Stories, Rewritten
Summary
A rewrite of a work (or, more accurately, collection of short works published as one work) that I orphaned due to not being friends with the person I gifted it to anymore (yes, it's a petty reason but I was angry when I did it). It's not the same as the original at all, at least not completely.
Note
To prevent the pitchforks of plagiarism accusations, I shall admit that I am the actual author of A Story (or More) to Tell in Only One Hundred Words who, in retrospect, feels extremely guilty over orphaning it in a fit of rage. At the time, it felt like a very logical thing to do, but it was stupid in retrospect once I found a notebook full of planned stories that I never wrote. Thanks for understanding. Oh, and, every chapter's title is what inspired it. Details are probably in the chapter end notes.

"What was right is wrong"

She was in the middle of an alchemical experiment when she looked up, just in time to see her lover lean on the table, smiling at her. She could never get over her ethereal beauty, beauty that had transcended the boundaries of mortal lifetimes.

Pretending not to notice what was going on in the far corner of the large room, she pulled her lover in for a kiss. The butterflies in her stomach started up every time they kissed. It hadn’t failed to appear even once, and they had kissed many, many times.

Formulae and incantations came to mind as if they were instincts, their composition undiminished even after centuries’ passage. Immortality had its benefits, and being able to see the face of the person you chose to spend eternity with, for all of that eternity, was definitely one.

“Centuries may come and they may go, but I doubt my love for you will ever fade.”

The other woman’s laughter was music to her ears, just as it always had been.
