A Change

It wasn't really like he had a choice. Severus Snape had been forced to come and meet the other PoTteR and as soon as they apparated to the weird looking house in Amity Park, the potions professor got ready to meet an annoying brat who thought he knew better than anyone else. Just like James used to.

When Dumbledore rang the bell, the greasy haired professor noticed that he was a bit nervous, he didn't quite understand why. It was just a boy. Lily's boy.
When the door opened he expected to be met with a copy of Harry Potter, instead it was a girl with red hair and mesmerising aqua coloured eyes. She seemed to be around 17/18 and she looked very confused.

"I don't know you," She stated with a light smile and looked at the two men expectantly and added a little arrogantly "and I know basically everyone in this town". Albus nodded and motioned towards him and then Snape "I am Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts and this is Severus Snape, the potions master."
"Potions" she asked bewildered "I don't know if you are joking or not. May I help you with something? We don't buy stuff if that's why you're here."

Snape couldn't help but snort a bit. He, a wizard and potions master, going from door to door selling stuff. Actually, he could see himself doing that, though he doubted he would be very successful. Again Dumbledore took the lead "I'm afraid you can't help us, however your parents and your little brother should."

The smile disappeared from her face and cold, calculating eyes washed over the two wizards. It gave them the chills.
"Sorry but all three are away on private business. So you better go and not come back."
"Ah, but I believe it could be in your best interest to let us in. We just want to talk about your brother's future and some aspects of his past, Jazzmine." The girl, Jazzmine, stared at him and furrowed her eyebrows "What, exactly, do you mean?"

Albus Dumbledore smiled friendly "It would be better to discuss this when your parents are back. They should know about it and you should hear it from them."
This time the smile came back and enlightened her face "Fair enough but if you try something funny you're gonna regret it. My parents may be ghost hunters but there are enough hidden weapons in the house that can take out humans as well." With that she turned around but let the door open. The two men allowed themselves in.

The indoor architecture was pretty normal, a u-shaped couch and a tv. A door probably leading to the kitchen, a set of stairs leading down and one leading up, nothing like you would expect from ghost hunters. Then Severus remembered, the weapons and stuff were all hidden. Fun. He was too tired for such things and he definitely didn't get paid enough.

Jazzmine motioned towards the couch and both wizards seated themselves. Five minutes later the young girl came back with three cups of tea and some cake that seemed to... glow? Better not eat that. The girl sat down herself and then they just looked at each other for several minutes until she broke the silence "My parents should be back in about thirty minutes, knowing my dad's driving style either less or more. Can't be too sure."
She spaced out and followed her own thoughts. Snape just drank the tea, it was surprisingly good, for an American.

He felt the need to say something "Maybe we shouldn't keep you in the dark. Your parents are probably going to explain most of it themselves but you shall at least know what we are." The girl just raised an eyebrow as if to ask 'what'? Don't you mean 'who' you are?
The headmaster took over, closed his eyes and then looked back at her "We are no ordinary people and in this world there is so much more than you could ever imagine, young lady. There is magic and there are people who can use this magic called a wizard or witch. Your brother is probably a wizard."

Jazzmine stared and stared and all her face colour seemed to drain until she was unhealthily pale. Her mouth was opened wide and you could almost hear her thinking until she said with a surprisingly calm voice "Why should I believe you? Prove it now."
Snape reached for his wand but Dumbledore shook his head "We better wait for your brother to arrive so the two of you can share your very first experience with magic together." Snape rolled his eyes, she would still be amazed the second time, it was magic after all but whatever.

The young girl pouted "I hope you realize that until then I have marked you up as 'crazy' and only allow you to stay because my parents will be able to handle you much better than I." The headmaster nodded in understanding. A couple more minutes passed and finally the door burst open and a huge man in an orange hazmat suit entered yelling "Jazzypants, Dannyboy, we are back!".

A woman with red hair and a blue hazmat suit followed after the man, holding what looked like a fishing rot and added "We brought some samples for new experiments and..." she trailed off after noticing the two strangers on the couch "who are you?" she asked confused.
The white haired man introduced himself once again "My name is Albus Dumbledore and I am the headmaster of Hogwarts, this is one of my colleagues and the potions master, Severus Snape."

The woman paled and sat down next to Jazz, she looked at Snape "Severus? I heard about you. From Lily." She may not have intended to hurt the poor man but knowing that Lily talked about him hit him hard. He just knew that it wasn't anything good she could've said, not after what he did. Albus however beamed "That's great, so you know about Lily and I assume James?"

