Chapter 5).
It didn't take us long to get to the CDC. Once there, we started to look for a way in. Sadly I could not find one without the rest of the group finding out about my magic. I watched as Rick begged a camera to let us in, but when the door wouldn't open, I knew that I would have to do something.
"Please, you're killing us," Rick kept saying over and over.
I decided to say something because I could see that there were a lot of walkers coming close to us.
"Look, my name is Harriet Potter-Black. Can you please let us in?" I asked politely.
Only a second later, the shutters lifted open. Bright light spills out, and a voice asks us if any of us are bitten. I inform it, none of us have. As we all walked in, the man introduced himself. He also tells us once the doors close, they will not open again. At the time, I didn't realize what Jenner meant by that.
We all had some blood pulled, then got told that there was hot water, food, and rooms for us all.
We all sat in the mess hall, laughing and joking about things that just didn't seem funny. For once, it felt good to just not worry about geeks coming. Rick opened the wine and poured us all a glass. I glace over to Jenner to check he had a full cup and some food. Dale tells Rick in Italy, children can have a little bit of wine with their dinner.
I just looked at him shaking my head. "Well, when Carl is in Italy or France, he can have some," I said back to Dale. I mean, come on, to give children wine is a no-no in my book.
Rick looks over to me and says: "What's it gonna hurt. Come on." I pull a face at him, which causes the rest to agree with Rick.
"Look, I just don't want my children having Alcohol. Please understand that, Rick." I attempted to explain to Rick. I knew I was being silly, but I just did not feel right giving a child wine. "Sis, it will only be a small bit as I know that Carl won't like the taste," Fred explained to me.
"Ok," I gave in, "but only a bit and no more."
"Here you go, young lad," Dale says while giving Carl a bit of wine. I watch as Carl takes a sip, and Rick smiles beside him. Carl pulls a face "Eeeewwwwww." That was all he could say while pulling a face. Everyone starts laughing, but I'm just glad that he doesn't like the taste. I look at Carl and say: "That's my boy." And I took his glass.
"It tastes nasty," Carl says.
Which makes everyone start laughing again. My uncle Daryl was teasing Glenn while the rest was enjoying their food. I looked over to uncle Merle, and I could tell there was something wrong. I will need to talk to him later.
Rick taps his glass and stands up. "It seems to me that we haven't thanked our host properly," Rick says to everyone.
T-dog chimes in: "That he is more than just our host."
The group gives their cheers to Dr. Jenner. This fest was a wonderful one. One such as this only transpires when it is a special event.
"So when are you going to tell us what the heck has happened here, Doc." Jim, asked the Dr. I could tell that Jenner didn't want to talk about it.
"Jim, that right now was not the time," I said to him.
"Sorry, Harriet, you are right. I'm sorry, Doc," Jim agrees. We all carried on eating, and I watched as Jenner and some of the group left.
I decided that now was the time to talk to uncle Merle. I passed Teddy to Rick and told him that I needed to speak to my uncle. "Ok, hun. Call me if you need me." Rick softly says to me. I smiled and placed a warm and soft kiss on his lips.
"Uncle Mer, can I talk to you for a moment, please," I said. He nod's his head yes to me and follows me.
"Ok, I'm just going to ask, are you ok? You seem like your head is in another place," I said to him.
"You don't need to worry about old Merle. Old Merle's ok, little moon." That was all he said to me.
"Ok, but if you need to talk, please come and talk to me. Wait, are you high, for fuck sake! Uncle Merle, why would you take that stuff again. After all, I have done to help you. Fuck why!" I shout angrily to uncle Merle. He was just looking at me, and I knew he was trying to think of what to say. "Please stop, uncle Merle. I have 2 uncles, and I don't want to lose them. So please stop," I said while I started to cry.
Uncle Merle came and wrapped his arms around me and tried to calm me down. "I'm sorry little moon, I just sometimes don't think," Uncle says to me. I told him I would give him something to take the cravings away and lessen the urge.
"I will take what you give me," was the only thing he said to me. I told him that the stuff I needed was in my bag. We both walked back to the mess hall and found most of the group was still eating and drinking. I grabbed my bag and passed two jars to uncle Merle. "Take one now and one in the morning, ok," I said while walking over to Rick and the kids.
"Everything ok, my love." Rick softly asked me. I told him that all was ok.
Jim and Glenn, as well as Daryl, were pretty deep in their glasses. While they decided to keep going, the rest of us called it a night.
Sitting and laughing like that was a happy moment that we all knew that we wouldn't have many in the future. But I will make sure that we can all sit down and have food without looking over our shoulders in the future.
Rick and I put a sleeping Teddy and Carl in one room, and we took the room next to them. I didn't want to be far away from the kids. Carl has become like a second son to me in only a short time. Plus, Carl already loved Teddy and saw him as his baby brother.
It seemed I had been lost in thought because I could hear Rick calling my name a few times. "Sorry Rick is was thinking," I said to him.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and softly kissed me. "If you want to, you can show first," he tells me. I smiled at him and walked into the bathroom.
