Residential schools versus Hogwarts: A comparison
The Residential schools served a single purpose: convert the First Nations into the Christianity religion. It was an unorthodox method that meant assimilating their own religion in order to “save” them.
So how does this compare to Hogwarts?
Well if we look at the classes, the focus is entirely on wizarding subjects such as DADA, Charms, and Divination. There are none of the subjects that muggleborns are used to seeing, like maths, science, or even extra classes like Band or 2nd languages. Now, why is this?
There is a small chance that they forgot about these subjects, but when you take into account the injustice and bribery the Ministry seems to be built on, you’ll find that this is not the case.
It is more likely that this a form of assimilating the muggleborn’s culture, and converting them to the wizard’s world.
To purebloods, this may not seem that bad. But, that’s the only life they’ve experienced. To us, the muggleborns, it’s like going from Britain to China and not having a guide. Muggleborns have a substantially harder time finding jobs within the Ministry, and since we’ve basically have had no schooling in the muggle world, we can’t find jobs there either.
Do you see the problem here, Minister Fudge? 500 or so Muggleborns, reduced to poverty, all because of a single law passed by a biased Minister in 1540.
Muggleborns may NOT take higher positions in the Ministry.
I urge you to take this law down, to change Britain for the better. Would you like us to be known as biased bitches, or would you like Britain to be known as the best magical country in the world?
