2._ The Black - Tonks Family
Sirius Orion Black loved three things not in any particular order: his family, the marauders and sleeping in, but even he had his exceptions. You see, Sirius Orion Black despised waking up early. The only three reasons he would wake up early would be:
* His Birthday (which he ensured the celebration lasted at least a week long)
* An important football match (and that was mostly thanks to James who dragged him out of bed)
* Or it was a new school year (which meant he would see his friends again as well as his dorm)
So that's how Sirius Black found himself waking up at 6:30 am, enough time to get ready and prepared to ride the Hogwarts Express, despite the fact that he didn't have to be there until eight.
“Andyyyyy wake upppp” Sirius being obnoxious as always went to wake up his dear aunt or well adoptive mother, after all he had spent most of his life living with her. Aunt Andromeda and her Husband Ted were the only two family members who took him and his brother in after their parents died in a car crash, which Sirius could barely remember now.
He had more memories of Andromeda and Ted as his parents than his actual ones.
“Is there a reason for waking me up at this ungodly hour?” Sirius rolled his eyes as he casually walked into Andy's bedroom which was a complete mess, there were clothes everywhere and even a few baby toys.
He walked past the clothes to stand at Andy´s bedside completely ignoring a snoring Ted beside her “It´s September 1st you're supposed to take Reg and I to the 9 and ¾ platform to go back to Hogwarts today, remember?” he informed her as if it was obvious with his eyebrow quirked “Shit shit shit shit you´re fucking right, TED TEDDD” Andromeda took upon herself the impossible task of waking up her profound sleeper of a husband as she hastly changed, Sirius on the other hand slowly sneaked out of the room snikering as he walked to his brother´s room.
“Reg dear wake up” Sirius spoke in a high pitched fake voice as he violently shook his brother awake and when that failed he simply jumped on top of him “You know, there's a special place in hell for people like you” Sirius just laughed as he got off the bed and began to throw clothes towards Regulus in his way of planning an outfit.

After a lot of rushing from Sirius behalf and a barley edible breakfast made by Ted they finally managed to make it out of their not at all modest house. Regulus and Sirius were cramped together in the back seats along with their baby cousin´s car seat while Andy drived and Ted slowly drifted off in the passenger seat.
“So …. How are you two feeling about this new school year” Andromeda spoke as she concentrated on the road “Oh Andy I'm feeling fucking fabulous, I can feel it this is our year I already have a bunch of pranks planed”
“Sirius Orion Black, language” Andy gave him a stern look through the rearview mirror in a way that he could only describe as a mom look “Andy but you and Ted curse all the time” he sighed defeated as his brother looked amused by the entire situation.
“But we are adults, grown ups and all, right Ted?” Andromeda turned to look at her husband who at the moment was wearing a star wars t-shirt and some scooby doo joggers as well as he seemed to have dozed off “Right Ted?” she asked once more this time with a little more force in her voice startling Ted “Oh yes love of course” Andy just rolled her eyes and kept driving.
They didn't live far from the s-tation but they didn't live close either so they slowly started to doze off. Sirius eyelids started feeling heavy and one second he was nodding off to dreamland when he was startled by the sudden voice of Tony Burrows singing through the radio and her Aunt smirking as she had woken everyone up by turning up the volume.
“Why´d you do that?” Siruis asked as he started to fully wake “Because it's unfair that all of you get to sleep as I drive so now you shall listen to Edison Lighthouse” Andromeda loved Edison Lighthouse and Sirius had to admit he enjoyed a couple of songs from them yet he'd rather sleep than hear their voices bursting through the radio.
“She ain't got no money…… Her clothes are kinda funny…… Her hair is kinda wild and free” Andy sang along to Tony Burrows which Sirius found hilarious so he decided to join her.
Soon enough everyone was singing along including Reggie who hated his voice and that made a smile burst into Sirius face “Buttt Loveeeee Growssss Whereeeee Myyyy RoseeeMaryyyy Growsssss” Ted turned to look at Andy as he sang this line, which made Sirius get this mix of love for his family but want at the same time, he might just be fifteen but he already knew he wanted that. He wanted to feel that unconditional love his adoptive parents shared.

