Summary
You were in fact not imagining things.   Characters Mentioned Belong to J.K. Rowling.

You began to notice it. The glances that they shared, the fleeting touches that happened when one of them asked the other for something. They weren’t slick, not at all. You just thought it was all in your head at first. I’m just imagining things, Remus would never cheat on me especially with someone half his age you thought. You were in fact not imagining things.

When dinner was finished, you and Molly, stayed behind to help clean up while everyone else went upstairs to get ready for bed. The kitchen and dining room were looking better than ever and you were just about ready to throw in the towel so, you excused yourself from the cleaning duties and headed upstairs to yours and Remus’s room. Remus was already asleep when you arrived which upset you because usually, he would wait up for you. Once your tired body fell against the soft mattress you knocked out instantly. You almost didn’t notice the body of your husband getting up and heading out of the room.

Remus knew that what they were doing was risky but, he loved Tonks and he would risk everything for her. Trying his best to avoid the creaks and groans of the floorboards of old 12 Grimmwauld place he managed to make it all the way to the kitchen where Tonks was already waiting for him. Her beautiful light pink hair was up in a ponytail to show off her radiant face. And when she shined that smile of hers that made her hair turn a shade of dark pink he nearly toppled over from lust. Fuck he thought to himself. She was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. When he was with Tonks he forgot all about his wife. He never wears his wedding ring anymore, he claims that it “intensifies the pain during transformations.” Bullshit you thought when he told you. You never said anything though, you loved him too much to pick a fight with him.

“I missed you, Rem. I missed you so much,” Tonks whispered.

“I missed you too Dora,” he replied.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He lunged forward and attached his lips to hers. He should have asked for permission first but, he just couldn’t wait. Their body began to rock against each other and he could nearly feel how wet his Tonks was getting and it was driving him mad. Their lust-filled actions were soon interrupted by something that sent both of them into a panic.

“Am I interrupting something?” came your voice. Your soft and happy tone was now replaced by a harsh and sad one.

You had woken up some time ago and noticed that your husband was missing. That’s odd, he must be downstairs you thought. Remus is a heavy sleeper so if he’s awake then something important must be happening. Walking down the stairs to find your husband while also not trying to wake up the other people sleeping was as hard as being on an auror mission. You made your way to the kitchen and when you got there, what you saw was not what you were expecting. Tonks was pinned against the kitchen counter while Remus had his mouth halfway down her throat.

“You were supposed to be asleep,” Remus whispered in a harsh tone. That surprised you. Where was the man you once married? The one who was soft and cuddly.

“This is why you’ve been ignoring me lately. It’s because you’re with her,” you accused as you pointed a finger at the girl whose hair has now just turned a shade of orange.

“I’m sorry y/n, I really am but-” Tonks tried to explain but she was cut off by you interrupting her.

“You’re not sorry for your actions, your just sorry that you got caught,” you replied. “This is why you refuse to wear your wedding ring, isn’t it? It’s because it gives you the illusion that youre still a bachelor who can just fuck whoever the fuck he wants! Well, guess what Remus John Lupin now you can because I’m done! I’m done acting like the perfect little housewife who doesn’t notice that her husband is cheating on her,” you shouted so loud that you were sure to wake up everyone in a 15-mile radius.

“Calm down. Let’s sit down and talk about this like adults,” Remus tried to reason with you but you just shook your head from one side to the other.

“No, I have everything I need to know right in front of me. I hope that you and Tonks enjoy your life together,” you answered. “I’ll be sending you divorce papers soon,” you explained as you began to back out of the kitchen. You rushed up the stairs not caring if the floorboards creaked or not and ran to your room. You stuffed your bags full of everything you needed. You neatly wrote a note to explain everything that happened and where you would be to let whomever it concerned feel at ease knowing what happened. You rushed back down the stairs, bags in tow, and right out of the door. The icy cold weather perfectly described what you felt like inside.

You hoped all of this would just go away. You wish you could go back to the days of being a student at Hogwarts. You wished you could go back in time and relive the moments where your relationship with Remus was at its peak. When you two would go to Hogsmede and just enjoy each other’s company. But you can’t because this is real life and not some fairy tale where the main protagonist gets to experience a happy ending every single time.
