Chapter 7).
CHAPTER 6).
RICK'S POV:
Watching as Hershel tried to save Jim was hard. He told us that Jim may not survive. I knew that Harriet may be able to help. So I asked if they would go and find my family and bring them to me.
Maggie tells me that she would go in search of my family for me.
I wish her good luck and tell her where to find them. Then she is on her way.
I had the feeling that Jim may not survive this as the shrapnel is deeply embedded in his body.
Hershel told me there was a 10 present chance for Jim to survive, and I will take that chance. Jim is a part of this group. The screaming that was coming from Jim just broke me. I had to get out of this room. I made my way to the front porch and simply stood there, looking out to the surrounding land.
I heard the door being opened and footsteps coming beside me. I turned to see Merle standing there. "Jim is a strong person. He will pull through. He tries his dam hardiest," Merle tries to reassure me. I know Merle was right, but I feel like it is my fault.
"Look, I and the idjit are going to get medical supplies. I won't belong. Remember, keep my family safe," Merle tells me. I knew I would have to stay close to the farm, so I couldn't go with Merle.
"Ok, please try and not to take too long. Merle, you know that I will always look after the family," I replied.
I watched as Merle and Otis went in his jeep. I felt that I needed to do something. I just felt like I wasn't doing anything. I screamed in frustration. "Rick, it's going to be ok. I hear you, my love," I looked to see Harriet standing beside me.
The only thing I wanted to do was wrap my arms around her and just never let go. As I was wrapping my arms around her, the door once again opened, and standing there was Hershel. "You must be Miss Black. Please, I don't know how long Jim can hold on for. Please, call me Hersherl Miss Black," Hershel introduces himself to Harriet. Harriet pulls away from me to follow Hershel inside.
HARRIET POV:
After I made sure that Sophia got back to her mother. But before I could do anything a young adult was on a horse camping towards us. “Im looking for a Harriet potter-black.” This women says. I slowly walked over to this women. “That’s me. How do you now me.” I simply said to her. “I’m am hear because I was sent here for you but your husband Rick. You have to come with me Jim has been shot.” She tells me. I new that I needed to go with her. “Look lady first I ain’t going with someone I don’t know.” I told her. She went on to tell me that her name was maggie.
I looked over to my family and group. I could tell that Daryl didn’t trust this women. “Ok I will go with you.” I told maggie. I got on the back of the horse and maggie went on to tell them we’re to find the farm.
Once we had got to the said farm, and wow was all I could think. It was beautiful to look at, but all I needed was Rick. I turned to Maggie and told her to take me to Rick.
She told me to follow her so I did. I know that taking the kids with me was stupid but there is no way I was leaving my kids.
As I walked closer, to see another young girl approached me. I pulled Carl and Teddy close to me. "Hi, I'm Beth, It's nice to meet you. Your husband is in the room with my father," Beth says. "Thank you, Beth. You can call me Harriet, and these two are my Babies Carl and Teddy," I sweetly replied back to her.
I like the sound of Rick being called my husband. I didn't correct her once again. "Would you like me sister to watch your children while you go and see your husband. Beth will keep your children safe.” Maggie says to me.
"Yes, thank you, that would be lovely, Maggie. But please remember Beth look after them," i said to Both maggie and Beth.
I made my way over only to see Rick outside on the porch. I could see that he had been crying. He pulls me to him and wraps his arms around me so tight that I feel the love seeping from Rick. I was about to kiss Rick when the front door opened, and an elderly man appeared in it.
"You must be Miss Black. Please, I don't know how long Jim can hold on. So please, call me Hershel Miss Black," this guy tells me. I softly pull away from Rick and walks into the room.
After having a moment with Hershel, he tells me that Jim can't survive long without the help he really needs. I made my way over to Jim and slowly placed my hand over Jim's head. I looked over to Rick and tried to get him to get Hershel out of the room.
It was too early to tell Hershel about magic. "But I need to be heard to help," Hershel tried to say. I told Hershel I needed to be alone to try to help him. In the end, he did leave. I got to work and began to get the shrapnel fragments out of his body. There were a lot of pieces in his body.
I could feel myself getting weak, but I knew that I needed to carry on to save him. I tried to control myself, but I was getting weak. Rick saw this and told me to use some of his energy. I gave a small smile, placed my hand in his and carried on with my work. 2 hours later, I had done all that I could do to try and keep him alive. I had mended his body, but he still needed help from medicine because Jim was a muggle.
"Come, my love, you need rest, and the kids need you," Rick says to me. I knew that he was right, so I went to the room we were given to me while Rick went to get the kids. It wasn't long before I heard the soft voice of Teddy calling out to be followed by Carl.
