Making wishes.
That is one thing Remus Lupin loved to do. Although he didn't really believe that these wishes will be granted, he enjoyed making wishes. Whenever a shooting star passed by, when he's blowing the candles out on his birthday cake...
And one of his favorite things to do was making wishes with Sirius Black. The way his eyes would close as he smiled and muttered a wish under his breath; it was such a sight for Remus.
Speaking of shooting stars, Remus had heard there would be some tonight; he should probably tell Sirius to come with him tonight to the astronomy tower; they might as well just spend time together. They haven't spent proper time together ever since exams had started, and Remus missed him ever so much.
Remus said goodbye to the librarian before walking to the Great Hall, spotting Sirius and their group of friends there. Remus approached them happily, sitting down beside Sirius. Sirius gave a huge smile when he saw Remus approach; and Remus couldn't help but give him one too.
“Have you eaten yet?” Remus asked. Sirius nodded, handing Remus his plate.
“Yes, and I already made you a plate with your favorites,”
Remus smiled and kissed Sirius’ cheek.
“Thank you, sweetheart,” Remus said before digging into his food. “Oh, by the way, do you want to come to the astronomy tower with me? There are some shooting stars and-”
“I'd love to!” Sirius responded, pecking his cheek.
At 10:00 PM that night, they were both in the astronomy tower, hand in hand, looking at the stars.
“See that star over there? It's the Sirius star.” Remus grinned at Sirius. Sirius glanced up at the star then at Remus, his thumb caressing Remus’s palm.
“I've never actually seen the Sirius star before, until right now.” Sirius murmured. They both sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes before something passed by; a shooting star.
Sirius gasped and his eyes lit up as he grinned and jumped excitedly.
“Shooting star - make a wish, my love,”
Remus smiled as he closed his eyes, muttering, “Hope he stays here forever.”
He then opened his eyes and looked at Sirius, who was still grinning.
“Your turn,”
Sirius closed his eyes, still grinning, and murmured something inaudible to Remus; but he could make out the words “he” and “stay.”
Sirius opened his eyes slowly and turned to Remus.
“What'd you wish for?” Sirius asked quietly. Remus took a quick breath before responding, “That, my love, is staying a secret.” Sirius smiled.
“I wouldn't have told you what I wished for, either, so fair enough.”
Remus didn't want this moment to end. He wanted to stay here forever; looking at stars and making wishes with Sirius.
Remus lifted Sirius's hand up to his lips and placed a soft, quick kiss on his thumb.
“You know, Remus?” Sirius
“Yeah?”
“I love you.”
Remus slightly blushed and grinned uncontrollably before retorting, “I love you too, Sirius Black.”
[ happy new year!!! ]