The redhead, who still hasn't introduced herself nodded, the colour coming back. She looked at her husband and the previously very confused man understood. He sat down next to his wife and side hugged her.
"So I take it you are here because of Danny? Oh I am Madeleine by the way but Maddie is fine. This is my husband Jack." Jack grumbled but eventually smiled. He took a piece of the eerily glowing cake and ate it in one bite.

Snape watched the huge man with surprise and eyed the cake suspiciously once again. He wondered what Lily could have told Maddie about him. Before he could ponder any longer Jazz spoke up "Mom, Dad. These two men say that they are wizards. But that's impossible, right?"

Maddie seemed to hesitate for a bit before she slowly nodded "Yes, they are." Jazz just nodded, it seemed like she trusted her parents more than Severus would have thought. She was still wary but that was understandable. Before anyone could say anything Maddie started to sob, startling everyone in the room. Jack placed a hand on her back and smiled sadly. The red head sobbed once more and then quietly asked "We have to tell Danny, don't we?"

The headmaster, who was definitely surprised at the mother's reaction nodded his head "We are actually here to offer him a place at our school. It wouldn't be completely necessary but I only learnt that the boy was actually alive today."
For some reason his statement managed to put some smiles on their faces but Jazz was still confused. Why did they talk about Danny so indifferently, he was their son and what would they have to tell him?

Wait... Jazz suddenly noticed something she never paid attention to before because she thought it was silly. While there were pictures of her mom's pregnancy with her, there were none with Danny's. There were no pictures of Danny up until he was about a year old but there were some of her after she was born. Could it perhaps be that Danny, her sweet and brave baby brother was adopted? It would fit, he did have their dad's jet black hair but that was all there was. His ice blue eyes were thought to come from Maddie's side of the family but the eye colour was still vastly different.

The adults had started talking again but Jazz interrupted them. She stared at her parents and asked calmly "Is Danny adopted?" Jack and Maddie looked at her in surprise but then they reminded themselves that Jazz was everything but stupid or oblivious and they nodded. Jazz just accepted it, as an after thought she added "That's okay with me. He is still my brother no matter what. Whatever you do don't make him feel like he is not part of our family anymore as soon as you tell him."

Jack looked outraged "What? Why would we treat him any differently, we raised him as a Fenton and he is our son and your brother." A little bit calmer he added "we love him as much as we love you, Jazzypants."

Jazz smiled and after a moment so did her parents.

The wizards could only stare in wonder and ask themselves if every muggle family was like this one. So full of trust and understanding and acceptance, it was an admirable sight. They continued to wait until Jack started to bounce up and down as if it was really hard for him to stay still for longer than just a couple of minutes. Maybe he had something that the muggles called 'ADHD'? Severus wasn't too sure and it didn't matter, the huge man asked his daughter where his son was and Jazz blushed a little

"He took Sam on a date and should be back soon enough." Jack boomed and laughed happily "Our boy, quite the charmer, isn't he. I knew he and Sammy would be a serious thing." Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say because Maddie made a face "I just hope he really is serious, imagine having to add Pamela to our family and then they break up, urgh."

Both Jack and Jazz laughed and after a few seconds Maddie joined them, albeit a little less joyfully.

It wasn't long after that when they heard the key turn in the front door and everyone tensed up. Gone was the happy atmosphere and it was instead replaced with something heavy. Snape noticed how much he himself anticipated this moment and it was finally here. He would see for himself if the boy was Lily's son.

The door opened and Harry entered. No, not Harry, Danny. The boy had the same raven black and messy hair as James and Harry, he was wearing a white shirt and blue shorts with red sneakers. When the boy looked up, Severus was met with electric blue eyes, they were nothing like Lily OR James but there was the same kindness and loyalty in them that he always adored on Lily's.

His face was the same as the other Potter, though he didn't wear glasses and he wasn't as scrawny as Harry. Danny's skin was a little paler as well, maybe he had a vitamin D deficiency, Severus didn't know and didn't care. Well, maybe he did. There was something different about Danny that made him think of Lily first and James second. It was weird. It also scared him, he couldn't be touched by a boy he only just met. He was probably just as arrogant as his twin, yeah. Because Harry was so annoying and wrong all the time. Sometimes even Snape had problems believing himself.

He was very interested in how this meeting would turn out.