"Mama, Mama," Teddy says to me, and I never tire of Ted calling me Mama.
"Hi, Baby, you been a good boy for Maggie," I softly replied.
"Yes, mum, we both have been good. Haven't we, Teddy," Carl says. I really didn't know what to say. I knew that Carl saw me as his mother. But hearing him call me mum, well, it made me feel happy and sad at the same time.
I never wanted Lori to lose her son, but there is nothing I can do about it. "I'm glad that my boys were good. Now, why don't you both go and get some sleep? I will make some food when you wake up," I told them both. Rick took them back to the living room. Rick came back and lay on the bed with me.
"I know that Carl calling you mum shocked you, but it is how he sees you, my love," Rick explained to me. I softly smile at him.
"I know Rick, but I felt happy and sad, happy because he is my son and sad because I feel like I stole Lori's son," I told him.
Rick sits up and puts a finger under my chin to get me to look at him. "She has never been a good mother to Carl. He has always been a meal ticket to her. So please remember that Carl loves you as his mother," Rick says. I knew that Rick was right. I just felt like a bad person for taking their son from them.
"I know Rick, and I love Carl as my son. I think I just felt like I was taking Lori's job," I tried to explain to him.
I don't even know how long I had been asleep, but I felt better, so I got up and checked on my kids. Walking into the living area to see Rick sitting at the table feeding Teddy while Carl sat on the sofa. It was a sight to see, I can tell you that. Before I checked on Jim, I went over to Rick and wrapped my arms around him. "Good afternoon, my love. Did you sleep ok?" Rick asks me. I kissed him on his lips and whispered: "I did thank you, babe." I looked down to Teddy and gave him a kiss on his forehead. "Hello, my little one," I said to Teddy while walking over to Carl. "You ok, son?" I asked.
Carl looks at me and gives me a soft smile. "I'm ok, thanks, mom." I didn't realize that I was crying till Carl pointed it out. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry," he tries to say. I look at him and pull him into my arms. "No, Carl, you didn't upset me. You just said something that made me very happy you called me mom," I said back to him.
I told them that I was going to check on Jim. I also told them to inform me when uncle Merle gets back. I knew that the rest of our group would be here soon. So I just wanted to get this done before then. I walked over to Jim and placed and hand on his head, and his fever had gone down a bit which was a good sign. "Don't worry, Jim. I try everything I can to try and save you," I said to an unconscious Jim.
I get out my wand and move it over his body. He is still in bad shape, I just hope that I can get the medicine he needs. I heard the door open to see Hershel standing there.
"Harriet, I just came to tell you that your group has turned up. They are making camp in the garden," Hershel explains to me.
I thank him and keep on looking after Jim. But, just as I was about to get some fresh water, Jim started to go into a seizure, and it was a big one.
It wasn't long before Otis and uncle Merle come back. It was a good thing, too, because I don't think that Jim would have survived much longer. I wanted to go and make sure that my uncle was ok, but I knew that I needed to help Jim first. As soon as I administered the meds, I knew that Jim would be ok. After that, I went to look at uncle Merle, and all he had was a sprained ankle and a few bruises, while Otis had a few cuts and a wound, but it wasn't a bit wound. "I'm glad that you are back and safe. Oh, and Sophia is safe. I found her," I happily said to uncle Merle.
"Little moon, you don't have to worry. Old Merle will always be here," he says while placing a hand on my shoulder. Before I could say anything, we could hear shouting coming from outside. Both uncle Merle and I look at each other and walk out the door to see what happing.
I could hear Fred tell them that they needed to leave. That they weren't wanted. I took a closer look. Standing there was Luna Lovegood and Charlie Weasley. I felt anger that they were here as they had both abandoned me, Teddy and my brothers. So one thing needed answering why were they there and what did they want?
I walked over to where Fred was and looked at them both, and they both seemed happy to see me. "What are you doing here?" I asked them both. I could see that my word hurt them. But as of right now, they were on the other side. "Harriet, it..." Charlie tries to say, but I wouldn't let him finish. "Don't just don't, Charlie. You told me that I was just a waste of magic. Do you know how much that fucking hurt Charlie? Umm, no, you don't," I told them went to walk away. Before I could, Luna spoke up. "Dumbledore used mind control on us, Harriet. You know I would never say something like that, as would Charlie. Molly got so angry that we got away. We just knew we needed to find you and Fred and George," Luna explains.
I looked over to Charlie and knew they were telling the truth. "What do you think, Har," Fred and George asked me. "They are telling the truth. Charlie and Luna are welcome to our group. You will meet the rest later. Some as gone to look for supplies," I replied back.
