I come from a family of Hufflepuffs. Like ever since the beginning of Hogwarts both sides of my family have been in Hufflepuff. So, when I first came to Hogwarts in 2001; I thought that I would be put into Hufflepuff automatically because of my family lineage. When Professor Longbottom put the sorting hat onto my head; it said: "Oh Holly Plake from a long lineage of Hufflepuffs. But I think Holly might be better in Slytherin. Decisions decisions...you possess qualities of both Slytherin and Hufflepuff." I think in my head, "Please put me in Hufflepuff." The sorting hat yells, "HOLLY PLAKE...HUFFLEPUFF!" I smile as my Hogwarts tie turns into a yellow and black striped tie; and, that my uniform now had the badger on it.
As the years went by, I was starting to go crazy in Hufflepuff. Yeah sure I loved the girls I was rooming with but at the same time I couldn't help but think of what would happen if I was put into Slytherin.
One day after potions, Professor Malfoy asks, "Miss Plake, are you sure that you were supposed to be in Hufflepuff?" I never told anyone how the sorting hat almost put me into Slytherin. I speak up and say, "Professor Malfoy, I never told anyone this but the sorting hat was going back and forth about putting me into Hufflepuff or into Slytherin. As you know, my family is all Hufflepuffs like yours is all Slytherin except for Sirius Black. I just didn't want to become the black sheep of the family." Professor Malfoy nods and says, "You possess qualities of both houses." I smile. Professor Malfoy says, "Your secret is safe with me." I say, "Thank you, sir."
Needless to say, my favorite professor throughout the rest of my years at Hogwarts was Professor Malfoy. I realized that it was okay to have traits from multiple houses. I guess that you might say that I am a Slytherpuff.
