Narcissa is trans
"Narcissa is trans."
"I know?" Severus replied, looking up from his copy of Oliver Twist.
"When did she transition?"
"When she was nine, I think....What's gotten you so interested in the topic?"
"I think....I can't say much, but....I think one of my siblings might be trans."
"How come?"
"He just...seems uncomfortable in masculinity. And always looks happier when wearing more feminine stuff. Also, he sort of told me."
"He told you?"
"Sorta." Remus sounded unconvinced himself.
"What does sorta mean?"
"Well, I was ten and I can't say his age or else you would know who it was, and he told me he was a girl. I didn't know how to react so just said okay....And continued misgendering him. He hasn't brought it up since, or told anyone else as far as I can tell."
"I would definitely talk to him about it. This is serious, especially if he thinks the only person he has ever come out to, his brother, doesn't accept him....It could be vital to his life continuing."
"...."
"Rem?"
"How do I even start that conversation?"
"Tell him about me."
"W-what?"
"Tell him about how your boyfriend is trans....Like finding a time when it's appropriate and talk about my period or something."
"When would that be appropriate, though?"
"I don't know....You know how you buy me pads sometimes?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, when you're hanging with him one day say something like 'Oh, yeah. I have to buy my boyfriend pads.' He'll say something like 'Why?', and you can segue it from there."
"Okay....That could work....But, how do I bring him into the conversation?" Remus wondered, twirling a strand of his pink hair.
"Hmmm." Severus considered. "You could find a way to turn the conversation into people not being trans. Like how you wear fem clothes sometimes, but you're a cis boy. Which could lead to you asking him how he felt about clothes and gender. All while keeping it casual."
"You're way too good at this." Remus laughed, feeling a wave of relief wash through him.
"It comes with having so many queer friends, I guess....Not all, many in fact, were ready to accept their not cishetness....Obviously, I had to fix that, but I couldn't be too direct. And, well....You get it."
Remus nodded. "Thanks, for this whole conversation."
"Of course." Severus smiled back. Anything for Remus. Anything for a possibly trans person.
