Chapter 2).
Chapter 2:
HARRIET POV:
Fred opened the door for us, so we could all walk in, and instantly Teddy spotted me and called out to me. "Ma - Ma - Ma," babbled Teddy.
"Did you all hear it? He called me Ma! Oh, Teddy, my sweet boy," I exclaimed.
Hearing Teddy call me Ma made me so happy.
"Oh, you make mummy very happy. Yes, yes you do," prattled George to Teddy.
"Oh and George, this is my dad's brother, Merle. He and his brother are with a group of people," I explained to George.
"It's all right, Har, we will find your other uncle," reassured George. "Very nice to meet you, Mr. Dixon, you can call me George," he offered to Merle.
"Lovely to meet you, George. Call me Merle. It's especially nice to meet a little one," replied Merle.
So we went all together in search of Merle's people. It didn't take long to find the camp. Halfway up a hill we parked the RV and stood in front of it. We were talking about how to best approach the, but the decision was taken out of our hands. Soon, we could see them coming to us.
RICK GRIMES POV:
I am so happy to be reunited with my family, but it also was painful to watch my wife and Shane cheating on me behind my back. The affair had been going on for a while now. It started well before the dead began to rise, hell, before I was shot on duty and fell into a coma. Lori and Shane had been more open with their affair since then. Subconsciously I had always known that Shane had wanted her, but naively I thought that he would never do that to me.
Lori did not know it, but I had filed for a divorce. She did not know that she had signed the papers, but that will change soon. I am glad that soon I will be free from that woman, and I will make sure that my son will stay with me.
When I had arrived at the camp, I had soon realised that Shane hated that I was alive. I knew that he would have just left me in the hospital to die.
At least my son, Carl, was glad to see me.
The next thing I had to do was tell Merle's brother what had happened in Atlanta. The brother, Daryl, was hunting some game.
It was not long before Daryl arrived and called out to his brother.
Sadly Shane was the first to reach Daryl and tell him the news about his brother.
Daryl went wild and just lost it with T-dog because he lost the key and left his brother chained on a roof in a walker-infested city. I tried to calm him down and explain what had happed and that Merle was safe because we had blocked the door. Daryl was furious at T-dog and me and too angry to listen.
While I told him that I was going back, Lori was taking too, but I did not listen to her. Suddenly, I realized that now was the perfect time to tell her about the divorce.
"Oh, and Lori, we are no longer married. Have you never wondered if I knew that you and Shane were fucking? I had you sign the papers a month before I got shot." It felt good to tell her.
I saw that Lori was getting angry: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M NOT YOUR WIFE," she screamed at me.
"Do you remember the papers I had you sign? Well, that were divorce papers, and they were finalized about a week before I got shot," I told her. "You didn't think that I didn't know about you and Shane," I said as I walked away from her.
I could hear them all talking about what they had just heard.
"Rick, please, man, I never meant..." started Shane to apologize but did not let him finish and just walked over to Daryl.
I could still hear Shane calling out to me, so I turned around and said: "She is all yours, Shane."
I could see that Carl was crying.
" You can not do that it, was only one time," tried Shane again. He was starting to piss me off.
"Shane, I know that it was more than once, so don't you ever say any different." I spat angrily at Shane.
I needed to talk to Carl before I could clear the air with Daryl. My son came first. It hurt me to see him cry. "Carl, it's going to be all right," I told him as I kneeled and pulled him into my arms.
"Dad, I knew that they did things, but I..." I stopped him because there was no need for words. "I want to stay with you, dad," whispered Carl softly into my shoulder. I was relieved because I wanted him to stay with me as well.
After he had calmed down, I searched for the elderly man of the group. I think his name was Dale. It had been my job to know people's characters just from a look, and Dale seemed to be all right. I wanted to ask him if he would look after Carl for me for a short while. Of course, Dale agreed to watch Carl.
Finally, I could turn my attention to Daryl and went to tell him I was now ready to return to the city to get his brother back.
A short while later, we were ready to go. Daryl, Glenn, T-dog, and I got into a van.
