Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy my first ever work for the Harry Potter and Drarry fandom. It was inspired through a Bruno Major's song called NothingEnglish is not my first language and it's been a while since I've written anything but I really hope you like this little piece.Comments and kudos are highly appreciated!

The Sunday sun was warm, getting in from the open windows and illuminating their room with a calm glow. Draco stirred on the bed, a hand looking for Harry and the other one rubbing his eyes to chase the fuzziness of sleep away from him. The hand looking for Harry ended on his boyfriend’s chest who was propped up on the head of the bed with his glasses on and a book in his hand.
“Slept well darling?” Harry asked with a soft smile watching Draco struggle to keep his eyes fully open yet.
“Mmmhh” came out as Draco stirred himself once more. “Of course. I always sleep the best when you’re here.” He finally opened his eyes all the way to have a better look at Harry. “How long have you been up?”
“Just about an hour. I started this book yesterday and couldn’t wait to continue reading it.” Harry showed Draco the book cover, The complete poems of Emily Dickinson.
“Is it a muggle writer? I have never heard of her” Asked Draco, curious eyes locking with Harry’s soft gaze. “It’s a muggle writer yes. One of the most brilliant poets of all time if you ask me and I finally got my hands on a complete version of all her works. I’m enjoying it a lot. Look at this for example:

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all […]

Ugh, isn’t she wonderful?” Harry’s eyes were glowing, a hidden passion in them. He really was a hopeless romantic and books like this only spurred his mind.
“She does sound wonderful” said Draco right before a yawn took over him. “I think I’ll go freshen up and then I’ll start making breakfast” He announced a bit later propping himself up so he could peck Harry’s lips on a sweet kiss. His boyfriend, having turned his attention back on the book, hummed into the kiss and looked at Draco with another soft smile, one of Draco’s favourites, all carefree and happy, it made his heart pump faster and his head feel fuzzy with warmth.

Draco made his way to the bathroom, closing the door after him. He looked at himself in the mirror after washing his face and he could say that he was happy with the reflection that stared back at him, a thought nowhere to be seen some years ago.
The war had been traumatizing and rough on everyone and there was a stage in his life where he thought that nothing mattered anymore. Until he found Harry again and they started dating. It went from a shocking reencounter to playful bantering to oblivious flirting to a really sweet and shocked confession from them both during a nice dinner over their favourite Italian restaurant. All their friends congratulated them when the news came but truth is no one was excessively surprised. When he thought about it, he still couldn’t believe how happy he was and how complete he felt at Harry’s side. He took the toothbrush, put some toothpaste on top and began brushing his teeth.

When he got out of the bathroom to put on some comfy clothes he found Harry on the same position as before, deeply immersed on his poetry book. Draco leaned on the door’s frame tilting his head and crossing his arms over his chest watching Harry fondly. This was the man who not only saved him in every possible and thinkable way but with whom he was so in love that sometimes it was difficult to breathe just thinking about it. Harry, feeling his boyfriends gaze upon him detached his eyes from the book to look at Draco, a soft smile mirroring his partner's.
“All freshen up my love?” Asked Harry making a gesture with the hand that wasn’t holding the book for Draco to join him in bed. The other boy approached as it was silently asked and sat on the edge of the bed near Harry.
“Well, I don’t have morning breath anymore if that’s what you’re asking.” Came in an amusing tone as he leaned in to steal a soft kiss. “I was going to go to the kitchen and start breakfast as promised but you looked so good over here all entranced on your book.” Harry couldn’t help but widen his smile at that. He always found amusing and terribly endearing how Draco was so easily distracted over the cutest things, like this. When he was just about to answer a loud growl resonated from both their stomachs in perfect sync making them burst out laughing. Draco got up after pecking Harry’s lips one last time and extended a hand towards the other man. “Come with me and keep me company while I make us something to eat?” He asked grinning knowing that he wouldn’t be rejected on his request. Harry put his favourite bookmark, a slim silhouette of Hogwarts made in silver, and closed his book leaving it on his night table before taking the hand Draco was offering to walk with him to the kitchen.

