A series of coming out
Story 1: Freya, 2010
It was five years after Hera had come out of the closet as trans and the family were sitting at the table eating dinner. When Freya suddenly stood up in her chair, and after struggling for a little under a minute, manged to get everyone quiet.
"You all know what nonbinary means right?" the redhead asked.
Most of the members answered affirmatively. However, after the younger kids denied knowing said word their father quickly explained it.
Once the 30 year old was finished Freya began speaking again.
"Okay, now. I'm nonbinary. And I want to try using they/them pronouns. Got it?"
"Sure, love" Hermione began before continuing "What about your name though? Do you want to keep it Freya? Or change it?"
"Keep it Freya for now." the seventh born child said before sitting back down.
With that done the family went back to their dinner not reacting as if anything was different from normal.
Story 2: 'Dristan', 2011
Harry looked up as he heard someone enter his office. Turning around in his seat he saw Dristan standing in front of the now closed door.
"Dad" he began tentatively.
"Yes, Dristan?"
"I need to talk to you about something."
"Well, what is it, love?"
Deciding to cut to the chase the normally bold six year old said "I'm a girl."
Harry was quiet for a moment thinking.
'Was Dristan really a girl or was he just copying Hera and Freya. After all three trans kids seemed like a lot. But, it wasn't like he could deny Dristan the right to an unbiased opinion. So, he would believe him-her unless proven otherwise.'
"Okay, love. Do you have a name picked yet?"
"Yes." the young girl exclaimed and without being prompted said "My name is Ariadne Nicola."
"Wow, that's a very pretty name! Did you pick it yourself?"
"Yes, mostly. Hera helped a bit."
"So, Hera already knows?"
"Yes."
"Does anyone else?"
"No, you two are the only ones. Though I am planning on going and telling mom now."
"Okay, sweetie. Love you."
"Love you to." And with that the girl left her fathers office in search of her mother.
Story 3: 'Henry', 2015
"Hera, Ariadne." Henry said walking into the first named girls room.
"Yeah, Hen?" Hera asked looking at her younger brother.
"So, um, you are both trans girls."
"Yeah?" Aria said confusedly.
"So, I thought it would be a good idea to talk to you guys. Considering the fact that I am to." The ten year old said.
"Wait. Your a girl?" Ariadne said.
Henry looked down, afraid her sisters wouldn't accept her. Or would think she was copying them. "Yes. Um, I like the name Mars by the way. I wanted to ask you about middle names and um, if you thought Mars, fit me." She said in a quiet, nervous tone.
"Alright." Hera said. "I think Mars is a good name and if you like it you should use it."
Aria nodded to what her sister said then began her own sentence.
"As for middle names you could do Jasmine, perhaps. It has a similar etymology as Jacob, but still sounds different. Plus, it would honor dads parents since Jasmine sounds like James and it's a flower."
"Jasmine." Mars said testing the name out. "Mars Jasmine Potter."
Smiling Mars went over to the bed were her sisters were sitting and hugged them both.
"Thank you, I love that name."
"It was nothing" her twin said.
"Yeah." Hera chimed in. "Anything for my favorite baby sister."
"Hey! I thought I was your favorite."
"You are, you're just not my 'baby' sister."
Pumping her arm in the arm Aria said "Yes!"
"That's not fair. Were the same age." Mars whined.
"Shut up." the two other girls said at the same time making the group resolve into laughter.
Story 4: Lavender, 2018
"Mom."
"Yes, princess?" Hermione asked.
Flinching slightly Lavender said "Well, this isn't easy to say but I have to. You see I have been thinking about something for a while now. And at first I thought it was nothing, and that I was just trying to get attention. And copy the others. But I've realized that I can't keep living how I have been. I know you might not believe me, I am really feminine, after all. But, it's the truth. I swear!"
"What is the truth?" Hermione questioned her 13 year old child.
Lavender paused for a second before finally saying what the whole conversation was about.
"I still use the same name. But, um, I am trans. I'm a boy, I mean."
Hermione walked a few feet over to were her son was sitting, freaking out.
Hugging him Hermione said "It's okay, honey. I believe you."
"Y-you do?"
"Mhmm." Hermione said into her child's hair.
"Okay." Lavender said hugging his mother harder and trying not to cry from joy.
Story 5: Daedalus, 2019
"...and then they did a back flip!" Maria, one of Dael's friends said excitedly, speaking to Harry and Hermione.
"They?" Hermione questioned making Dael freeze.
"Dael" Harry began. "Do you use they/them pronouns?"
"Yeah, well mostly. I use all pronouns really, but I like they/them best." the 14 year old enby replied uncharacteristically nervous.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Hermione asked frowning slightly.
Shrugging Dael said "I don't know. It just didn't seem like that big of a deal, I mean I still use he/him pronouns anyway. And I didn't want you to think I was lying since so many of the others are trans."
"We would never." Harry said and Hermione agreed.
"I guess that makes since, sorry."
"You don't need to apologize, you haven't done anything wrong." Their mom said.
"Okay, thanks."
"Of course." the only present adult male(or male at all) said.
