Her Invitation
Chapter Three: Her Invitation
That Following Saturday...Their weekly Hogsmeade trip came up in no time. Professor Snape, Professor Sprout and Professor McGonagall was chaperoning them. Raven was wearing one of her favorite dresses. The small group of girls walked into Gladrags Wizardwear. They walked into the small shop and looked at all of their choices of things to wear to the dance. Raven saw Snape walk into the store from behind a rack of beautiful costumes. Raven looked over at him, he was admiring one of the costumes. She was surprised when he walked over and stood besides her. "I know it was you." He said bluntly. "What was me?" She asked innocently. "You helped me fall asleep, then covered me up. So, thank you very much for that, you are also very talented, Miss. Dinas. Not only are you kind, and caring. You can sing and you can write beautifully." He added as he looked at her before looking at the costumes that were on the rack in front of them. "Professor, Do you have a date to the Halloween Bash?" She asked looking at him. "No, why do you ask?" Snape questioned looking at the girl curiously. "No reason just curious." Raven said as she collected everything she needed to make their matching costumes. Snape walked out of Gladrags Wizardwear. Snape walked down the street and into the pub called The Hog's Head, he went over to his usual booth and sat down in the corner booth. He got out a piece of parchment and his quill and ink and began writing his response to Slytherin R's letter. About half an hour later, Snape finished writing his reply to his mysterious pen pal. He set the parchment aside to let it dry. He then placed his head down into his arms and used them as a pillow. He closed his eyes, trying to get some rest until the ink dried. Once it was finished he rolled it up and used magic to summon Ama. The raven came, Snape tied the letter to her foot and set her free. Raven, Jenny and Kimmie were walking down the street when Ama flew up to Raven. Raven gently untied the letter and placed it in her bag. The beautiful raven flew away. The three girls walked down the street and into the bar. Raven and Jenny went over and sat in the booth in front of Snape. Raven went over to the counter. She looked at the bartender. "What can I do for you?" The male bartender asked. "I would like one bottle of your best Firewhisky with a glass of ice and one olive martini with extra olives please." She said. "Do you have some sort of ID?" He asked her. She nodded and pulled out her fake id and showed it to him. He took it and examined it before handing it back to her. "Okay, Ill have the waitress bring the drinks to you and take your order." She nodded as she placed her ID back into her purse before walking over and sitting down in the opposite side of Professor Snape's booth.
"How can I help you Miss. Dinas?" He asked not even bothering to look up. "Professor Dumbledore asked me if I would like to be your apprentice. He said that you already knew about it." She said looking at him softly as the waitress brought their drinks over and set them down in front of them both. "Thank you." Raven said looking at the waitress. "You are welcome." The waitress said as she left them. "Is that a martini?" He questioned Raven. "Yes and I ordered a Firewhisky for you." She said. "Are you even allowed to drink?" Snape questioned her. "No but I have my ways." Raven said as she took a sip of her martini. Snape looked a little impressed at her answer before he took a sip of his firewhisky. Snape then looked at her with a smirk. "Dumbledore did tell me that he was going to help me get an apprentice. I never thought that you would be on that list though." Snape said as he drank the rest. Raven grabbed the bottle and filled up his glass. "Why not? Because I'm a Slytherin? Or is it because I'm a girl?" She said looking at him. "No, because you barely ever pay attention in my class. Especially lately, you have been even more distracted than you usually are." He said. "Why is that?" He questioned as he took a sip of his drink. She finished her martini and ate the olives. "Well, I met this man. And I have been writing to him, we have been getting to know one another. And I was thinking about asking him to the Halloween Bash." Raven said as she waved the waitress over. "What can I help you with?" The waitress asked. "Can I get another glass with Ice please?" She asked. The waitress nodded and went to get what she ordered. Snape looked at her with an almost amused grin. Raven blushed softly as she felt his gaze on her. "What?" Raven asked as she looked at him. He finished his drink and poured himself another then drank that all at once. "Now, I'm drunk." He got up went over and sat next to her. He leaned in and looked at her eyes. "You look really cute when you blush." He whispered into her ear. She blushed even more and looked at him. The waitress came over and set the glass of ice down in front of her. "Here you go." She said. "Thank you." Raven said, the waitress nodded and left them alone. She poured herself a huge glass and drank it. She then poured herself two more glasses and drank them both. Now she was officially drunk. "I should go." She whispered to him as she looked into Snape's eyes. "Your eyes are beautiful." He said softly as he stared into them becoming lost in his gaze. "Thank you." She said. She moved him over then stood up. She paid the bill, grabbed her and his things. She signaled to her friends that they were leaving.
They left the pub together. She called a carriage and paid the driver to take them both back to Hogwarts. She got herself and Snape into the carriage by herself. The carriage brought them back to the castle. She got out and helped Snape out. She grabbed him and took him to his room. She opened the door and led him into the room, with his help she was able to get him into his bedroom. She used a simple spell that helped her get him ready for bed before helping him into the bed and under the covers. She put him to sleep and turned the lights off. "Please don't leave me alone." Snape called out to her. "Raven? Will you stay with me until I fall asleep?" He asked with an honest, gentle and affectionate tone in his voice. "Okay then." She said as she shut the bedroom door and walked over to him. She sat down in the chair next to his bed. She took out the supplies that she bought and began making their Halloween costumes. About half way through the night, Snape finally fell asleep. Raven finished Snape's outfit. It was betting really late, so she cleaned up her stuff and put it in all away in her bag. She then remembered about Snape's letter that she received earlier that same day. She then got the letter out of her bag and opened it. She in rolled it and began to read it.
