A conversation
"Alexi." Felix said looking over at his 7 year old.
"Yeah, dad?" The child responded.
"I just want to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"Well, I know you mostly spend your time around Beatrice and Jacob, both of which are trans."
"Yeah, so?"
"Well, I was just wondering if you might be trans yourself. Of course, you can have trans friends without being trans, but I just want to make sure."
"I don't know. I don't really care about gender. I'm fine with being called a boy and all that like I normally am. But, I wouldn't mind being called a girl either. Or being called neither."
"Would you prefer if I switched up what I call you, instead of just calling you a boy?"
"Well, I don't really mind either way. But, it might be nice."
"Okay, we can try that. What about sexuality? I know you're pretty young, but it doesn't hurt to ask."
"I don't know exactly, I don't think I would necessarily reject, or not like someone based on their gender. So, maybe pan? I can figure it out when I'm older."
"Of course, you can. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right."
"I know. I love you, daddy."
"I love you too, princess."
