THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP
The days went by quickly and after four afternoons planned (and a few more because Harry did become a good negotiator during the war), the day of the cup had finally arrived.
The gigantic group, on one fine morning were ready on the hill, awaiting for the portkey to transport them all into the designated site. Amos Diggory was looking weirdly at them as they arrived: Harry Potter and Sirius Black were accompanied by Theodore Nott, N and Anne Carrow and Neville Longbottom, The entire Weasley brood, Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger.
What was probably more concerning was just how calm Cederic was being with the whole group.
The day of the Quidditch cup progressed just how Harry remembered: they sat up camp, enjoyed the game from the highest place in the stadium, as Sirius had gifted tickets to everyone (Fudge was behaving with Sirius like Percy was behaving with him. It was a little concerning)
Something a little different was Malfoy’s behaviour, but they chugged it to him becoming friends with them, or Theo’s presence. The second option was more likely.
Harry and Ron this time kept the twins in check (so they didn’t bother Percy too much)
The game went just as they all remembered: The Veelas and the Leprechauns, the fast irish chasers and Krum catching the snitch.
Neville wouldn’t stop thanking them for the day, but he had to leave with a portkey back to his house.
Harry, Ron and Hermione went 'exploring' in their free time, and had the opportunity to render the Muggles who were working at the camp site completely untraceable, and invisible to those who would hurt them: they made sure that no death eater would see them, even if they were standing right in front of them.
Ron had found out from some sources, right after the war, that the Death Eater riot at the Quidditch cup wasn’t organized by Voldemort, but by Dumbledore, who needed the distraction to mess the cards on the metaphorical table: Harry’s forced entrance in the tournament was also one of these tricks so they had to be careful.
When Mr Weasley came to look for them, Harry kept a tight hold of his wand and they were all together with Sirius and the rest of the Weasleys. They even managed to bring in Dean Thomas who looked more than terrified.
Draco came across them a little later, they took him in as well and looking at Dean’s unusually pale face...everyone could see just how ashamed Draco was feeling.
When morning came, they all found themselves at the Burrow with warm chocolates in hand despite the warm weather. They were all safe and unharmed, that was all that mattered.
No Dark Mark had been cast so that was a good sign, or so Harry thought.
Luna and Ron spent good three hours discussing something they didn’t want to share with anyone.
A couple of days later Ron randomly asked Harry if he knew how to scuba dive.
Ron Harry and Hermione went to learn, at Ron’s insistence.
Harry shrugged it off, who knew what the hell was going on in his best friend’s head.