"Rick, are you ok?" Glenn asks me.
"I'm fine," I replied.
We got about halfway down when we noticed an RV. In front of the RV stood a woman with a baby in her arms, as well as two men. We got closer, and I could make out the details of one of the men standing next to the woman; it was Merle, who looked better than the last time I saw him.
We stopped in front of them. Daryl was out of the van and went over to his brother before the car had stopped. The rest of us stood next to the car and watched as they hugged.
After a while, Merle looked up from his brother and saw T-dog and me.
"Well, well if it ain't officer friendly and the nigger," greets Merle.
"Merle, we were coming to get you," I said to him. Merle said nothing and looked at his brother.
"Brother, come and meet the people that saved me. Here we have Harriet and her son Teddy, and those two over there are her sorts of brothers Fred and George," introduced Merle.
"Daryl, do you remember our brother James? Well, this is his daughter Harriet," explained Merle to Daryl.
"Wow! We found our true family. Nice to meet you, Harriet and Teddy as well," said Daryl. "And the three stooges are Rick, Glenn, and T-dog," Daryl introduces in turn.
I looked over to the girl called Harriet and glanced into her eyes. A shiver ran down my spine. I felt a connection there like I had known her my entire life. Her beautiful eyes had an intense green color that seemed to look right into me. What was this feeling?
HARRIET POV:
"It is good to meet you, uncle Daryl," I said happily to him.
"Oh, Shane and Lori are not gonna like this," exclaimed Glenn out loud.
"And who are they?" I asked Glenn. Glenn went on to tell me who they were. I could already tell just from this description that I would not like them.
"Well, if they are that bad, then I want both of my uncles in the RV with me. Also, no one, and I mean no one, touches my RV or takes anything from it. Trust me. It would not end pretty," I told them. They nodded their head in agreement.
While I talked, I looked into Rick's eyes. Instantly I knew that he was my mate and that hopefully, I would be happy. Ok, I was happy with my son, who I loved more than anything in the world.
I knew that I should tell Rick that we were mates and explain what that meant so that he had time to come to terms with it.
So I walked over to Rick and asked if I could talk to him. He nodded his head and followed me.
Just as I was about to open the door to the RV, Fred asked if he could talk to me. "Rick, just a second, please, I will be right back," I whispered to him.
"Um...ok," replied Rick.
I made my way over to Fred.
"Harriet, please tell me the truth. Did you find your mate in Rick?" Fred asks me.
"Yes! Fred, I finally found my mate. I hope that he will want me," I replied to Fred.
"Don't be silly. I know Rick is feeling the mating bound just like you are. Now go and talk to him while we drive up to this camp," ordered Fred. I hugged him and went to talk to Rick.
"Wow! It is a beautiful RV you got. It is bigger on the inside. How did you do that, if you don't mind me asking?" inquires Rick.
I show him around the RV, which was indeed bigger on the inside, and with a soft voice, I ask him to take a seat. "Well, to be blunt. I'm a witch. I can do magic. There is a whole community of us. Only magical people are allowed to know this." I tell him.
I watch him, sitting there thinking about what I had just told him. "If only your kind is to know, then why are you telling me. Although I think I heard my grandparents talk about hogwash or something," replied Rick.
Wait, so does that mean Rick already knew about us then? "Rick, I feel a little bit of power in you. And before you ask, no, you are not a wizard. It is because you are my soulmate. You don't have to be with me, but I hope you want to. It can hurt when your mate rejects you," I explained to Rick.
I feared that Rick would look disgusted at me, but no, he looked at me and just smiled. "So that would explain why I felt like my whole body was on fire when I looked into your eyes. I can't reject you as I feel that you are already mine," Rick happily tells me.
I wanted to jump for the joy. He wanted me back. It makes me happy that he wants me the same way. "I'm glad, Rick, because you are mine too," I said as I pulled Rick into a kiss that made my heart want to beat out of my chest.
