Chapter 3
They walked in silence toward the giant white bank. The small creatures scurrying around.
"We would like to go to ms. Potter's vault. I have her key." Severus said as they walked to the teller. The creature looked over the counter at her and gave a creepy smile.
"Follow me this way." It replied.
"Mr. Severus what is he?" Harrietta asked.
"A goblin they take care of the bank in the wizarding world." He replied.
"Oh." Was all she said as she got into the same cart as the now explained goblin. Severus didn't get in. "Are you not coming?"
"I will be here when you get back." She nodded. The cart started and they were off. The cart was fast and blew her hair in her face. When it stopped a chunk of her hair was in her mouth. The goblin took out the key he was given and opened the large metal vault door.
"I will wait here while you grab what you need." The goblin said.
"Thank you." She replied. Harrietta walked in and found a lot of money and books. "Um is there something i could put this all in?" She asked the goblin. He hands her a small bag.
"There is a bottomless charm so you can fit anything in it. The amount for it will be taken from you vault." She put all the books into the bag and a bunch of gold coins. Before she walked out she seen a small envelope peek out from the coins. She grabbed it and shoved it in her pocket. She nodded to the goblin and the cart took them back to the entrance of the bank. She held her hair this time not wanting to choke on it.
"You are done? Good lets go. It late so you will stay at the Leakey Cauldron tonight. Stay in the room until i come to pick you up. Do you understand?" She nodded.
"Yes sir i understand." He ordered her a room and some food and left.
She went to sit on the bed and something poked her. The envelope she took from the vault. On the front was a name. Harrietta Polaris Potter. Polaris was her favorite star. The brightest, she had learned in class. It must have been her middle name. She opened the letter
To Harrietta Polaris Potter,
If you are reading this then i have left you my dear sweet baby girl. I am so sorry. We will see each other again but i hope it wont be for a while.
To stat things off people will tell you that my name was Lilly Evans Potter. I suppose in some ways it is, but it isn't and unfortunately i didnt know until it was to late.
My real name is, though a bit long, Vega Lillith Seraphina Slytherin Black. I was stolen from my mother and father, Cassiopeia Black and Eleazar Slytherin when i was but a year old. I do not know who did it but my guess was it had to do with a man you will come to know as Albus Dumbledore. He is a manipulative old man whom I trusted with my life.
This next part my dear sweet Etta will be the hardest thing i will have to tell you.
When i was fifteen i was subjected to what you will come to know as Amortencia. A love potion. Your father placed it on me soon after a fight with my best friend. Soon after we graduated from Hogwarts we were married and i was still under it.
A year later i had become pregnant with you and a prophecy was made to kill the dark lord. Soon after you were born and i took you to the wizarding bank to open a trust vault for you. To open one i needed some of your blood and the truth had come out. My life was a mess. Your father was my cousin by blood. Our mothers were sisters.
When we went into hiding i confronted him about it. He told me everything, i have never hated someone so much in my life. Those i trusted as friends and even made your Godfather knew. Remus, Sirius, and Peter. He told me that two light magics to create a child would bring light back into the world. Albus Dumbledore had him drug me for six years.
My poor sweet Etta, after all the books i poured through about amortencia they all told me that you would not live a good life. You will have no empathy not feel emotion such as love or hope or sadness. I am so sorry my love.
I dont know if you will get this letter, but i hope that you do. Do not let Albus Dumbledore know that you know, do not trust him or the three i mentioned who knew the truth. Forgive me for leaving you.
