
"What was right is wrong"
She was in the middle of an alchemical experiment when she looked up, just in time to see her lover lean on the table, smiling at her. She could never get over her ethereal beauty, beauty that had transcended the boundaries of mortal lifetimes.
Pretending not to notice what was going on in the far corner of the large room, she pulled her lover in for a kiss. The butterflies in her stomach started up every time they kissed. It hadn’t failed to appear even once, and they had kissed many, many times.
Formulae and incantations came to mind as if they were instincts, their composition undiminished even after centuries’ passage. Immortality had its benefits, and being able to see the face of the person you chose to spend eternity with, for all of that eternity, was definitely one.
“Centuries may come and they may go, but I doubt my love for you will ever fade.”
The other woman’s laughter was music to her ears, just as it always had been.