“Sirius, are you sure you packed everything?” Sirius laughed as he tried to find James in the crowded station “Yes Andy I'm sure” Andromeda just nodded as she fixed Regulus hair and slipped him the book he had left in the car, Regulus just smiled at her gratefully “Okay loves remember I packed an extra pair of socks for both of you and I made sure to wash and iron your football uniforms although I think there was a blood stain I couldn't get out of yours, Sirius” Andromeda remarked with a warning eyebrow “So please, be more careful this year and Reg”
Both Andy and Ted turned to look at him as the proud parents they felt like “Ted and I reserved special tickets to go see you on your national Chess tournament as well as I will be on the Ravenclaw stands in the Football final while Ted goes to the Gryffindor stand with your brother okay” Regulus nodded going red as a beet and to anyone it would look like a cold answer but Ted and Andromeda knew better they could tell how happy that made him by the way he bit his lip to pull back a smile.
“Well then go off you two, you´ll see us soon enough and remember we love you'' Ted yelled as Andy kissed both of their foreheads despite their mutual complaints. Sirius ran to the train he was stopped by Ted pulling his sleeve and behind Andy´s back he gave him a small bag and put a finger to his mouth as he winked, Sirius wasn't sure what was in the bag but he smiled in return. Anytime Ted gave him a gift before a school year it tended to be pretty useful.
“Oi mate what took you so long!!” James slash Prongs asked him as he entered their compartment in the train “You know how Andy gets, she insisted on checking I had packed a toothpaste when the school clearly has that, ugh such a mom” James only laughed as he scooched over to make room for Sirius “Yeah I know, Oh! before I forget mom said to give you these”
James pulled out a small ziplock bag that contained a bunch of cookies in them “Geez wow have I told you lately that I adore you mom jamesie I mean wow she remembered to make traditional euphemia cookies just for me?” Sirius dramatised as he ripped the bag out of James hand.
“Technically they are called nankhatai and not euphemia traditional” Sirius spoke with a mouth full of cookies “Ah yes but my dear prongs only euphemia adds the chocolate chip cookies plus the secret ingredient” James (who knew his parents saw Sirius as a second son) didn't want to ruin his friends expectations of his mothers cooking by telling him that there was no actual secret ingredient.
“I'm pretty sure my mom´s not the only one who uses chocolate chips but sure fine they ’re Euphemia traditional cookies” Sirius nodded pleased as they fell into their normal chatter.
“I'm sorry” Peter panted as he burst into the compartment reaching for his inhaler “You okay there, Pete?” James asked as he exchanged weird out looks with Sirius “Yeah sorry just god sorry give me a minute” “Sure”
Sirius answered as he placed Pete´s carry-on under his seat “Okay yeah thanks, So you know I live pretty near the station right?”
They both nodded
“So mum thought we could have extra time to get here but then Nellie escaped when she saw a squirrel and wanted to chase it so I ran after Nellie but by the time I came back we were incredible late so we came here as quick as possible and barely made it” James and Sirius exchached confused looks before bursting into laughter “Pete um you are aware the train doesn't leave until another hour right?” he looked flabbergasted “Sorry you are joking right?” both of them shook their heads as they tried to hold back laughs “Well at least you caught Nellie, right?” Pete fell to the seat beside James “Nah I gave up she´s to fast for me, but she'll probably come back plus she has a collar with an address”
They once again fell into too friendly conversation, one that was partly making fun at James for his many failed attempts on getting Lily to go out with him “Yeah she wrote me a letter telling me she wouldn't be coming to school for some days and” before sirius could finish that sentence James cut him off “EXCUSE ME! Since when do you and Lily exchange letters” Pete laughed while Sirius looked sheepish #You know a while back but come on potter you more than anyone knows she is not my type” Sirius made emphasis on the last two words.