Harry started the water to make them some nice black tea, two sugars for him and one for Draco with a splash of milk on both, and Draco began making scrambled eggs and some avocado toasts. They sat and ate talking about everything and nothing at the same time. When they both finished Harry offered to clean their plates while Draco went into their room again to finally put on some stay-at-home clothes instead of wandering in his pyjamas all day. When Harry finished with the dishes, he copied Draco by getting dressed in some joggers and a simple t-shirt. They both proceeded to seat on their couch in front of the fireplace and the telly. Harry having picked up his book from their room and Draco having chosen one for himself, They both die at the end, a novel he wanted to start from some time ago but didn’t have the time between his shifts at St Mungo and his side research on muggle medicine.

They sat in silence for hours, both immersed on their own readings, Draco with his head on Harry’s shoulder and Harry with one of his arms around Draco’s body, moving it every time he needed to turn the page. When a growl like the one in the morning startled them out of their own book worlds, they decided it was time to have lunch. Draco was who enjoyed cooking the most out of the two, a thing that came as a surprised when they started living together since, because of his upbringing, it wasn’t something he ever had to do before, but it gave him a sense of self-satisfaction to come with new and delicious recipes for them to enjoy. Feeling a bit lazy Draco decided that a good pasta was enough for both of them so as Harry sat the table, he put the pasta pot with water to boil and made a simple sauce consisting of tuna and tomatoes which ironically was a favourite of him and Harrys. He made a side salad to pair the pasta with and opened a bottle of white wine. When everything was ready, they sat at the table and began eating filling their stomach with delicious tasting pasta, refreshing salad and crisp wine. When they were finished Draco and Harry cleaned together so they would be done faster and decided that the afternoon was inviting enough to go for a little walk in the park a few streets away from their flat. Draco changed into some nice black pants leaving his original shirt and putting his favourite casual shoes as Harry threw on some jeans and his most comfortable snickers.

They arrived at the park hand in hand and began wondering through it, enjoying the nice weather and the fresh air even deciding to make a stop on one of the cafes surrounding the place, Draco asking for his usual cold matcha and Harry going for an iced americano. They sat on the little terrace and, with their hands linked on the table, enjoyed their drinks with their eyes lost in the distance, each one of them engulfed in their own thoughts. When they got tired of being outside and the sun startled to settle, they decided it was time to go back home so they got up and started walking back to their flat.

“Fancy a shower together to get rid of the chill of the autumn breeze?” Asked Harry when they got past their front door linking his arms around Draco’s waist hugging him from behind and kissing his cheek lightly. Draco smiled and turned his head so he could kiss Harry on the lips properly not wanting to deepen it too much. “Sounds wonderful love.” He said sincerely while turning around to hook his arms around his boyfriend’s neck to give him kisses all over his face, on both cheeks, his nose, his forehead, and his lips. “Let’s go have a nice hot shower before I get chilly.” Draco said with an amused smile separating from Harry’s body and going to their bathroom to get the water running, Harry following close behind. Between kisses, warm smiles and soft touches here and there they got undressed and under the water stream helping shampoo and wash each other’s bodies.

Feeling fuzzy from the nice temperature after having towel dried themselves, they put on their pyjamas again and decided to have Korean take out for dinner and put a nice, chill movie. The food arrived in less than an hour and they both curled up against the other on the couch, their living room smelling deliciously and pressing play for the movie to begin. It had been a relaxing Sunday, filled with each other’s company and doing essentially nothing but this were honestly Draco’s favourite days and he hope Harry’s too.

When they were both back in bed, where the day had started, facing each other and both with fond smiles adorning their sleepy faces Draco couldn’t help but thinking that if he were to die right now, he would be at he wouldn't mind as much because he was the happiest he had ever been before. Giving a soft kiss to Harry’s lips and curling up against him he closed his eyes and let his boyfriends heartbeat lulled him to sleep.
