Ring
It was a promise, but promises could be broken. In fact, Astoria had never been made a promise that was ever kept. This was no different. Theo had promised that he would be different, that they would be different. The Ministry had promised that life was rebuilding, that there was no reason to fear. It had only been three years, and all the promises were breaking around her.
Theo was gone. Where? Astoria didn’t know, but she knew that he was piss drunk, that she always knew. Her fingers spun the ring around her fourth finger as she paced from the hallway, through the dining area, and back. He had promised he would be careful. She had wanted to escape, he had wanted revenge. He had told her he found him, his father, and all he needed was a word and they would go. She had to understand, they all had the same battles with their families. She had begged and begged and begged, to leave him to die alone. Theo had promised he would be careful.
Still she spun that ring on her finger until Blaise stepped through her floo network alone.
