the last night - regulus black
He held her tight,
All knowing this would be their last night in each others arms.
As she slept soundly,
Completely unknowing of the words she will read on her nightstand just the next morning.
As the black ink on his forearm burned under the long sleeve nightshirt he wore,
He knew it was time.
How he longed for another day,
To remind her how much he loved her,
Cherished her.
But this was for the good,
Right?
He’ll prove it,
That he’s good,
That he can help,
Fight the war,
And win.
But at what cost?
He softly unwrapped her arms from around him,
Got out of the warm bed,
And opened the desk draw in search of some parchment.
‘My dear,
I am so sorry to be doing this to you right now, but you must understand my love, this is for the good. Everything will be alright, I promise you.
As you’re reading this, it means I am no longer here. I’ve figured it out, where his horcruxes are, and I’m going to make sure they go away. But by doing that I am almost certain my life will be the cost.
I have sent kreacher home to you, and he will explain this to you in greater detail,
I am always with you, even though you can’t see me, or hear me. I am watching over you, keeping you safe. I have always told you you’re my angel, and you will always be, but right now it’s switched up a bit, now I can be your guardian angel. I’m always here, with you.
I love you, infinitely,
Be brave sweetheart,
Love, Regulus
