Beneath the robes is our home
Gayle came running into the infirmary, just to see Poppy nearly crash into the man carrying the child.
"Put him on that bed, it's all ready."
Quickly Poppy began almost automatically administering all the proper medication for the situation, while Gayle conjured up some spells to ease Harry's breathing. Ron could only watch from a corner almost in shock and by the grace of Merlin, his inner horror caused him to storm off to the Headmaster's office to inform him of what had happened and see to it that they were not expelled.
About ten minutes later, Harry was in some very Gryffindor pajamas that had been lovingly given to him by Poppy and Gayle for just such situations. Although no one thought they'd have to wear them that quickly in all honesty.
Gayle sat heavily on another bed as he watched Harry's chest rise and fall and watched Poppy finish grooming the boy. Thankfully, they hadn't had to intubate him because Severus had been very picky with the medications, and that had made the boy's recovery easier.
Gayle let out a heavy sigh as he stretched his back. Poppy simply walked over to him and sat down next to him as she offered him some tea.
"He did it, he's very brave.”
"He's a Gryffindor... no one expects anything less from him.”
"He is a strong one, but he did it almost single-handedly.”
" Ronald Weasley told me the story...I hope Dumbledore listens to them because they were just unfortunate situations."
"Whatever it is, it can wait.
"The important thing is that he is breathing on his own, oh my boy."
"Thank you so much, Poppy, it all went so fast. I don't know what I would do without you"
"That's what we're here for, Doctor. "
" The correct phrase would be something I heard a professor say a few years ago: The doctor is the brain of the hospital and the nurse is the heart. If the brain fails, the heart keeps beating."
Gayle could only smile at her, as he sipped some more of his tea and Poppy's laughter calmed him from the hustle and bustle. The nurses were the anchor and salvation of his whole career purpose.
" I see calm reigns, although the situation I was informed doesn't seem to be as pressing as it used to be," Said Albus walking in with a very worried Minerva behind him, with a crying and sobbing Ron ."
" Albus please don't be insensitive," Said Minerva as she approached the bed to observe the state of Harry, who was sleeping soundly.
"It was urgent, but with Doctor Gayle, we were able to handle the situation perfectly," Poppy said as she handed the written report folder to the Headmaster.
Albus just glanced at her as he carefully read the documents.
"If you have any questions...if Severus has any questions," Gayle stammered.
Albus just held up his hand in a sign of not being necessary, as he gave the boy a soft smile.
"I see, Harr doesn’t need to be woken up for the commencement ceremony, let him rest. Mr. Weasley seems to have been very enlightening on the subject.".
"Severus is going to be worried," said Minerva.
"He will be informed later when he is available. For the moment it is not wise to disturb the activities he has in hand."
Instantly Gayle thought it must be a mission of the order. Everyone knew that tone of voice that meant he was not to be interrupted under any circumstances. Seizing the moment, Gayle got out of bed and proceeded to say goodbye.
"Gayle, are you sure your help won't be needed? "asked Minerva.
"No, I leave them in Poppy's capable hands. I was only summoned momentarily. I hope you can communicate the situation very assertively to Severus, I know he will be distressed, but he can always contact me by owl."
"Thank you very much for your services, Doctor"
"No problem. Have a quieter afternoon."
Gayle disappeared in a cloud of green sparks caused by the Floo.
"Professor Snape is going to kill me alive and I'm sure he'll chop me up for one of his potions," cried Ron.
"I know Professor Snape will be sympathetic to the situation you mentioned. It was a rash decision, but perhaps we too would have resorted to the same thing..." Dumbledore mentioned.
"Mr. Weasley, what in Merlin's name motivated you to take such an action, you could have killed yourself in the process.”
"Professor McGonagall...we really couldn't get through the wall, we weren't allowed to use wands and ...we were panicking, what if no one came back for us?"
"Not here Minerva. That sort of talk you can take back to your respective offices. Harry may have been listening and at the moment I just want my patient's peace of mind. Thank you "
" Poppy, we didn't mean to, it's just that this situation is really serious..."
"But understanding...now Professor Mcgonagall, let's retire to our office to determine what we will do with Mr. Weasley and Mr. Potter once we are certain and know the situation..."
"Poppy, have a happy afternoon. Let me know when he wakes up."
"He won't until tomorrow. Now, off to your chores."
"Happy afternoon.
Poppy set an alarm to let her know when he woke up or made Harry sicker, however, this would not happen until late in the evening.
Hogwarts corridor
"What are you saying?" Severus shouted across the school corridor as he grabbed Minerva by the shoulders.
"It's all right, he's in the infirmary. They had an accident with Mr. Weasley."
"I'm going to kill the boy..."
"First you must hear what happened.
Severus just followed Minerva into the infirmary, almost running. Anyone who saw them knew that they were not for jokes or silly situations.
Dumbledore's Office
" Professor, what I'm telling you happened just like that. I wouldn't have to lie to you." Ron had only just recounted in detail what had happened to them, but to his misfortune a front page of the Ford Anglia had arrived by owl, flying over the London clock. It was the worst day of his life.
