second and third year debrief
The warm Scotland winds bring the beginning of second year and a comfortable routine for Arabella. Summer had been boring yet peaceful, spending long days on the beach and becoming very tan. When it was time to return to her second year at Hogwarts she was unbelievably excited to head back. She said tearful goodbyes to her parents but went grinning onto the train. It didn’t take long for the new second years to fall back into their familiar routine.
Winter and Arabella were as close as ever, best friends. Winter had come over for a week this summer after begging with their parent’s and they had spent it indulging in chocolate ice cream, running around town, and swimming. When school rolls around the two girls spend long nights gossiping together and playing various games, their other dorm mates frequently join in but Winter and Arabella are much closer.
The girls become even closer with Regulus as well. They take to the library after classes and spend long hours in there with just the three of them, they don’t do homework, instead they sit and talk.
After the library Regulus and Arabella go to the quidditch pitch and fly until dinner, they are both eager to make the team this year. During the last week of September tryout finally roll around and to Arabella’s surprise both she and Regulus make the team. Arabella takes over the Keeper position which she is terrified of and Regulus takes over Narcissa’s old spot as seeker since she’s now graduated. The pair of them practice even more once they make the team, waking up early every day to fly before classes.
Summer between second and third is relaxing after a busy year. This summer Arabella heads to Winter’s for the week before school starts and Regulus even makes it for the final two days of summer vacation.
Third year is what Arabella would deem slightly uneventful, it was more fun than second year since they had much more freedom but she felt as though nothing exciting happened. Regulus was on the rocks with his brother, they didn’t speak almost the entire year, Sirius didn’t go home for Christmas. Winter heard news that Lucius and Narcissa would get married this summer which she was secretly thrilled about, Winter always liked Narcissa better than other girls Lucius dated. Arabella felt as though she was finally up to speed with the other witches and wizards in terms of knowledge about the wizarding world; it only took two whole years!
