Chapter 4
Undertale idea – Everyone is on the surface and happy (Chara, Frisk, and the Player are all separate entities.)
Anyway, Izarri, Luke, Raya, and Raiden all go to the same school as Frisk, Chara and Asriel (who’s ALIVE).
Obviously, as Karlis is classed as the ‘legal guardian’ and takes responsibility for them and goes to PTA meetings (Linda and Helen time oh boy)
Karl is often looked down upon for being the youngest ‘parent’ (they never denied it, it was better and funnier to mess with people that way).
Frisk is friends with their siblings, and get along very well.
Karlis gets to know Sans and other (nice) parents when they go to meetings, never being afraid of striking up a friendly conversation.
Anyway, at one point, they are invited over because the children want to hang out. They start going and a storm happens and they get caught. They give the umbrellas to their siblings.
When they get there they are offered some fresh clothes. Karl reluctantly agree after being persuaded (and intimidated).
They change, and are very nervous, hand trembling, short of breath.
Enters the main room, avoids looking at the others and goes to talk with Izarri and Frisk.
As they turn around, they hear several gasps and the sound of something being dropped, causing them to flinch, shoulders hiking up.
They don’t dare budge, don’t move their eyes from where they are trained on Izarri’s and Luke’s comforting gazes, not even when they hear a voice reluctantly break the silence,
“Kiddo….what on earth happened?” as they felt several pairs of eyes staring in shock at their arms and shoulders and neck, and the multiple scars that criss crossed the surface of their skin.
They assumed it’s from their home life, and there’s a barrage of questions which only stops when Karl lifts their gaze and quietly mutters, “no, we don’t have parents…”
Silence, then a tentative, “who looks after the children”
Then a small voice, shaking in fear, whispers, “I do”.

Alternatively, they find Frisk who is lost. Izarri goes up to them, who seems unsure. They wave Raiden over, who asks Frisk if they are okay.
They begin to sign, then pause. Karl picks it up with a reassuring expression.
‘Don’t worry, we know sign language too’ they signed. Frisk beams, then explains that they are lost.
They arrive at Frisk’s house, the door opens and there Sans is standing, who’s relieved to see Frisk unharmed, though he seems wary of the strangers.
Raiden talks, and he explains the situation. Sans looks at Karl and asks if they’re alright.
Karl winces in response, that’s a difficult question to answer now wasn’t it.
They shrug, clear their throat and force out pass the ash,
“s-soor-ry” in a slurring tone
Raiden sighs as he says
“We told you not to push it, Karl.” Karlis simply stuck out their tongue.
Head: ‘Don’t worry about me, you idiot.’, causing Raiden to whip his head around to face Karl who was looking away innocently, causing them to catch the monsters’ attention.
‘I am not an idiot!’
-you sure about that? –
‘You have no way to prove it’
-What about last week with the foxes? –
‘Ok I get it!’
The monsters look quite confused.
“what is going on?” Karl turns and sees Toriel, the former queen of the underground, and the headteacher of the local school. Karlis smiles sheepishly and waves.
“Oh, Karlis. Hello there dear. How are you and the kids?” Karl nods and gives a thumbs up.