'Dear Slytherin R,
My favorite color is black. My favorite food is deep fried chicken. My one and only fear is never being able to fall in love, again. My favorite swear words are fuck, and bloody hell. My favorite animals are Dolphins. My favorite subject is Potions. My favorite number is 13. My favorite Song is The Whips Sings by Winter Aid. My favorite dessert is Ice Cream. My favorite flowers are white water lilies. My favorite season is autumn. My favorite book is The Outsiders by S.E. Hilton. My favorite country is England. My favorite holiday is New Years Eve. My perfect and ideal first date is a small thing. A nice moonlight picnic by the lakeside, where we could look at the stars and get to know each other a lot better.
Sincerely, Severus Snape'
She smiled gently as she read it. She got out a piece of parchment, her quill and her ink. She then began writing her response. After about a half hour she was finally done. She set her letter side to let it dry. She then cleaned up her stuff and got ready to leave. Once the ink was dry she rolled the letter up and tied it with a red ribbon. She then got up and placed it onto his desk I his room. She then went back over and grabbed her thing when Snape grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his bed with him. He then wrapped his arms around her, she turned to face him. He opened his eyes and looked at her, before he finally leaned in and kissed her. She kissed back before she pulled away. "I should go, Professor." She said softly. "Please don't leave me." He whispered as he tightened his arms that were around her. Since she couldn't really go anywhere so she just took off her glasses and put them on the bedside table. She then set her stuff down and used a simple spell to get ready for bed. She got comfortable, covered herself up with a blanket, closed her eyes and went to sleep in Snape's arms.
The Next Morning... Severus woke up with someone laying besides him. Confused he looked over and saw that was Raven who was laying there. He moved quickly and got out of the bed. Raven woke up and looked over at him. "Good morning, Professor." She said as she looked at him. Before he could respond there was a knock on the door. "I'm coming." Snape said angered as he left the bedroom. Raven put on her glasses before wrapping herself in a thin blanket before leaving the bedroom after him. "Hey Professor, Who's at the door?" She asked as she entered the living room. Dumbledore was standing there talking to Snape. Raven looked at them. "Hello Miss. Dinas." Dumbledore said as he realized what she was wearing. "Did you spend the night here?" He questioned. "Yes, Sir but I can explain." She said looking at them. "Please do." Snape said. "I got wasted. Professor Snape noticed that I was beyond drunk. So he brought me here and let me sleep it off in his bed as he watched over me. So he was just being a good and responsible professor." She said covering up the fact that he was the one that got wasted. "I'm surprised at this unusual behavior from you. You will have Detention with Professor Snape this evening after dinner." Dumbledore said looking at her. She nodded her head gently. "Yes Sir." She said softly. "Excuse me while I go change." She added as she left the living room and went back into the bedroom. She heard the door shut then went back into into the living room. Snape was sitting in a chair with a cup of coffee in his hand. "Why did you lie?" Snape asked looking at her curiously. "To protect you from getting fired. Believe it or not I actually like you." She responded looking back at him.
"What do you mean that you actually like me?" Snape questioned looking at her. "Could I possibly use your shower?" She asked avoiding his gaze. "Okay sure. In the bedroom first door on the right. Towels are on the first shelf in the cupboard." Snape said looking at her. "Thank you." She said softly as she turned around. "No problem." Snape said as he drank his coffee. She then went to the bedroom and into the bathroom. She turned the shower on, set the water on the right temperature before she finally got undressed. Once she was undressed she got into the shower. She smiled as she let the warm water wash over her entire body. She washed her body with Snape's body wash. She then rinsed the soap off before grabbing Snape's 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. She put some in her hand, put it all in her hair, scrubbed hair and washed her hair. She then washed all of the soap out. She then grabbed a razor and shaved her body. Once she was finished, she rinsed off and then got out. She wrapped herself in a towel and dried off. She then went into the bedroom, went into her bag and got clothes on. Once she was fully dressed, she cleaned up all of her stuff and put it in her bag. She then grabbed her stuff, went back out into the living room and looked at him. "What now Miss. Dinas?" Snape asked her while he read his newspaper and drank his coffee. "A raven came by last night and dropped off a letter for you. I took it and placed it on your desk. I didn't open it or anything." She said as she looked at him. "Thank you. You can leave now." He said. "So we aren't going to talk about what happened last night?" She said. "There is nothing to talk about." Snape said coldly. "You kissed me last night, Professor." She said looking at him. "I know, I remember." He said. "Why did you kiss me?" She questioned. "I don't know actually. But I do know that there is something about you that I like. Your personality is unique. It's unusual, your different then everyone else and you show it to everyone." He said as she smiled looking at him. "You really think so?" She asked looking at him. "I do." He responded. "Thank you, Professor." She said softly looking at him. "No one has ever said that about me before." She said as she went over and hugged him. He hugged her back. "You should go and get breakfast in the Great Hall. I'll meet you there, I still need to get ready for the day." He said as he looked at the time. She nodded as she grabbed her coat. "Goodbye Professor." She said softly as she went over and left his room going to the Great Hall.
