Chapter 3

Lena Luthor had been having a completely normal day.

Okay maybe not completely normal, but normal for her.

She had been in the middle of filling out her third stack of paperwork whilst simultaneously doing a phone call meeting with a business man from China, an extremely sexist and boring business man who couldn't learn to not talk her ear off if he wanted a donation.

Every time she had gone to hang up, it just seemed as if he'd realize this and draw her into a whole new direction with his conversation.

Lena wanted to create teleportation just so she could teleport to China and slap the man in the face for all the trouble he's put her through on this nearly two and a half hour phone call.

A beep sounded from the phone, someone else wanting to converse with her.

But Lena sadly had to finish this conversation with the business man so she declined it without seeing who it was.

Which seemed to be a mistake because suddenly her personal phone was ringing and she had to put the business man on hold whilst she answered it.

Her personal phone number was only given out to people she was close to, and they wouldn't call unless it was an emergency, so of course she was going to pick up.

"Hello?" Lena said as she waited to see what this call could be about.

"Lena, good you answered. I tried to call you on your work phone but you seemed busy, so it left me with no choice but to call you on your personal phone." Alex's voice rang loud and clear through the speaker of Lena's phone.

"Alex! What's the emergency?" Lena sat up now way more attentive when she realized who it was.

Alex didn't call her often, and generally when she does it was because Kara was hurt. Or well, Supergirl was hurt, but it was the same difference.

Lena had actually found out about Supergirl's identity from Reign of all people, or well, she found out because of Reign.

When Kara was in a coma, Alex had done the one thing she promised herself that she'd never do and had outed Kara's secret without as much as a second thought, because two brains were better than one and having Lena's help was important.

Of course, instead of saying Supergirl was hurt, Alex had accidentally blurred out that it was Kara that was hurt and then when Lena came, she was shocked to find herself at the DEO, and with Kara being in a tank, in her superhero suit.

Lena was of course upset that Kara didn't tell her herself, but, she could also somewhat understand why Kara didn't tell her too.

So when they separated Reign from Sam (well more like the Alter-Ego and not the powers), they sat down and had a long and nice talk about secrets and why they were bad for friendships.

It was a five hour long talk filled with lots of tears, hugs, and cuddling, and even if neither would admit it, those five hours were also filled with massive amounts of sexual tension that neither were ready to think about at the time.

Lena shook herself out of her thoughts and tried to focus back in on the conversation that was about to happen.

"I need you to get to the DEO as fast as you can. I can't say much about the situation over the phone, but I can tell you that it is an emergency. Though thankfully it's not much of a medical situation anymore. Kara has requested that you be here." Alex said.

"I'll be there as soon as I can." Lena said.

Alex had just given her an out to use against the business man.

Lena hung up on Alex, and then brought her work phone up to her ear and took the hold button off.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Nakamura, it seems that a work emergency has popped up, I will have to go now. But I will be thinking on what you pitched and I will take it up with the board." Lena said as politely as she could before automatically hanging up because she didn't want to give the man a chance to somehow find a way to keep talking.

Lena then packed up her bag and walked out of her office.

Jess looked up in surprise when she walked out of her office, clearly not having expected her to leave this early in the morning.

"Jess clear my schedule for the rest of the day, an emergency has popped up, one that I can not ignore. Also, can you clear Sam's schedule as well. I'll need her for the rest of the day. Then you can go home." Lena said.

Jess seemed surprised by what she's been told but nodded and set to work on clearing her schedule. "Of course Miss. Luther." Jess said.

Lena texted Sam to meet her at the car park, seeing as Sam could fly, they'd be able to make it to the DEO in about 2 minutes give or take.

...

Sam got the text and was down in the car park within five minutes.

"Lena, what's going on? You never leave work this early. It's only 10 a.m." Sam said as she tried to figure out what was wrong with her best friend, honestly more like her sister nowadays.

"Alex called." Lena said. At the mention of her girlfriend's name, Sam perked up and grew a worried expression on her face.

"What's going on? Is kara okay? I don't believe I've seen any Supergirl situations in the TV nor was I called in for a big villain showdown." Sam immediately questioned.

Ever since Sam found out that she was Kryptonian, she had found this unspoken connection to Kara. With Sam wanting to know everything about Krypton, and Kara being extremely excited to teach someone about her home planet.

Seeing as Clark never tried to learn more than he needed to control his powers, even when Kara offered to teach him. He only knew passable Kryptonese, even Sam who was just starting to learn knew more about Krypton than he did, and Lena who'd walked in on quite a few of their lessons knew more than Kal-El did.

It was honestly quite sad to Kara, but being able to teach Sam and Lena made her feel better about her blood not wanting to learn about his origins.

It hurts almost as much as him abandoning her in the first hour that she'd even been on Earth. Seeing as family was a big thing on Krypton.

Maybe that's why she and Alex seemed to have an unshakable bond. She latched onto the closest familial feeling and never let it go.

