Intro-Green Eyes
His breathe hitched as he caught sight of the brightest green eyes he had ever seen.
The first time silver eyes met green, he knew there was something different about their owner. Something he couldn't figure out, but knew he wanted. A warmth. A comfort. A gentle hold that he didn't want to leave him. And when the owner's voice floated through his ears, he was sunk even further.
And that terrified him.
All his life, his father's steel tipped words were drilled into his head. Never let anyone have a hold on you that causes you to think unclearly. The second another person has a piece of you, they'll use it to make you weak, bend you to their will. And Malfoys never let anyone know their weaknesses. Malfoys exploit others weaknesses.
And a pair of bright emerald eyes were making him weak in the knees. Making his heart pound, his palms sweat, and his breathing hitch in his chest. Making him weak where he was supposed to be stone. All of this because of one look at a pair of eyes without even knowing the owner. Because of a timid melody drifting through his ears when the owner spoke. All of this without knowing the owner's name. And terrified him even more. If this happened when he just met green eyes, what would happen when he got to know him. Got to know the owner of jet black hair that hung over his forehead, a pale face white as snow, green emeralds that hypnotized silver moons. He could tell those eyes anything, anything he wanted to know, all the parts of Draco that were different from a Malfoy and...
Disappoint his father. Make his father rageful enough to take it out on Draco in the form of a cane or a wand. And that couldn't happen.
So he did what he could do best. He acted like a spoilt brat, an obnoxious child who acted better then everyone because his family had money. And the words tasted like poison in his mouth, but he said them anyway. And the green eyes widened before narrowing in disbelief and disgust. And finally walked away from him without looking back, no matter how much he wanted them to.
And two years later, on a scarlet train's platform, he saw those green eyes again. Deep in conversation with the patriarch of the Weasley family, his chest ached when he saw the unhappiness emanating from them. He wanted to talk to him, make him smile again, but there was no way he could get close enough. And when his friends, or lackeys, found their way to him and wanted to mess with the Golden Trio, he couldn't exactly say no without looking suspicious. So he went along and acted in a role he despised because emerald eyes always looked at him in anger when he was around. And he was almost happy when the new professor was in the same car because then he couldn't say anything he normally would. He left and didn't look back so he wouldn't go back.
And when he heard that the other boy had collapsed from the hooded monsters on the train, he couldn't help but go to him. Only the words came out as they always did, mocking, condescending, mean, even when he didn't want to say it that way in a million years. And he was happy again when the professor stepped in before he could make the situation worse. And if he watched green eyes throughout dinner, then his friends could think that he was planning the next stunt he was planning to pull on the trio. His mask could hide the worry.
Malfoys never show weakness.
Malfoys always get what they want.
Malfoys never lose control.
Malfoys never let another have control over their emotions.
Then why did a pair of green eyes make this Malfoy lose his composure? And why did he want to be around him so much?
