Teachers pt.3
Being introduced to the school in America, Salem institute of Magic, Harry was sorted into their equivilent of Slytherin although there was a lot less predudice than in Hogwarts and Britan. Harry was older than most of the students and would be taught privately due to different levels of education. Harry was excited to be back in a school and was looking forward to making new memories in a school environment. Looking at the Headmaster in this school Harry found that dumbledore was not a good fit for Headmster as his views endangered the students that he was meant to care for.
Harry settled into a routine and loved helping teach and talking to the younger students, the higlight of being at the school was likely seeing people become more confident in themselves. The teachers Harry had were also brilliant and always stayed for more than a year, and probably the best part was they were all fully qualified for what they did. Harry had been invited to chat with the Headmaster and was curious to see what they wanted. He knocked on the door. He was called into the office and took a seat when the headmaster gestured.
"I just wanted to ask, Harry, if you were interested in looking at wand making? I have seen you reading many books about different things related to magic and thought you might be interested."
"I have never really thought about but I would be interested. To be honest I have only ever seen one wand shop which is Ollivander's in Diagon Alley."
"Ollivander is a good wand maker but only ever makes light wands as well as only being premade which leads to less connected wands and wizards."
"Well I am certainly interested, do you have a book on this I can borrow?"
"I have one here, this is just basic information so if you want to go more in depth just come back and ask."
"Thank you, Headmaster."
Harry spent the rest of the year at Salem institute and was sad to leave but looked forward to the fighting he would do in Japan although he would be sore. Saying goodbye to the school he got a phone, an American wizard got them to work with magic, and a book which had names and discriptions of people from Salem, Harry planned on adding other people from his travels in.
Finally landing in Japan he was greeted by a young man, who reminded him of Snape in expression, standing next to an elderly man who looked to be his father.
"Welcome to Japan, Harry. I hope you are ready to train hard as we do not go easy."
"I am ready, although I would like to be settled in before any training."
"Wise idea," came from the Snape like one. "You do not have the muscle and will strain them jumping right in. Do not be lazy, I would suggest a strech and jog every morning."
"Thank you, I will try to do that."
"Ah forgive my manners, I seem to be forgetting them in my age. I am Akira and this is Ichiro."
Harry was interested in the Japanese architecture as he had never seen anything like it. Settling in, Harry was treated to a more traditional Japanese dinner and found he liked many of the foods.
"Harry, what kinds of fighting have you done before?"
"I have mainly done wand focused magic fights and running from fights, I have not done any non-magical fighting but I do want to learn."
"Good. We do not focus on magical fighting here and it is good we can focus in non-magical fighting."
Learning fighting was hard, Harry realised but he was glad that he had taken Ichiro's suggestion and started jogging and streching every morning as it made his muscles less sore at the end of the day. Harry had started taking his afternoons to read and write to the different people he met and kept contact with although he prefered to not write very often, he also spent afternoons practicing Elemantal magic and Potions alone. Torest had actually met Ichiro and organised to meet up for a face to face chat with both men. Torest was looking forward to seeing the change in Harry and was certainly not disappointed if his whistling was any indication.
After being around Ichiro for so long he started to pick up some mannerisms and found the sarcasm funny and witty. Harry found the rythm of fighting enchanting and loved learning new moves, he was also getting more flexible. Ichiro also decided that Harry would learn how to look at magic interaction since he did have the skill but never used it.
Harry was completely different at the end of his stay. He was tall, around 6' 4", he was tanned, from all the time in the sun, he had lost his glasses and he was well muscled from all his training. If you didn't know him you wouldn't recognise him.
A few months into his stay in Japan he got a letter from Britan about a law possibly being passed. The law was that any person over the age of 18 had to marry, there would be a submissive and dominant in all partnerships. There was a form attached which he had to fill out in case the law did pass. He had to put down his prefered position, dominant, his sexuality, gay, and if he had a person he would like to marry among other things. Harry filled it out and sent it back before forgetting about it for the rest of his stay in Japan.
Harry was disappointed that his trip was ending but enjoyed learning in all the different places and having a break from Britan and being the boy-who-lived and man-who-defeated. He said goodbye, took a portkey back to british Grimgotts and apparated to Grimmauld Place.