Kara and Sam seemed to just gravitate towards one another, especially when Kara took Sam under her wing and taught her the average everyday things that having powers just seemed to complicate.

Like who knew that you needed to know a mathematical equation for how much pressure to exert when you walk so that you don't crack the floor.

Or how much pressure you needed to exert to sit down.

There was a lot of cracked floors and broken chairs that had to be replaced in the months after Sam started to train.

Lena didn't know how hard it was to be Kryptonian, but with all the repairs she had to get done at Sam's home.

"I don't know. All Alex said was that it wasn't a medical emergency anymore. Which meant it had once been a medical emergency. Just that Kara asked me to come." Lena said.

Sam nodded and lifted Lena up before taking flight.

Normally Lena would be hiding her face into the crook of the neck, but that was something she only did with Kara, seeing as this was her first time flying with Sam.

Lena noticed it wasn't as smooth as flying with Kara, but it wasn't terrible.

Maybe because Kara had more experience in flying? Or it could be the massive crush she harbored for the girl of steel that made the flight that much more enjoyable.

When they landed, Alex was immediately there to greet them.

"Oh good, you got here relatively fast. Lena you can head to the med bay, Kara will fill you in, meanwhile I've got Sam to fill in. But I feel like you should be allowed to react to the situation at hand privately. We'll be in, in like 20 minutes." Alex said as she grabbed Sam by the hand and led her away from Lena who was wondering just what was happening.

Lena walked down the hall towards the med bay, specifically the sun room med bay, and that made Lena wonder if Kara solar flared, or maybe she had to get her system flushed of Kryptonite?

Lena's heels clicked on the floor like they normally did, and as she entered the room she was shocked to find not just Kara, but a young boy sitting on the hospital bed.

Lena closed the door behind her and simply just stared at the two, wondering who in the world this was?

"Supergirl, what's going on?" Lena asked after noticing that her best friend/secret crush was in her super suit.

"There's no need for formalities Lee. Lorcan already knows my secret identity." Kara said as she ruffles the boy's blond locks.

"Ieiu, stop it." The boy whined as he tried to duck away from her hands.

Lena tried to think if she had ever heard that word before, but she can't say that she had. It was clearly Kryptonian in origin, but she couldn't place it as of yet.

Sam probably would've been able to, but Lena had only just started joining language classes with Kara.

"Well then, yellow Lorcan, I'm Lena Luthor." Lena said as she held her hand out for a handshake.

The boy looked at her weird, something akin to pain flashed in his eyes, but it was gone before Lena could comment on it.

He looked towards Kara, as if she would be able to help him with whatever situation he seemed to have, and she gave him an encouraging nod and a pat on the back.

Lorcan grabbed her hand and gave it a soft shake.

"Lorcan Luthor-Danvers at your service." Lorcan said with a sunshine smile that had Kara written all over it.

But Lena froze as he introduced himself.

Luthor-Danvers seemingly crashing against all of her mental walls, playing on repeat in her head.

The hyphenated name sounded too good, it seemed to roll off of his tongue like he'd said if hundreds of times. Which he probably has given that it was his last name.

"Kara?" Lena said looking towards the blond haired reporter.

"Lena, meet our son. From the future." Kara said slowly, as if she could understand all of Lena's emotions (which to be honest she probably could), and was trying to soothe the worry that Lena immediately seemed to start to build up.

Son. It was a simple word, and get it changed absolutely everything.

Their son, not only did it give Lena hope that there could be a possible future where her and Kara had gotten married and chosen to have a child together.

A perfect boy so it seemed. A complete mix between the two of them.

He had Kara's blond hair, Lena's own piercing green eyes, Kara's sun kissed skin, Lena's killer jawline and cheekbones, Kara's chin and her pouty lips, Lena's nose and eyebrows. Kara's eye shape and eyelashes.

He also seemed to be building up on some muscles and seemed to so far be growing at a somewhat moderate pace given that he was 5'5 at 13 years old.

Lorcan smiled as he saw his mom observe him, trying to analyze everything that she could about him.

But he also knew that there wasn't much besides his looks that she could analyze at the very moment.

"It's good to meet you mom from the past." Lorcan said giving a cheeky smile that she's seen Kara give when she was feeling in the playful mood.

Lena's breath hitched at being given a title that she never thought she'd be called by. But watching it slip from this boy's mouth somehow made the situation feel all too real to Lena.

"Nice to meet you too Lorcan. That's an interesting name." Lena commented.

Lorcan smiled, and leaned forward as if he was about to admit some secret. "Well you're Irish and had decided to embrace the culture sometimes down the line, naming me an Irish name just seemed natural. Though it has to be something that flowed off of the tongue." Lorcan said with a smile.

"I quite like it." Kara said with a small smile on her face.

"I do too." Lena mumbled in awe.

They had a son. A real son who was sitting right in front of them and they honestly had no idea what to do.

Only time can really tell.