Sirius Orion Black was as gay as they come and while he wasn´t ashamed of it he didn´t go bragging around about it either. James constantly told him times were changing for the better and a part of him believed him. I mean common it was the 70´s everyone was more open minded now yet Sirius had also heard about all the hate crimes and prefered to keep his sexuality a private thing.
When he first came out he told James he kinda liked boys in a romantical way, James had said nothing but hugged him, Sirius then came out to the rest of the potter family a day before thanksgiving Flemont had just nodded and warned him that he would have to meet his boyfriend to approve but besides that he was fine. Euphemia on the other hand had just kindly smiled and that christmas he was gifted a rainbow colored sweater from her behalf which made him cry.
His parents on the other hand were something far more complex he was scared to death to tell them because even if they were open minded Sirius wasn't sure how they would feel about this, would they kick him out? he especially feared Ted who although could be fluffy and sweet, was also a tough type of man and Sirius looked up to him. So what if they hated him? As Sirius gathered up a breath he just said it “Andy, Ted i i” he cleaned his hands in his jeans before once again speaking “I like boys, I mean I think I´m gay” tears pulled in his eyes as he lifted them to see their reaction, he expected to see anger and hatred but he only saw love for one second before he was being wrapped in a giant hug by both of them “I guess that means no more sleep overs with that potter boy” Ted had joked as he held on tighter to him. His following birthday came along with a pride flag from them and Reggie (who stated he was more than proud that he told him) that now hung on his dorm at Hogwarts.
“Okay yeah fair point just promise me you won't steal her away from me” Sirius laughed “Potter I could never but remember what we talked about?” James sighed before answering something he had said many times before “Lily is not an object I can win or that can be stolen she's her own person” Pete and Sirius clapped in unison “Very good you see you do rememb……CRACKSDFJ” they were interrupted by a sound coming from outside as they shared curious looks, keeping quiet to hear.
“What are you deaf or something aren´t you going to bloody answer me” they immediately recognised that as Snape´s voice and oh Sirius was eager to get back at him for last year.
“I´ll go” so he didn't even doubt to volunteer “Sirius it's not our business just let it be” Peter spoke “But Pete someone out there might need help from horrible snivellus” James agreed besides he knew Sirius just wanted to get back and he didn't plan to stop him “Go on… yell if you need help” and with that Sirius speed off.

Outside of the compartment the first thing Sirius noticed was old Snivellus' disgusting face. That alone made him close his fist in anger but he noticed something else or rather someone.
The boy on the floor under Snape was interesting and cute. It was a weird combination that kept Sirius staring at him. He looked slim and it seemed his golden like eyes were spaced off then he noticed his really pretty curls but he couldn't keep thinking of that for too long as he saw how his chest raised up and down showing the quickness of his breathe and maybe Sirius was just imagining it but seemed to remind him of his brothers panic attacks so without wasting anymore time he pulled Snape off him as he yelled.
“Oi Snivellus, What in bloody hell do you think you're doing?” Sirius asked Snape but he just looked like he had seen a ghost, Sirius enjoyed causing that effect on him especially since he liked to call him certain slurs.
“I asked you a question Snivelly” Sirius spoke as he got closer to Snape he also noticed the stranger on the floor kept staring at him which made him feel analysed but he managed to regain his composure as he smirked at Snape “This isn't any of your business, go back to your pillock of friends and leave me alone” Sirius clenched his jaw and bunched his hands in fist “PILLOCK OH SO NOW THEY WERE PILLOCKS'' Sirius tolerated words at him but god save you if you ever insulted Potter in front of him “NO, you know what Sniv? Why don't you piss off right now before I call Potter and we repeat last year's willow tree incidents” Sirius went back to grinning when he saw Snape´s reaction oh yeah he was glad.
Last year when Snape had insulted Lily and Sirius in one same sentence James, Pete and him had gotten back at Snape by hanging him from the willow tree by his feet. It was hilarious and a bit over the top but necessary.
Snape ran off after clearly remembering this, so he put on his best flirtatious grin and turned to the boy on the floor “Why hello there stranger I'm Sirius” the stranger smiled for a second before turning to him in utter confusion “Serious about what?” that made Sirius cackle out in laughter, he loved that joke.