After I had finished my shower, I told Rick that it was all his. I put on a pair of night shorts and I t-shirt. Then I quickly checked on the kids, which were both fast asleep. I placed a kiss on both of their foreheads.
Walking back into the room, I found that Rick was already on the bed in only a pair of boxers. I could not take my eyes off his body. All I could think about was how I wanted to lick his chest.
Shaking my head, I look back over to Rick. He was looking at me with his beautiful smile. He pats the bed, and I walk over to him. I climb on the bed, and the only thing that I can think of is kissing his lips. Before I can do that, Rick pulls me close to him and kisses me with so much passion I couldn't help but let out a moan. I knew that I wasn't ready to go all the way, but none the less I needed to feel close to Rick.

I didn't even know what time it was when I was woken up by Teddy's cries.
"Ma...ma," my baby cried out for me. Walking into the room, I found Carl trying to calm Teddy.
"I tried to help, but he just kept on crying," Carl tells me. I told him it was because Teddy needed a bottle and a nappy change. So after changing the nappy, I asked Carl if he wanted to feed Ted.
"I would like to try, please," Carl softly says to me.
Carl was going to be a great big brother for Teddy. I decided to go and shower and get dressed, then make a start on making breakfast for everyone. Co

I get pulled out of my thoughts as someone calls my name: "Harriet, are you ok. Harriet." I turned to the voice to find Carol standing there with her daughter.
"Yes, I'm sorry, I was just thinking. I have made breakfast for you all." I happily say to her.
Making sure I had a plate for Rick and Carl set aside and enough food before I went to wake up my uncles. I know what my uncles are like. They will make sure that others have plenty well, not this time. I need to place my family before the others to ensure their survival.
As I was finally about to sit down in the makeshift dining room, I got the same feeling I did when I entered this building. I look over at Jenner. I could tell that there was guilt all over his face. I heard Rick thanking our host, but I knew that we wouldn't be staying here for long. I needed to speak to my uncles and Rick. I just can't seem to trust Jenner.
I waited till Jenner left the room to ask Rick and my uncles to come to the kitchen. I turned to Carl at asked him: "Carl, sweetling. Could you look after Teddy, please, while I talk to your dad and my uncles." Carl softly smiles up at me.
"Of course, I will look after my brother." Gave them both a small kiss on the forehead.
I go to the kitchen and make sure that they are following me. Taking a small breath, I turn around. "Look, I have to tell you something, but we just have to wait for my brothers as well, then I will tell you." They all nodded to me. I could tell that my uncles were both looking worried.
It didn't take long for Fred and George to stumble into the kitchen in search of me, looking worried, just like I did. So they have the same feeling that I had about this.
"You feel it to Har?" Fred says to me.
"You do, don't you," George finished.
Rick and Merle were looking at me while Daryl was looking at my brothers. "Yes, I do. Fred, George, we need to leave as soon as possible," I tell them all.
"What do you mean with leaving, the little moon?" Merle asks me.
I look over at him, and I try to explain. "I think that Dr. Jenner is going to blow up this building. So please, we need to leave. I will not let my family die, so please go and get your things. While I get the food and medical supplies. We will all meet up back in the kitchen." I told him while leaving the room.
"Wait, Harriet, please, love. Are you sure about this?" Rick calmly asks me. "Yes, Rick, please go and tell everyone else," I replied to him. An hour later, I had all the food and other supplies we would need, and we met up again, back up in the kitchen. Everyone was there except for Jacqui. I knew simply know, she would stay, and there was nothing that I could do about it. I told Merle to look after Teddy and Carl while I would get Jenner to open the doors.
Once I had made it to the main console room, I saw Jenner and Jacqui. I stormed over to him and slapped him hard across the face. "You son of a bitch, you will open the door, or I will make you feel real pain. Now open the fucking doors!" I said with hatred in my voice.
"I did warn you all that once they are shut, they will not be opened again. Don't you get it? This is better. You all won't feel anything..."
I didn't let him finish what he was saying as I slapped him again in the face.
"Fine, but you are no safer out there than in hear," he told me.
I found myself laughing at him. "That is what you want," I said as I pulled out my wand.
The look on his face tells me that he knew what I was. "You're a witch. Your kind started this all," he says to me. I told him that he was wrong. I turned and walked out of the room and back to the rest.
"Come on, we don't have long. The building is about to blow." I screamed at them all.
Making sure that Teddy and Carl are safe, I turn to Rick and tell him to cover everyone. I told him that I would bust the shutters open. "BOMBARDA," I shouted out, the shutter blew open, and I told them all to run. Once we got to my RV, I put a shield around us all. The CDC exploded, causing Teddy to scream out. I took him from Merle to soothe him.
I knew that now I would have to tell the rest of the group who exactly I was. Well, I wasn't going to let them die. Andrea and Amy. Jim, Theodore went with Dale, while my family took Carol and Sophie and Glenn came with me. Next stop, finding the prison, I hope.