My first kiss was perfect. "Thank you, Rick, you gave me my first real kiss. Our body will know when the time is right to go further. Are you ok with that? You have to understand I have never been with a man. I wanted to wait for my mate," I told him. I felt so nervous.
Rick pulled me into a warm hug that made me want to stay like this forever. "I understand, Harriet. We will take this step by step," whispered Rick to me.
"There is one more thing, Rick. The bond will also include my son, Teddy. He will recognize you as his dad. Are you ok with that?" I asked him while I reached for his hand to hold it in mine.
"I'm ok with that, Harriet. I also already have a son. He is at the camp with a friend," he replied. He went on to tell me about Lori and that she is never to come near Carl, his son.
Rick asked if I could tell him my full name. "My full name is Lady Harriet Potter-Black," I told him.
As Rick met Teddy, I knew that my son would love him. Just like I knew that Rick would love my son.
"Rick, there is a thing I can do that will bond us together. It will ensure that no one can have me and no one can have you. A bond that will always keep us safe. It will also protect my son. I don't trust the people in your camp. Not after what you have told me," I calmly said to Rick.
"I would like that very much, Harriet. Can you also do that so my son will be protected as well?" Rick asked me happily.
"Rick, he is your son. That makes him a part of the bound as well. How do you think your ex-wife will take me being a mother to her son?" I ask.
"Harriet, she is never to come near Carl again," Rick tells me.
"Ok, love-birds, we are at the campsite," George shouts out to us. I couldn't help but blush while Rick just smiled at me.
"Well, let's do this," I said to them.
As George opens the door, a man comes over and mouths off to us. "Give us what you got, and you can join this group," demanded this horrible man. I was not taking any shit from him.
"I don't think so. These are all my things from my own home. So no, you can't have them," I replied.
"Who do you think you are..." he did finish as Rick stopped him.
"Back the fuck off, Shane, I mean it. You will not touch her stuff. Do you understand me?" said Rick while he pushed him away.
So this was Shane. I did not like him because he reminded me too much of my Uncle Vernon. "Shane is right. Rick, we have to share. So, girl, the right thing to do is share with us all," said a woman, who I guessed was Lori.
"Listen to me. That stuff is my family's stuff. You are not getting any. If you do, I will leave, and I will be taking my uncle Merle and Daryl with me. And so will Rick and his son. So back the fuck of now," I said to this bitch.
She started going on about and on about that Rick is hers. Well, I don't think so. He was mine.
"Look, if they leave, they take two of the people that bring us food. We need them. So both Shane and you, Lori, need to back off. Because if they do leave, I will be leaving with them," stated Dale.
Everyone but Shane, Lori, and Ed sided with us. Shane and Lori did not like that.
I made sure that Fred put the RV further away from everyone else. I did know that we won't be staying long. During our ride here, I had told Rick this. My dad, Sirius, Severus, and a few others, were currently located at a prison. Rick already assured me that he and Carl would be coming with us when we went there.
I felt hands wrap around me, and I turn to see Rick placing a kiss on my shoulder then on my lips. If looks could kill, Lori would do just that. She looked so angry because she had been trying to get Rick's attention all night. But he hasn't left my side, even as Carl cuddled up beside him.
She reminded me of a male version of Ron. He wanted me to marry him, and I said no. That is when most of the Weasley's began to hate me. The only ones who were still on my side were Bill and Charlie.
I missed my dad and the others, but soon I will see them when I get to this prison.
I had invited Rick and Carl to spend the night in our RV, taking extra care to place a lot of protection around it. I told Rick that Carl could sleep in Teddy's room with him. "Thank you," said Carl to me, bid us good night, and went to sleep.
Rick stayed with me in my room, and no, we didn't do anything like what you might be thinking. Not that I would mind. But my body is not ready for that just yet.
Everyone was fast asleep, and my mind began to wander to Remus. I missed him and Tonks. I just hoped they were happy with the way I raised Teddy. No, I know they would be proud of me, that I raised Teddy and the way I did it. He is my son, and I love him. I fell asleep thinking about Rick and how happy I felt.
