Chapter 2
It had been 2 days since the incident that resulted in him getting a guy’s number, and he was bored. Boredom and Hanschen usually resulted in the bathroom being occupied for far too long, but today he just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe he was getting sick or something.
After about 5 minutes of contemplating, he decided to text the number. What did he have to lose?
Hanschen Rilow
Hey, this is Hanschen, the guy from the cafe. The blonde one
Obviously he didn’t expect an immediate reply, so he put his phone down and went off to find something to do while he waited. He grabbed his favourite book, All You Who Sleep Tonight. An underrated classic, in his opinion
Half an hour of reading and rereading his favourite poems over and over again later, he decided that this guy had definitely responded by now. I mean, who would be away from their phone for longer than half an hour anyway?
Unknown
who?
Oh. Well that wasn’t what Hanschen had expected at all.
Hanschen Rilow
I asked you for your number two days ago, remember? I was the one who said that I could keep you company at night
How had the other guy already forgotten? He placed his phone back in his pocket, scoffing, just for it to buzz almost immediately.
Unknown
i think they gave you the wrong number
i didnt give anyone my number
Hanschen Rilow
Oh really?
Sorry for bothering
It hadn’t even crossed his mind that maybe, just maybe, the guy had purposely given him the wrong number.
Unknown
its ok
also asking someone for their number with ‘i can keep you company at night’ is probably the worst way to do it
Hanschen Rilow
And how do you know that?
Have you ever asked anyone for their number?
Unknown
not with romantic or sexual intentions but thats irrelevant
its kind of just common knowledge i fear
Hanschen Rilow
Whatever
I still got the number of, I assume, a hot person, so
It’s still a win
Unknown
nice to meet you too
and thats bold of you to say
not bold to assume, only bold to say
im not a girl btw sorry to disappoint
Hanschen Rilow
I didn’t think you were a girl
Unknown
oh?
can i be honest
youre kinda creepy
Hanschen Rilow
And yet you haven’t blocked me?
Unknown
youre right maybe i should
Hanschen Rilow
What’s your name?
Unknown
why should i tell you?
how old are you
Hanschen Rilow
Why should I tell you?
Unknown
point taken
my name is ernst
im 16
Hanschen Rilow
Ah
I’m Hanschen
Also 16
Unknown
oh youre the same age
that makes me feel slightly better
Hanschen Rilow added ‘Unknown’ to contacts
Hanschen Rilow changed ‘Unknown’ to ‘Ernst’
Hanschen Rilow
It’s been nice talking to you, but I must go now
See you, Ernst
Ernst
bye hanschen
Hanschen put his phone down for real now, and sighed. So he had been dared to ask a guy for his number, the guy gave him the wrong number (on purpose, he assumed), and now he had another person’s number? God must hate him.
