The sun was just starting to shine through the blinds, casting a warm golden glow over the two men entangled in a ball of sheets and limbs. Birds were doing their daily wake up call, tweeting loudly through the windows causing the dark wavy haired man to stir.

“Bloody birds.” He grumbled, pulling the pillow tighter around his head. His boyfriend pulled him closer, nuzzling his head into the others chest. The soft tan curls brushed softly against Sirius’ cheek, causing him to pull away groaning.

“Your hair is making me itch Moony, go away.” Sirius grumbled.

“Sorry love, I don’t try.” Remus said softly, attempting to flatten his hair in an effort to not have it touch Sirius.

“Hmm.” Was all the other man replied with.

They laid in a quiet, peaceful silence for all of five minutes before an extra loud bird call caused Sirius to groggily sit up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Remus soon followed suit, stretching deeply.

Sirius smiled at his boyfriend softly, littering light kisses along his shoulders and chest.

“Morning, beautiful.” Sirius said cheerily. “I’ll make you some tea, yeah?”

Remus nodded slowly, still getting his bearings. Sirius wasn’t a morning person by any measure, but Remus was even less so. Sirius liked making Remus his morning tea, it was his special thing to do for his partner. So if that meant waking up at 5 in the morning, he would do just that. Thankfully they typically had much later mornings.

Once in the kitchen Sirius cast a charm to quickly boil the water in the kettle before pouring it into the large mug he had set out. He had had it custom made for Remus the year before, with large lettering that read “World's Best Werewolf” on it. Remus hated it at first but now it was consistently used for his morning tea.

Once he had poured in the bare minimum of sugar (far too little for his tastes but Remus always said he wanted to “taste the earth”) he brought it carefully to where Remus was now sat on the couch.

“Is that my sweater?”

Remus blushed softly. “It smells like you. Plus I wanted to go to the library a little later and I thought it would be nice.”

Sirius nodded, sitting next to his boyfriend and pulling the knit blanket around their legs. He laid his head down on the other man’s shoulder, rubbing his cheek on the comforting texture.

“Returning books or picking up new ones?”

“Both. I have two books I checked out last week, and I have another that I have my eye on.” He pressed his cheek to Sirius’ head and struggled to take a sip of tea without spilling any.

“Well… just be safe yeah? I could drive you if you wanted?” Sirius offered hopefully.

“No no it’s okay. It’s nice and cool today, so walking seems nice. Plus it’s not that far, I’ll be fine.” Remus rolled his eyes internally at his boyfriend's protectiveness.

After Remus had finished his tea and Sirius had not so subtly tried to get him to stay or atleast accept a ride, Remus was finally headed out the door, leather satchel crossed over his shoulder and bouncing against his hip. He gave Sirius a quick kiss before actually leaving.

Sirius sighed and rubbed his face wearily. He sent a quick text to his brother before setting his phone down on the table. He waved his wand at the stereo, loud music flowing out and through the room.

“Alright. I can do this. It’s not that hard.” He muttered to himself, sitting down in front of his easel.

He used to love painting, but unfortunately had fallen out of touch with his creative side in the past years.

He picked up the large brush hesitantly before dipping it into a beautiful light green shade and slathering the canvas with it. Eventually there were beautiful bushes with bright red flowers littering them. He had just started to outline where the sidewalk would be when he heard the front door open. It took him a moment to snap out of his painting frenzy but as soon as he did he lept up and hurried to his boyfriend.

“Moony why are you soaking wet?”

“Erm. It started raining, didn’t you notice?” He raised an eyebrow, shifting his gaze to where Sirius’ canvas was set up. “Ah.”

“Yeah sorry… I was painting. Um, let me draw you a bath okay.” Sirius didn’t bother pointing out that Remus wouldn’t be soaked and shivering if he had let him drive to the library.

He led him to the bathroom where he started filling the bathtub with fairly warm water.

“Can I help you get undressed?”

“Hm of course.”

Sirius smiled, placing a kiss on his skin everywhere that he stripped clothing off. He gave him a final kiss on the forehead before helping him sit in the bath, lending him a shoulder to lean on.

“How’s your knee feeling?” Sirius asked, waving his wand over Remus’ clothes to dry them.

“Not the best but it’s fine. Not bad enough that I need my cane, anyways. The bath is helping. Thank you, my love.” Remus smiled lovingly at his boyfriend, reaching a hand out towards Sirius.

Sirius took it, placing a kiss to the back and on each finger tip. “I’ll make you some tea and toast. Then we can watch a movie, or listen to music.”

“Actually- could I watch you paint? I just… it’s really interesting. And you’re so talented.”

“Of course Rem, anything for you. Just don’t distract me.” He joked with a wink before leaving the bathroom to fetch Remus his tea.

And that set the tone for the day. Remus was sat next to Sirius, watching him make broad strokes that he would be terrified to make, but they always seemed to go exactly where they should go. Sirius’ music was floating through the air in the background, and Sirius would regularly pause to give Remus a quick kiss before returning his attention to his art. But if you asked him, Remus was the most prominent art in the house, the most deserving of his attention.
