"Regulus?!?" Sirius heard James' voice from the couch. "What?" He slightly mumbled turning around to look out the door, to his surprise it was Regulus at the door looking... in the nicest way, like shit. His hair was greasy and stuck to his face looked like it hadn't been brushed or cut since the last time he'd saw him which seemed to be insane to Sirius sense Regulus's hair was always maintained and brushed, not as much as Sirius's but pretty close. There was a few moments of silence and once it seemed like Regulus wasn't going to talk Sirius spoke up closing the door behind his brother.
"I have so many questions." Both James and Regulus put there full attention on Sirius instead of looking intently at eachother like they were doing since James opened the door it seemed like."First do what are you doing here, how do you even know where here is, and once again what're you doing here." Regulus stopped for a moment collecting his thoughts presumably. "I know it's kind of random me being here after what...5 years- 6 years?" Regulus laughed awkwardly putting his hand up and rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know I kind of disappeared I guess-" He was then cut of by James who spoke for what seemed like the first time. "Yeah that's how I'd put it." He seemed almost annoyed but simultaneously like he was hiding his relief it kind of made Sirius feel like he was intruding something, he raised an eyebrow at James and then turned to his brother. "So, how'd you find us."
"It was actually, uhh Snape who told me- Not that I still keep in contact with him or anything just that I hadn't heard about or from anyone who went to Hogwarts which again is my fault for falling of the face of the Earth but I ran into him the other day." He quicky reiterated when James looked like he was about to murder him. "How'd he know where we live?" Sirius was intrigued he honestly assumed Severus was dead, well less assumed more just hoped. "He told me about the divorce. Sorry about that by the way." He turned to James to add the last part and he just kind of mumbled and shrugged it had been years he was used to it by now. "But y'know good old Severus could never keep his nose in his own business, especially when it came to Evans." He passed his older brother a questioning look at the mention of the surname Evans and he just nodded quickly. "So he told me that she kept your house and kid... and I guess he knew that you two moved in here." Regulus completed the story with a mix of a shrug and a shoulder raise.
"Okay but why come here?" Sirius still had so many questions and Regulus wasn't exactly giving that many answers. "Well I figured that youre technically still my brother and your...." He trailed off looking at James. Sirius was completely sure he was missing something. C'mon you can say it, I'm the backstabbing ex who cheated on you with a girl who just divorced me in the end." Woah, there were many ways Sirius has expected this to go but this was not it, the room was almost completely silent. James looked pissed off and slightly guilty, Sirius was just standing there eyes wide flicking back and forth from his brother and his best friend, Reggie, well , just looked like himself, his new self anyway. Eventually the silence was broken by a phone ringing. "Shit" Sirius mubbled and grabbed his phone the words "Moony✨♥️" flashed on the screen. "It's Remus I've got to take this, don't...have a cat fight while I'm gone." And with that the oldest of the three walked off into his bedroom with a "Hey!" Leaving James and Regulus to continue to stand there awkwardly dwelling on the past.
The silence which seemed to last forever was broken again by James. "I feel like I should explain myself." He said kind of breathily sitting on the couch and lightly tapped his hand on the spot next to him as an invitation for the other man to sit, which he took scooting slightly away from him awkwardly. "So, I didn't mean to cheat on you with Lily." That confused the other boy "... You didn't mean to...cheat on me?" He was all for forgive and forget but this just out right made no sense. "Okay I know it makes no sense but I started having out with Lily and to me it was just like friend fucking around going to parties having dinner with our friends but I guess she thought I was I love with her and told all of her friends that I was her... boyfriend. I had no idea until Mary, the only person I told about us, had pulled me aside and asked if we'd broken up, I very clearly was confused and she explained that Lily went around telling everyone we were dating and by that time I guess you found out because you were avoiding me.",
The younger of the two just nodded sadly. "Damn, I guess you really did accidentally cheat on me." He responded with a mix of a laugh and a sigh but there was another question in is mind. "Wait but why didn't you call it quits with Evans if you didn't actually love her." "I ask myself that alot and I think that I missed the feeling of being loved and sense you clearly weren't gonna come back I got the next best thing." Regulus let out a small laugh. "So you just faked your way through marriage and having a kid?" It was such a strange thing to think about honestly like it came out of a book or something. "Well I didn't say I faked the path of having a kid " James smirked and Regulus laughed "Gross!" And then James got smacked with one of the couch pillows.

By the time Sirius came back out from the 3 hour phone call with his boyfriend he had expected Regulus to be long gone and James fast asleep on the couch. And he was partially correct James was fast asleep on the couch, but he was tangled up with Regulus. He snapped a picture and sent it to Remus with the message "He really said 'my best friends brother is the one for me' i didnt know James was Victoria Justice."