"Mr. Weasley, you are not going to be expelled. You would have to perform a myriad of activities that even Tom Riddle himself didn't do while studying. So, I suggest you calm down. However, your parents will be informed of the situation as soon as possible, otherwise...it is up to the discretion of Professor McGonagall here to decide what other punishments she deems appropriate".
"Mr. Weasley, you and Mr. Potter will have detention for the duration of your second year, this situation will be noted on your student records and with immediate effect, I deduct you 20
Gryffindor points. Ten from Mr. Potter and ten to your account."
"But Professor! Harry is not to blame. I explained I was the one who had access to the car, besides ...it's all my fault."
"Young Weasley, even though Mr. Potter is in the infirmary, he is also responsible for his actions.
"I think that's enough Professor Minerva; the Gryffindor boys will understand the situation".
"It's all right teachers...I'm very sorry, we're very sorry, I speak on Harry's behalf. I know he didn't want this whole situation and we should have thought before doing our actions. "
"Very well, now please dress properly and be ready for the banquet.
"Yes, sir.
Nursing
Severus rushed in towards the lying figure of his son who lay on one of the beds closest to Poppy's desk.
"Harry!
"Hush Severus! He's sleeping. "
"What happened! What the bloody hell happened!”
"You haven't told him, Minerva?”
"He hasn't left me…, he's just been running like crazy through the whole school!”
"Woman! But who wouldn't...! Now, will someone tell me what happened to Harry? Where's the Weasley boy!"
"He had a bit of a nasty asthma attack … Ronald Weasley had minor cuts and he's in the dining room at the ceremony," whispered Poppy.
"Again," Severus said angrily as he ran his hands through his hair.
"He's fine”
"Just once, one bloody time...I leave him alone...and this happens."
"Severus, let me explain.
Main dining room.
"Ron, where the hell have you been? Seamus was going to leave you without food" Hermione gave him in a serious and joking manner as she watched Ron sit quietly at the table.
"Not now Hermione..."
"Not now what?! You owe me an explanation and where is Harry. I didn't see them on the train and your brothers were very worried."
"Hermione... I'll tell you later, now please, I just want to eat and calm down a bit."
"You have to tell me everything."
"Sure."
Gryffindor Room
"What, what, what? !!!!"
"I know Hermione, you don't need to remind me. I'm traumatized at the moment."
"You could have died, or worse, been expelled!"
" Hermione! Harry nearly died twice today and I don't know if he's going to forgive me, especially...I feel like Professor Snape is going to leave me as a trophy."
"This is the first time I think I agree with you. He's overprotective and I'm sure he'll want to talk to you."
"I'm waiting for my death, I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep."
"I hope there is nothing left. You must ...be calm and try to sleep."
"Sleep? That's for those who don't try to kill their friends in the silliest of ways."
"Let's go to sleep Ron. It doesn't do us any good to stay up late. School starts tomorrow and it doesn't do us any good to be worrying about Harry and worrying about what hasn't happened yet."
"You're right."
" Come on..."
Infirmary - Poppy's private office
"Calm down for a second Severus!"
"CALM DOWN? THEY WERE ALMOST KILLED BY AN ANCESTRAL TREE! MY SON ALMOST DIED IN A FLYING CAR AND YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN?!
"Severus!
"WHAT!"
"Don't raise your voice at me, young man! Remember I am older than you and you were my student, be careful how you address me! I am almost your mother, respect me. " Minerva shouted at him, as she sat down hard on the sofa.
" I ...I'm sorry. "
"I understand, but now the important thing is for Harry to recover. Here is his schedule."
" You won't reprimand him to go study tomorrow..." Severus asked Minerva, while Poppy was already developing an answer.
"No, Severus. "
" He will be in recovery for three days. I suggest that ...he can stay with you in your rooms. He needs calm and quiet and not a bunch of children harassing and worrying him," Poppy replied.
"I need to conjure up a bracelet. If only...I had known. I... this is all my fault too."
"It was unfortunate events that accumulated. Now, tomorrow I can make you a bracelet to join with Harry's and Dr. Gayle's. For the time being, you can sleep here and sleep here. For the time being, you can sleep here and I plan to move Harry to the private room I have arranged for him here in the infirmary. You can sleep there “
"Thank you. Tomorrow I will have a conversation with Weasley".
"As you wish. But... don't deduct any more points. I took twenty, ten for Harry and ten for him."
"I would have taken away all the points ."
Private Room - Infirmary
Severus just watched as Harry's chest rose and fell rhythmically without any horrendous sound, it was almost enveloping. He couldn't believe Ronald Weasley's story, they were things...really unfortunate. Although he didn't blame them completely either because they had tried to communicate with him, perhaps it would have been more reasonable to stay in King Cross until the Secretary of Education of the Ministry of Magic came to rescue them, but it was Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley, his son... it was an unstoppable earthquake.
He put his hand on his son's chest and gently climbed into bed, covering his son with the dark robes. Severus allowed himself to breathe easier as he felt the warmth of his son next to him, nothing bad would happen to him and that would be the last time he would allow such a kind of madness.

What it takes to know the difference between getting by and livin'

Just know you'll have to live with all the choices that you make
So make sure you're always givin' way more than you're takin'
