The next time James saw you he was assigned to get any information out of you, as Lucius Malfoys fiancée you must hear a lot, if it's true he's a death eater then you can confirm it
And since he's your ex he must know how to get stuff out of you, which true he can, so Dumbledore assigned him to this task
But James walks over to you as you were drinking by yourself at the bar
"Hey y/n," James says and you look over and smile
"Hi." You say and you were kinda glad to see him again
James saw your black eye it looked new.....and seeing it made James wanna run and hurt Lucius Malfoy
But he has to stay on track if he can keep his anger in check
"Well guess we can catch up some more," James says and you nod you'd like that
"So are you seeing anyone?" You ask and James shakes his head
"No I haven't since us, mostly decided to take a very long break since everything," James says and you look down
"I'm sorry." You say as if it was your fault, James whipped his head to look at you shocked
"Sorry? It wasn't your fault y/n." James says and you looked shocked
"I don't understand." You say and James sighs
"It was an accident ok? It wasn't your fault at all miscarriages happen, and you were under a lot of stress so of course, you had one, I never blamed you I blamed myself for not doing better." James says and you shake your head as you grab his hand then quickly pull away
And start getting scared as you stared at a group of people
James looked over and saw a snake on the arm peeking out of one of the men's shirt, death eaters and he saw blond hair from the man he saw the snake, but his face was covered, and how your acting he know this is Lucius Malfoy so he is a death eater huh?
James grabbed your hand and disapparated away with you
"Ok, now we can talk," James says and you were confused and see you were at a house
"What?" You say so confused and James grabbed your arms and rolled your sleeves up
"Ok good you're not one of them yet," James says and you were so confused what was going on?
"What's going on?" You say demanding he tells you now
"I know your fiancé is a death eater, if you want to stop this war any information you have would be great," James says and you were shocked he found out
"James I'm gonna get in trouble with you taking me and leaving, I can't get in anymore." You say and James touches your black eye making you flinch as you close your eyes
"You can trust me y/n, look I don't wanna do this but I was the one assigned to this job, now if you could at least send me a letter, or even meet me somewhere with the information you have I promise it would help stop him and we could stop this war," James says and you didn't love Lucius so you'd willingly betray him in a minute, and you still love James so you wanna tell him what you hear in that manor
"Ok." You say and James then sits you down on a couch and grabs something and puts it on your black eye
"Here it'll help heal your eye." James says and you smile but then sigh
"I need to start heading back and thinking of a lie to tell Lucius so I don't get another black eye." You say and James didn't wanna let you leave but he did knowing you'll be seeing him soon
'I really can't believe she blamed herself, I'm the one to blame I should have made sure she wasn't stressed, I should have done her schoolwork for her I should have done more, I'm the one who needs to be blamed not her.'
