, just to note, MP3 players did come out in early 1998. Thanks!

Part One & Part Two

Part One:

“Ug, I don’t get how he can stand her.” Draco huffed from the Slytherin table. He was looking over at the Ravenclaw table where Harry Bloody Potter was leaning over his girlfriend, Cho Chang, whispering in her ear. Draco growled, “Seriously, she’s a pompous arrogant troll!”

Blaise, who was sitting next to him, rolled his eyes. “Draco, when are you going to get over this crush?” He asked looking over at Pansy who was smirking at her food. Draco whipped his head back to Blaise. “I don’t have a crush, Blaise!” He said hotly.

Pansy giggled. Blaise rolled his eyes again and Millicent, who was sitting next to Pansy, groaned. “Yes, you do, Draco. You’ve been obsessed for years!” Millie pointed out succinctly. “We’ve all known it. All the Slytherins, all the Gryffindors (well, except Potter),” she muttered under her breath, and she raised her voice again, “and the Ravenclaws, including HER, and all the Hufflepuffs too! Even the professors know. So – no – you are not hiding it very well.”

Draco’s eyes widened, “I DO NOT!” he practically shouted. The whole Great Hall grew silent. Everyone turned their eyes to the Slytherin table, including Harry Potter and his bitch of a girlfriend. Draco flushed hotly. Damn, he thought I didn’t mean to be that loud. He grunted and turned away. Pushing his plate away, he stood up and rushed out of the Great Hall. As he went, several things happened at once. Blaise, Pansy and Milli all sighed and shook their heads, the Hufflepuffs giggled, and Cho smirked – and then covered it when Harry looked down towards her looking puzzled.

“I wonder what that was about?” he murmured to his girlfriend. Cho smiled sweetly. “Who knows, love. Sounds like an argument between the Slyths.”

No one noticed the narrowed eyes from two witches at the Gryffindor table. Hermione and Ginny looked at each other and raised their eyebrows. They had both seen the smirk on Cho’s face. Silently they got up and followed Draco out of the hall. Luckily with Ron stuffing his face and Harry still at the Ravenclaw table, no one noticed.

As this happened, Millie, Pansy, and Blaise also got up to leave. They figured they shouldn’t let Draco pout for too long or there would be hell to pay later. As they exited the Great Hall, they ran into Hermione and Ginny.

“Pardon me,” Blaise said as they backed away. The Slytherins were slightly weary. Despite the war being over and the Slytherins allying themselves to Potter during the final battle, there was some lingering tension between the Gryffs and Slyths.

Ginny and Hermione waved them off. “No big deal,” Ginny said. Hermione then gestured to the retreating back of Draco. “What happened with him?” she asked.

Pansy rolled her eyes, “Oh you know, his crush on Potter.” Millie grimaced. “He was ranting about that bint, Chang.”

Ginny and Hermione winced, “Oh yes, she’s a real piece of work,” Ginny sighed, “We hate her. We’ve tried to get Harry to see, but he won’t.”

“I think he still feels guilty about what happened to Cedric,” Hermione shook her head.

The Slytherins nodded. “Yea, I can see that,” Blaise responded. Pansy grumbled, “She’s such a gold digger and hoe!”

“Pansy!” Millie exclaimed. Pansy huffed – “Well she is! Potter shouldn’t feel guilty. She was only with Cedric for his money, too and then he died so now she’s after Harry. No self-respecting pureblood with money would take her, but because of Potter’s guilt complex she’s latched onto him like a leach. You can bet she’s got a piece on the side!”

Ginny sneered, “I believe that’s quite true. Did you know she warned me off him when they started dating? All because of my hero’s crush on him when I was little!” Ginny laughed, “I’ve been over him for ages and I’m not even into men! I’m perfectly happy with Luna!” she exclaimed. “Besides, at this point he’s more like another brother to me!”

Hermione laughed at the shocked look on the Slytherin’s faces. They managed to pull themselves together and mutter congratulations. Ginny beamed at them, “Thanks!”

Hermione looked thoughtful. “So, Draco still has a major thing for Harry, then?”

The others all nodded. “Yea, we were ribbing him about it earlier. It’s why he’s gone off in a strop.” Milli sighed.

