Prologue
Heretic, or Leilani Potter, had had a busy year that’s for sure.
After the discovery of her parents being alive but having abandoned her, she moved to things that interested her instead, seeing as she wasn’t interested in going to school or doing ‘normal’ jobs.
She went for something that fit her instead.
Building up her codename in the underworld while also creating a name for herself.
A down low philanthropist by day, her name only known to those high up and actually seeking her out, but a hacker/blackmailer/robin hood of sorts at night with her code name.
Her philanthropic work was also tied a bit to her other work.
After deciding to travel a bit, she’d settled into the hacker life after realizing politicians out there were tied to a lot of criminal works and associations.
She’d focused on finding their innermost secrets, some she released out to the public especially when it needed to, some she bargained money for.
She also went into buying stocks and shares with most which have her huge returns and she used to build up her philanthropic ways by donating to charities, helping out children homes, and the occasional buying of art pieces.
On the down low, she bought some homes which she turned into ‘Children Homes’, taking kids or teens like her off the street or out of abusive orphanages, and placing them in specific places she owned.
And with them, she began to build some of her networks.
Children were usually overlooked by the public, too bad they had no idea how much they soaked information like sponges.
And so, she made one of the homes her base of operations of sorts, allowing those who didn’t want to be adopted or had no trust in adults to work for her instead. A home where children couldn’t be adopted, but could feel useful.
Built up slowly to be able to put themselves in high places in the future, while also enjoying the availability of online schooling or public schooling through Heretic herself.
Some talented ones had even placed themselves in learning the arts. From learning ballet, to joining up drama clubs.
She also made sure they had authentic passports and information on the internet so questions wouldn’t be thrown here and there about the authenticity of the Children’s home and base of operations as they called it, which differentiated them from the normal ones owned by Heretic.
They had also begun training in fighting as well as hacking skills, through the help of some of the older teens.
Accessing information through safe channels in the web created by Heretic.
Sourcing out government secrets or secrets of those high up and leveraging them for money, help or information and then leaving their ‘tramp stamp’ afterwards.
The Orphans, they were called.
Heretic of course, made sure focus was made on child and sex trafficking and even though it was just a year… she believed progress was happening, no matter how slow, no matter how her name, Heretic, was still seen as a small up and coming trouble making nuisance… she would start from somewhere… and she would build her way up, until she stood at the top, like a winner.