“No I mean” he tried to speak between giggles “My name is Sirius Black” that made the cute boy lightly laugh and Sirius might as well had died right there “Well that's a shitty name” oh so the kid had sass that made Sirius internally jump in glee this kid seemed perfect to be a part of the marauders (but of course he had to pass the trails first) he was excited about that and nothing else.
When he saw the kid made no sign of moving he offered his hand to him.
- Great now that you´re up, What's your name stranger? -
He noticed the boy's gaze on him and that made him feel slightly awkward but then his dear friend burst out of their compartment “My dear Padfoot, what on earth is taking you so long… And who is this?” James noticed the tall boy standing in front of him “Well Prongs I was about to find out who he was before you came out scaring him” Sirius glared at James in hopes he would get the message to leave them alone but apparently he didn't.
“Oi it's not my fault you took so long to deal with snivellus I had worried you might´ve killed him or something” James joked while he gave Sirius a clear look BE CAREFUL!!
“I am incapable of killing, Im not a murderer !! What is wrong with you prongsie? I might push him off the train but I would never kill him” Sirius avoided his look by keeping the joke going “Pushing him off the train could kill him so that would make you a murderer” they actually started joking and before they knew it they were laughing their guts out but they stopped the second a soft barely audible voice came into the conversation.
“´M Remus Lupin” Remus Lupin it sounded so smart like something out of a book, and it clearly fit him nevertheless he took the chance to mock the boy back “You tosser made fun of me name with one like that” the boy laughed once more and Sirius thought that was his new favourite sound.
James gave him that look again when he noticed Sirius grin but didn't comment on it “Well … Come in Remus and enjoy the ride” Remus smiled and entered the compartment.
Sirius was about to enter behind him but was stopped by a hand “Padfoot….” he bit his lip knowing what was coming bi¿ut trying to act fool “What?” James sighed before pulling him to the side and whispering.
“What? I know that look and usually it's okay when were in town or someplace else but we´re off to school an more likely than not we will have to see that kid for the rest of the school year”
Sirius pretended he had no idea where this conversation was going.
“So?” James looked doubtful but spoke anyway “You can't assume everyone is, you know like you, for all we know this Remus lad could be a wanker ready to out you to the whole school” Sirius avoided his stare playing with his hair “Look mate all I'm saying is be careful don't try anything without being a hundred percent sure he's also into guys”
Prongs was only trying to protect him, Sirius knew but it still sucked that it was like that. Still he nodded and hugged him briefly before pulling away.

He entered the compartment and inside was Peter eating as always. By the window seat was Remus soundly asleep. Thank god he seemed like death warmed up “Is he new?” James had asked when he noticed Remus was sleeping “I don't know Potter, how on earth am I supposed to know?” James shrugged as he stole some gummies out of Pete “Well you spoke to him”
Sirius wanted to laugh at that, he didn't speak to the boy. He looked terrified of them “Well yeah but no, he barely spoke just said my name was shitty” Pete laughed at his words “He's not wrong though” “Shut up wormtail” James being the mother hen he was asked “Did he mean it in a rude way?” Sirius couldn't imagine Remus had a rude bone in his body but James was partially right to be worried they barely knew him “Nah he seemed to just be joking” “Should we wake him up?” Pete said as he was about to stand up to wake him “No leave the poor lad alone why should we wake him up he looked exhausted”

“What house do you think he's in” Sirius really hoped Gryffindor but he guessed Hufflepuff “I don't know but he seemes like a Hufflepuff” “Does someone know the last name Lupin” James tried to get as much information as he could to write it down in his yellow notepads which he was obsessed with “No why?” James swallowed like he usually do when he was about to say something he knew he'd regret.
“Because no offence but look at his bag and clothes he does not look like most boys that go here, I just think he might be here on a scholarship” Sirius would´ve called James out for being rude but he kinda agreed the conversation then moved on to if they thought he´d like football and that distracted James and Pete for the rest of the ride. But Sirius was just so curious about the boy why he seemed to shy away and why he couldn't stop staring at him.