Hermione grins, “Well, I have an idea to get Draco and Harry together and to trounce that no good wench!”

Pansy perked up – “Really? Do tell!” Hermione looked around. “Not here – let’s go to the Room.”

They all nodded and filed out of the hallway and moved towards the stairs. “Wait!” They heard a shout and turned towards the voice. Neville was rushing towards them – “I’m coming too!”

“Neville!” Ginny yells. Neville rushed up to them, panting. “I don’t know what you’re planning but if it has to do with,” he looks around and whispers, “that harlot, then I want in!”

The group looked shocked, but they shrugged and nodded their heads. They gestured for him to follow them. “We’re headed to the Room,” said Blaise quietly – as they quickly climb the moving staircase. Neville moved after them.

They quickly reached the Room and Hermione paced in front of the tapestry, thinking to herself, I need a room to Plan Harry and Draco’s get together, repeatedly. A door appears and they all rush in.

The Room provided them with a comfortable lounge space with plush chairs, and a loveseat, with a roaring fire. A small table with quills and parchment sat in the middle.

Hermione grinned, “Perfect. Everyone grab a seat and let’s get started.” She said as she picked up the parchment and a quill.

“Let’s get to work!”

End Part One

Part Two:

“So, let me see if I understand this…the plan is to give Draco Felix Felicis and just hope he’ll have the courage with it to approach Potter?” Blaise says skeptically, two hours after the group of Gryfs and Slyths had entered the Room of Requirement.

Hermione rolls her eyes, “Well when you put it like that it seems a bit stupid. It’s not quite that simple.”

Pansy giggles slightly and grabs Blaise in a headlock. Millie grimaces, Neville smiles nervously, and Ginny grins widely. “My dear Blaise, while the Plan does hinge specifically on giving Draco Felix Felicis, we would NEVER just leave to chance ONLY the POSSIBILITY of Draco approaching Harry.” Blaise struggles in the grip Pansy has him in. “We will most certainly give Draco the idea that it is most paramount that he approach Potter in a most obvious and superb way.” Pansy says as she rubs the top of Blaise’s head while still in her grip, musing up his hair. She releases her grip and Blaise pulls away.

“And HOW exactly will we give Draco an idea?” Blaise says, while raising his eyebrow, “And for the matter, what idea will we be giving him?”

Millie looks around the Room at everyone and grimaces, “Weren’t you listening to Granger and Pansy at all these last two hours?” She practically growls out. Blaise glances at her sheepishly. “Well, kind of, but you know how Granger is, she just kind of blabbers on about everything and nothing all at once in too much detail,” Blaise sighs, “And Pansy – well, she’s kind of the same.”

Hermione winces, Pansy glares at Blaise, and Neville giggles, “Yeah, that’s our Hermione!” He then winces when Hermione punches him in the arm. He pouts and mutters out, “Well it’s true!” Millie smiles, “Yea, it’s our Pansy.” Pansy grimaces and side swats at Millie. She dodges. Then Pansy hits Blaise upside the head. He shakes his head and rubs it with his hand.

Ginny laughs, “It might be true, but we’re getting off topic.” Millie nods in agreement. “Yes, back to the Plan. Blaise, it’s not as simple as just giving Draco Felix Felicis. We have to first get a hold of the potion.”

Hermione sighs, “I know how we get a hold of it, but it’s very expensive.” Pansy smirks, “Dearie, money won’t be a problem.”

Blaise groans, “I know that smirk, that’s Pansy’s “I know how to get what I want when I want” smirk. It’s a dangerous thing, when Pansy smirks like that.”

“Honestly, I don’t think money is going to be a problem at all as several us come from wealthy pureblood families. And some of us have connections, so we know getting the potion won’t really be a problem,” Neville says, “The issue is once we get the potion, how do we administer it to Draco? Plus, how do we get him to approach Harry in an obvious way?”

Millie and Pansy looked at each other, surprised by Neville’s comment. He didn’t seem the type that would talk about purebloods that way. They glance at each other again, “Leave that to us,” they smirk. It was a well-known fact that Pansy and Millie were very close to each other, and to Draco. They knew all his secrets, even ones he didn’t know he had.

Ginny raised an eyebrow. “Care to share with the rest of us?”

