(Owl House) I will be back, I promise - Part 2
Luz couldn’t look her mother in the eye ever since that day. Her and Amity found a way to stay in touch but they could only do it once every month, when there was no moon. She missed her girlfriend dreadfully and the blind dates that she was constantly set up on by her mother did nothing to curb that longing. It had been two years by now and both of them had grown. Luz could only imagine Amity as the years went by.
Now she was studier, a little longer hair constantly held back by a purple beanie that matched Amity’s hair. It didn’t really suit her but it was her way of keeping her girlfriend with her. Luz was a little bit taller only by a couple inches however.
Her mother kept a close eye on her ever since that day, always watching to make sure she never went to the woods. The only time she could be alone was when her mother went to work. Even then, the cameras her paranoid mother had placed kept an eye on her. So she did what she does best, act sneaky. The only place she had privacy was in a corner of her room to change and the bathroom. So she loosened floor boards and tiles. Making all the pieces to make a portal was not an easy task.
However, today was the day. Luz had finally done it, the pieces were all assembled and as soon as her mom left to work she jumped into action. She waited about 20 minutes for her mom to get further away before she grabbed the parts she hid in the bathroom and began assembly in her room. If Luz moved fast enough she would finish and have time to spare to pack clothes before her mom got here.
Pressing the button to power up the portal, a huge rumble occurred in the house. Little bits and pieces of the Boiling Isles came into view. Lux began packing the bag with essentials, not wanting to wear the same clothes all the time. She only had 1/4 of her stuff before she heard her bedroom door open.
“Hey, mija i forgot-“
The door slammed the rest of the way open but Luz was already standing in the portal waving goodbye. Camilla ran fast but not fast enough.
“Lo siento mama.”
She got thrown out on the grass. Luz looked around and saw the Owl House, she ran toward it slamming the door open.
Eda rounded the corner, spell ready to fire before she saw Luz. Her eyes tear- I mean started sweating as she ran to her favorite human. King who heard the noise came to see what was happening before he saw Luz. A squeal was heard through out the room as he hopped up on Luz’s shoulder hugging her neck.
“I’m so sorry, I’m so so sorry it took so long Ma, I tried so hard.” Luz sobbed into Eda’s shoulder.
“Its alright kiddo just relax.”
They sat on the floor for half an hour just relaxing in each other’s presence.
“Oh Titan! Amity!” Luz shouted ready to run out the door before a pale hand stopped her.
“Wait kid, Amity doesn’t live at the Blight’s anymore, she lives in a apartment with her siblings. Here’s the address.”
Luz grabbed the paper and Eda’s staff shouting a sorry before racing off. She searched for what felt like hours before she found the apartment and floor. Her gut was doing flip flops as she knocked on the door. The door opened with a creak and standing in front of her was Amity.
“I told you we don’t want to bu-,” Amity paused tears filling her eyes, “Luz?”
They jumped into each others arms sobbing as they held on tight, acting as though they would get ripped apart soon. For once Luz actually kept a promise. She came back to the first girl she said ‘I love you’ to.