They had arrived at the closest station near the school and Sirius just couldn't wait to be at the feast. He was starving “Hey mate, Remussssss, wake up!!” Sirius noticed how James woke up Remus with no tact whatsoever. He watched as slowly Remus opened his heavy eyelids and turned towards James “Hi um im awake” “Oh good, cause we're here” with a heavy sigh Remus stood up and Sirius turned to walk out of the train he was very familiar with after five years of doing this.
“So Remus, are you excited to get sorted?” James pretended to make small talk as they all walked to the carriages but Sirius knew better he knew James would write all his answers on the yellow notepad later.
“Um well I already was sorted” Oh! Now that really made Sirius stop and turn towards the boy “Really what house are you in? please don't say Slytherin because I'm pretty sure that would end our friendship” Peter mentioned and Sirius more than anyone should agree since all his evil cousins were there but he couldn't, afterall he had great friends from Slytherin who were not mean at all “Blagh don't listen to Pete over there although Slytherin isn't our favourite house there aren´t any bad houses besides lovely and beautiful Marlene is in Slytherin don´t forget that”
Sirius and Pete kept arguing about the pros and cons of being in Slytherin, and before they noticed they were already in front of the carriages something Sirius was grateful for as he rather not walk the rest of the way to the castle.
James sat closest to the horses as always, he loved to pet them, Peter sat beside him, Siruis took the opposite side, as the horses were going to leave Sirius noticed Remus was missing he turned around and found him some steps behind the carriages admiring the horses yeah that tended to happen to all newbies “Hey Remus come along we don't wanna miss the big feast” he nodded and got in beside him.
“So…. Remus you never told us what house you got sorted into and when did you come in to do the aptitude test?” James seemed as curious as Sirius to know more about the boy as he kept his interrogation going “I'm in or well I am Gryffindor” That was fantastic, amazing, splendid a cause for celebration so they all cheered in joy, Sirius thought he might as well hug him to celebrate but he did not miss the way Remus shied away from so he slowly backed away and tried not to think too much of it "That's great mate, that's means your stuck with all of us”
Remus played with the sleeves of his sweater but didn't respond to James statement instead answered his previous question “Yeah I actually did the aptitude test a few month back, as well as the scholarship program all thanks to Lily Evans” James and Sirius exchanged looks you see I told you he was on a scholarship and you were right. Pete sometimes got jealous of the lack of understanding of those looks but it was then when they noticed something else Remus had said.
“Sorry you know Lily Evans?” Sirius asked, seeing as James still looked bewildered “Yeah she's kinda my best friend slash neighbour why?” that made Sirius burst with laughter and James was mixed between jealousy and extreme confusion “Cause Prongs over here has been in love with lilypad for a few years now” Remus stared at them confused for a second before blushing and answering.
“Oh that's good I guess, you seem like a nice lad and well she likes nice guys well at least I think she does I couldn't quite tell you, although I´ve practically known her since birth you know? I guess you don't know” the three boys stared in utter shock at Remus for a various of reasons:
James/Prongs: Stared at Remus in disbelief since the only thing he heard out of that conversation was Oh that's good you seem like a nice lad and well she likes nice guys like you he was also happy to know that Remus had no romantic interest in Lily whatsoever.
Sirius/Padfoot: Stared at Remus completely shocked he had no idea what had taken over him, one second he was all shy and they had barely managed to get three words out off him the next he was rambling about how James maybe possibly not had a chance with Lily, wow if this is what happens after being stuck in the train with the marauders for only a couple of hours he couldn't imagine how outgoing Remus would be by the end of the year, gosh Sirius was excited.
Peter/ Pete: He was shocked to hear Remus was friends with Lily since birth that kinda scared him since the marauders have always been the three of them Funny and Athletic James, Flirty and Charismatic Sirius and the approachable and at times clumsy him Peter who could also be pretty smart and would pass you his homework but beyond that he was only a shadow of the two boys and with Remus being here now and being friends with Lily who James was in love with he feared they would leave him behind for good something he could not allow.