Pansy examines her nails. “Well, it’s probably not something widely known, mostly because he’s shy about it, but Draco likes to sing and dance. He’s also VERY good at it. In fact – despite the fact that you all think we hate muggles, Draco loves going to pubs to sing and dance. And he loves muggle music.”

“Though, don’t let his father hear about it,” Millie said, “Or there could be hell to pay.”

Hermione tilted her head, “Why should that matter? Lucius is in Azkaban now and will be for a good long while.”

Millie shook her head, “Perhaps, but he could still disinherit Draco if he got wind of it. Although he’d be daft if he did since he hasn’t got anyone else to take on the family name.”

Blaise nodded, “Yeah, and who knows how sane Lucius really is now that the Dark Lord is gone, and he’s been in Azkaban.”

“Anyway, we’re getting off topic again. Essentially, Draco loves to sing and dance. And he’s damn bloody good at it too.” Pansy smirks again, “So – has anyone heard of the singer Avril Lavigne before?”

Hermione sits up and grins, “Yes, I love her music! She’s got some great hits – very grunge skater type.” She tilts her head, “Does Draco like her?”

Millie nods, “Oh yes, he loves her music. He can sing a lot of her songs from memory now at this point.”

“And he dances to her music like a stripper who’s out trying to make a roll,” Pansy laughs loudly.

Neville scratches his head, “So the idea is to give Draco Felix Felicis and then give him the idea to sing and dance in front of Harry to one of Avril Lavigne’s songs?”

“Essentially, yes.” Pansy nods, “Specifically, sing and dance to a specific song in front of Potter in a VERY public place where everyone is watching, including the bint, Chang.”

Ginny perks up, “The Great Hall then!”

Blaise still seems confused, “But HOW do we get him to sing and dance to a specific song?”

“Well, we’ll give him the potion through his food. So, in the Great Hall, during dinner, he’ll have gotten a few drops of the liquid courage. We’ll make some suggestions during the meal about singing and dancing. Place the idea in is head. Also, he’ll likely see Chang with Potter during dinner, so he’ll get worked up about it, much like he did tonight. Since he’ll have the potion in his system, he’ll have the courage to “perform” and voilà, goodbye Chang and hello Draco (and Potter),” Pansy explains like it’s the simplest thing in the world.

Neville rubbed his chin, “I suppose it could work.” He looks at Pansy, “Do you have a specific song in mind? And how will you get the music to play in the Great Hall? Or, well, in Hogwarts at all?”

Hermione perked up, “Actually – that last part is easy. I’ve managed to adapt a spell that allows muggle electronics to work in Hogwarts. And then it will just be a matter of casting a spell to amplify the sound. Should be easy,” she shrugged happily.

Blaise, Pansy, and Millie looked Hermione like she had two heads, “You were able to adapt a spell to allow muggle electronics to work in Hogwarts?” Pansy exclaimed! “Why haven’t you shared this with everyone!!??”

Hermione shrugged, “Didn’t know there were people who’d really be interested in it besides maybe the muggleborns. And I’ve talked to a few the ones in Gryffindor and have shown them how it worked.”

“Well, you’ll have to teach it to us!” Pansy said excitedly, “One for the Plan, but also because I want to be able to play my new mp3 player!”

Ginny looked over at Pansy in disbelief, “You have an mp3 player?”

Pansy grinned, “Yea, I got one when they were first released earlier this year. It’s one of the first things I did in rebellion against my family during the summer.”

Neville looked confused, “What’s an mp3 player?” Blaise grimaced and shrugged, “Some muggle music device, I think. Pansy has been grumbling about not being able to play it since the school year started.” He muttered with another shrug.

Hermione looked shocked, “You know what an mp3 player is?” Then she smiled, “Well, I’m glad you’re branching out! Moving on, what Avril Lavigne song did you have in mind for Draco to sing and dance to?”

Pansy smirked cunningly, “Do you know the song Girlfriend?” she asked. Hermione’s eyes got big, “OOOOH that’s sooo good!” she squealed. Pansy and Hermione put their heads together and started whispering deviously.

Everyone else in the Room looked at each other bewilderedly. They all shrugged. It was probably better to let the two of them figure out the finer details. They all said goodnight to each other and left the two witches alone to finalize the Plan.
