Liar
As usual, Diana would talk to everyone during lunch time, and while doing it, look around to see where Eva would be hiding herself in the Academy. Sometimes she would found the other in the bathroom and insist for her to stop isolate herself, and other times surprisingly, she would found the Mathlete along to the others.
Today, it was the first time a certain person came to her and felt like talking.
"Diana, do you have a second?"
She was surprised by the appearance of Wenona, the Ultimate Entrepreneur. What the pink haired actually wanted was to find Eva right now, but it was a very unexpected thing to happen, what would Wenona want?
"Oh, don't need to look at me so surprised, it's nothing serious. We were just talking about Eva and i saw you walking close by and thought you'd like the talk."
"We"?
Then the Cosmetologist walked with the other girl as they approached to Wolfgang and Ulysses, who were standing behind Wenona.
"I said it wasn't necessary to bring Ms Venicia, I wouldn't like to make her uncomfortable." The lawyer says, furrowing his brows.
"We are just talking about our opinions on her, it's not anything hateful towards Eva, since she never did anything against me." Ulysses says.
"Ah, that's relieving. I wouldn't like to just stand and hear you guys saying bad things about my friend..." Diana says.
"So, do you know why she tried to change her title to 'The Ultimate Liar'"? Wenona asked the other.
"Yeah, she wanted to look more mysterious from what i understood, but I don't think that was necessary, she could still look cool as a Mathlete."
"Erm, no I can understand why she was embarrassed of that title..." Ulysses comments, sightly covering his face with his notepad.
"Sounds pretty childish for a 18 year old girl to think." The Entrepreneur comments.
"Her title might look embarrassing as in a social point of view, but I would have respect for her regardless of such thing as a title. Now, for someone to claim be the 'Ultimate Liar', it makes me angry."
"A-angry? Of Eva? She is much sweeter than you think, Wolfgang!" The pink haired blushes.
"I simply believe it's absurd for someone to be proud of being a liar, and for that reason, I decided to not get along with her."
"She is just uninteresting to me, just the person who everyone jokes about." Wenona chuckles as she speaks.
"I don't think i have any interesting topic to talk to her..." The historian comments.
Diana felt... Disappointed. Wenona wasn't a person she would usually talk to, but she casually speaks to Ulysses and Wolfgang. Why wouldn't they like Eva?
She goes back to class with a sad look, thinking of how much she wanted all her friends to like each other. At this point, what if she was some sort of joke as well? Because of being along to Eva--
"Oh? Girl, are you okay?" Kai asked as he sat on the chair in front of her.
"Yeah, just thoughtful." Diana doesn't lie, but doesn't tell him the truth either.
"About your girlfriend??" He smirks at Diana, poking her on the cheek.
"... Wait, Eva is not here." Diana notices. "She is never late to head back after lunch, where could she be right now?"
"Maybe she is not feeling well and went to the bathroom or the Nurse's Office?" The boy suggested.
"I will go there to check, tell the teacher I wasn't feeling well."
And the Cosmetologist was truly not well at all. Something about talking to Wenona earlier, along to all this feelings she has for Eva, has been causing a storm in her brain.
First stop at Nurse's Office, she wasn't there. Then she enters the feminine toilet, lots of girls were there doing their make up or gossiping before class starts. She asks for some Ultimates she knows if they've seen Eva.
"Black haired with white highlights... Yeah i think she entered the last cabin."
"Round glasses? Yup, she's in the last cabin!"
She waited for everyone to leave and quietly stopped in front of the only closed door left, the last cabin on the bathroom corner. Before she even knocked...
"...Leave me alone, Diana."
"Ah, Eva! You're really there, don't scare me like this, are you alright?"
The door is opened by the other, she walks past the Cosmetologist. "I don't want to talk to you now."
Diana grabs the other by the wrist. "Wait! What's going on--"
"Why would YOU care?!" Eva swings Diana's hand away from her arm. "I'm not on the mood to hear your optimistic talk!"
"I-I'm not going to say anything, just... Why are you so angry?" She tries approaching the other.
"Because of you. You're making me angry all the time."
"What... do you mean? I've been trying to make you happy, I--"
"Why were you talking to Wolfgang and Wenona?"
The pink haired is surprised. Eva must have seen her along to the Lawyer and the Entrepreneur far from their view.
"...Is that what this is about? They're my friends too, you know, I know you guys don't like each other but--"
"Friends. Everyone is a friend to you, do you even have someone special to you at all?" The black haired mocks the other, with anger on her tone.
"It's not like that. Eva, you... you are special to me!"
"STOP LYING!"
It was the first time she heard Eva screaming. Her hoarse voice coming out of her mouth sounded like if she was crying for so long.
"I'm not special to you. You're just saying that because you're pity of me, because you want me to feel loved."
"But I'm not lying! You're special to me as everyone else is!" Tears start falling from Diana's eyes.
"That's the GODDAMN POINT!" Eva screams again. "Why would you be friends with them if they hate me?! If you had to save either me or Wolfgang for falling of a cliff, would you even know what to do? Wouldn't you try saving both?!"
"I... I don't get what's bad about it, I wouldn't wish any of you do die." The pink haired embraces herself with her arms, as if she wanted to stop her body from shaking.
"...There is your answer. If everyone is equal to you, no one is special at all."
Diana didn't know how to contradict this. Would she put Eva over Wolfgang? To the Cosmetologist, things shouldn't be like this, every life has it's importance and every one deserves to be treated as a human being. Everyone... was her friend.
She was so used to please everyone that she forgot who she truly wanted to please.
The bathroom door slams in front of her. The mathlete leaving the other alone with all her confused thoughts and feelings. Eva is special to Diana, but would she leave people behind to go after her?
Would Diana change for her?
