Chapter 6
Undertale
- They go to Frisk’s house to play, Sans worries and tells them that they have guests will be arriving later – they go to the living room to welcome the new guests that teleport in.
- It’s mostly sans and papyrus aus, since they are the most aware of the multiverse and stuff.
- They sleep over since there’s a storm or something dangerous outside.
Everyone wakes up at the sound of screaming. They all activate their magic ready for a fight, only to see the 4 younger siblings around the area where Karl was sleeping, now thrashing and begging to stop it please, just stop, they didn’t do anything wrong.
Dream Sans says he can transport them all inside their mind to see what was wrong, to try and calm them down.
The siblings look uneasy, putting the bad Sanses especially on guard.
When they are taken inside, they are standing at the side of a cell, of which contains Karl, who’s strung up like a dead bird. Tears run down Karl's face as they shake, and strain against the chains holding them.
That’s when they notice the massive wings, which started at their shoulder blades and drooped down so the tips were dragging on the floor, and the wings themselves were in horrible shape. They were covered in dust and blood, and all the feathers that were still attached were in such a disarray, and they could see feathers in small piles around the cell.
“It really is too bad you know.” Everyone whips their head around to see a man leaning in the shadows, holding a saw.
“You talk and you talk about how you would put yourself in front of your family as a forever shield, someone they could rely on, but in actuality you are as useless as dead dog.” A dark chuckle escaped the man in his amusement.
“You couldn’t lift a single finger or even use those abnormalities of yours to keep them safe,” a pause, then he slowly spun around to face Karl, his voice sickly sweet, cloying with condescension and madness, before he continued, “which is the sole reason you see for your existence, and you failed.” His face lit up with absolute glee, and oh, wasn’t that just the truth. They had vowed to keep them safe, and they had failed.
“Some older sibling you are” He scoffed, making a show of walking around the trembling body, knowing full well the fear that held them at that moment.
“You may have managed to escape me a 50 years ago, but you did gift me such an oh so lovely present didn’t you?” Karl lifted their head and gave a weak glare at the man, clenching their fists.
“With you pissing me off with those smart ass comments of yours, and always getting in my way, I’d say taking your voice was a wonderful experience. My, the silence was glorious, and even now you can’t do a single thing, all you can do is stay there and listen.
The group watching remained silent, out of fear and shock.
“And, if you don’t want the same thing happening to those precious kids of yours, I suggest you behave, pet.” His eyes glint with malintent, knowing he was victorious.
Sure enough, after a few seconds, Karl’s body goes pliant and limp, and their head falls forward, their eyes dull and empty, expression blank as they felt their will shatter completely.
“Now, let’s have some fun, shall we pet?”
After finishing the sentence, he pulls the saw crashing down onto their left wing, near to where it connected to their back, and S5 let out a barely audible screech, body tensing from the pain, shaking uncontrollably.
(It took over an hour to fully remove both wings, him wanting to prolong the pain for as long as possible. They came close to passing out several times (even if they wanted to die, they weren’t allowed.) but they never were able to fall into the sweet embrace of unconsciousness, forced to stay awake the entire procedure.)
Karlis merely flinched now as the last of their wing was pulled off, no longer caring, nor have enough energy to react.
“My, my, that was more fun than I remembered” he smiled maniacally, prodding at the bloody stubs, causing the pain to flare up, but he grinned, uncaring at all.
“Now, let’s add these to the collection” and the last thing they saw before finally, finally, passing out was him pulling out a tray, and placing their bloody, broken wings next to 4 sets of smaller, more pristine wings that they recognised.
The last thing the group heard before being thrown out was Karl’s thought
‘I failed them….I broke my promise.’
They reappeared in the room, with Karl sitting silently in a ball in the corner. Their siblings were all crying, bawling their eyes out. They never knew it had been…..like that!
Yes they all went through the same thing and by the gods, they were all fucking traumatised children, but that was…..that was what had broken S5 the most, and it was something only they had been through. That guy was a master of illusions and tricks after all.
“Karli….” Raya softly coaxed, as if trying to not scare a frightened animal.
“Please, look at us” Karl slowly looks up. Their eyes were bloodshot from crying, they also were still glazed over, like Karl was still trapped in that fog, fighting with all their might to get out but just being dragged down further.
Raiden gently lifted a hand towards them, before Karl flinched back, clenching their eyes shut against the hit that wasn’t going to come. They had really shut down, and it was difficult to bring them back.
The four of them were still crying, trying to muffle their cries the best they could to not freak Karl out more. It drew Karl’s attention all right, but they didn’t freak out. Seeing them all upset, Karlis shuffled so they were in a bit more open space on the soft surface of the bed, and carefully held their hands out, showing they were okay with, and needed, physical contact, only to nearly be toppled by the force of being tackled in a hug.
The others were silent while watching their interaction, making a note to…not interrogate, but to maybe ask a few questions, see if they could help in any way. They also knew that they would CHECK all of them the next day, to analyse them and see what they could find out.
Soft chirps begin to be let out, and Karl lets out some in return, pushing at them all and their backs. They all release their wings, letting Karl look at them all. After an attack like that, Karlis was succumbing to a lot of their instincts, which told them to check them all thoroughly, make sure they were warm enough, that they were in a nest, and preen each other and cuddle for sleep.