I knew I needed to induce everyone, so I made to start with my family. "Well, Luna, Charlie, I would like you to meet my sons Teddy and Carl, and this to my right is Rick. He is my soulmate. Merle over by the barn is my blood uncle. He has a brother called Daryl, which is my other uncle," I told them. "I'm so happy for you, Harriet, that you found your mate," Charlie says to me. I thanked him. I also let them meet the rest of the group, and they all seemed to like Charlie and Luna.
"Wow, Harriet, there are a lot of nargles around here," Luna says to me. "Plus, you have wrackspurt," Luna also says. Rick looks at me and asks: "What is a wrackspurt?" I smiled at him and told him that it was just how Luna was. "They are invisible. They float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy. I thought I felt one zooming around here," she tells Rick.
"Rick, how long do you think Maggie, Glenn and Daryl will be?" I asked Rick. Rick looks over at me. "They should be back by noon, my love," Rick replies. "I suspect that the nargles are keeping them holed up," Luna says. I really have missed Luna so much.
Looking down at Teddy and he was still fast asleep. I placed a kiss on his forehead and my hand in Ricks, and as we started to walk, I heard uncle Merle shouting. We both made our way over to him, and I could tell that he was very pissed off.
"Uncle Merle, what is wrong?" I asked him. He looks over to me "They have walkers in the dam fucking barn that, is what. How sick are they to keep them? We need to sort this out. Old Merle will do it," uncle Merle tells me.
I knew that my uncle was right. I don't want them near the kids. I could tell that Rick was not agreeing with Merle. But something needed to be done, or I would leave and take the kids with me. I turned to Rick.
"Rick, I won't stay here with geeks in the barn if they stay them. I'm taking the kids and leaving. I love you, Rick, but my family comes first, and you are part of my family. So please, Rick." I begged. I new that my whole family was on my side. I new that my uncle’s and my brother’s would never let me stay somewhere I would be in danger.
Rick looked at me and placed my hand in his. "Love, we are guests here. I will talk to Hershel, Ok." Rick tries to say to me. "Rick, I won't be staying here with them in the barn. I'm going to take my RV and camp on the outland of the farm," was all I said before I walked away with both Teddy and Carl with me. I was so angry Rick thought, this is ok. Well, it's not. My chest is hurting, and I know it is because Rick is not by me. But right now, it just needed Rick to come to his senses.
RICK POV:
Watching Harriet walk away breaks me deep in the side. I knew I was doing something stupid, but this wasn't out of the land. I just know that I cant lose Harriet. I just can't. I need to make it up to her. But first, I need to have a talk with Hershel.
"Not so fast, officer friendly. What did I say would happen if you ever hurt my little moon. You better sort this out now because I can't have her hurting because you won't protect your family," Merle tells me.
I knew that Merle would be angry with me. I also knew that her brothers would be as well. "I know that I have hurt her, Merle, but this is not our land. I will sort it out with Hershel. Then I will talk to Harriet," I told Merle. I knew most of the group would probably hate me for this, but what am I meant to do. We are guests at this farm.
I walk up the house and find Hershel in the kitchen sitting down. "You didn't tell us that you have walkers in your barn. They need to be sorted, and you know it," I said to Hershel.
"This is not your house, Rick. It's mine. They are staying there. You are all safe," Hershel tries to tell me. I told him Harriet had already left to stay at the front of the land. He told me that they would not hurt anyone.
"Look, Hershel..." I didn't even get to finish what I was trying to say because I could hear gunshots. Running outside, I found Jim standing in front of the barn, with a gun in his hand. And he was shooting at the walkers.
"Die, you fuckers!" Jim shouted out. I could see Maggie and Beth crying. While Hershel was so upset that he told us to get off his land.
I knew that what Jim had done was right. I hope that Harriet can forgive me. Daryl and Merle were angry, and so were Fred and George. I needed to talk to Harriet, so I made my way over to where the RV was and walked in, and there was Harriet sat down while both Carl and Teddy were asleep.
"I'm sorry, Harriet. I just wanted to stay a little bit longer, but Hershel wants us to leave because of Jim," I said to him. Harriet looked at me, and I could tell that she had been crying. "What do you mean because of Jim?" Harriet asks me.
I told her that Jim had woken up and shot the lot of them.
"I'm so sorry that I hurt you, my love, I just," I started to say before Harriet spoke to me. "I will always want you safe. Please, forgive me," I softly said.
"I know that you are sorry, and I do fore give you. I love you, Rick. I just need to keep my family safe," Harriet tells me.
"I know, and I'm sorry, my love. I will always put Teddy and Carl first. You mean too much to me to lose you," I told her as I wrapped my arms around her.
"I love you too, Rick," Harriet replies.
I stayed by her side all night. I just felt better with her in my arms and close to me. I think we need to talk to the group and see what we should do stay or leave.
