The Hogwarts express
Alex woke up to her alarm and after finishing her normal morning routine(excluding having breakfast) walked down to have breakfast. The rest of her family were already sitting at the table(though hadn't been for long). Mathias was still in pajamas meanwhile Gracie had on white blouse with black skinny jeans and rainbow sneakers. Alex herself was wearing a green dress which went to her knees and had a blue ribbon tied around the waist, with a pair of strappy white sandals. As for their hair both girls had it styled in braids(one on each side of their heads).
Once breakfast was finished Alex went upstairs to spend sometime alone before the family left at 9:30. They left at the previously mentioned time arriving at the station at 10:30. They then spent 15 minutes on goodbyes and other such stuff before allowing the girls to get on the train at 10:45.
Alex walked over to one of the doors to get on the train and nearly collided with someone about her age.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there. I'm Alexandria, but you can call me Alex, She/Her. What is your name and pronouns?" she asked before getting a good look at the 11 nearly 12 year old.
Said pre-teen was about an inch taller than Alex's 5'2 frame. They were pretty skinny and had chocolate brown eyes. Their hair was also brown and was extremely curly. Although it was cut to go to about their chin. Their clothes were pretty boring, they were just wearing a simple black sweater with blue jeans and black converse. They had also done the same trick as Alex(and Gracie once she had given her the idea) of doing a extending and feather-light charm on a backpack to carry all of their stuff instead of a trunk like everyone else. Their bag was pretty different from Gracie and Alex's as well. Gracie's bag was just pink, while Alex had a black backpack which had a bunch of pride as well as other types of pins and patches stuck all over it. This strangers bag however was a blue and black messenger bag.
"Why does it matter? You won't believe me anyway."
"Of course I will. Why wouldn't I?"
"Nobody else does."
"Well, I'm not everyone else."
"Fine, whatever. I'm Damian Granger, He/Him."
"It's nice to meet you Damian. I don't mean to be rude, but are you trans?"
The boy rolled his eyes and said "Yes.".
"Nice!" Alex exclaimed surprising Damian "Me to!".
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
"What's your last name by the way?"
"Dursely. But, you would probably know me better by the last name Potter."
"Oh, why the switch."
"When my aunt and uncle, who just for reference I call my parents, adopted me, they originally left my name the same. But, when I changed my name when I was five I decided to also change my last name."
"Oh, cool."
"So, Damian, you wanna sit together?"
"Sure."
The pair made their way onto the train and were looking for a seat when Alex noticed a familiar face.
Alex walked into a compartment where a blonde eleven year old who had a, just longer than their chin, bob-cut was sitting. They had on overalls which ended in shorts at their mid thigh over top of a rainbow tee-shirt. They also had on galaxy vans and rainbow cat ears.
"Hey, Draco was it."
Said person looked up and said "Oh, Alex. Hi, nice to see you again."
"I see things have changed in the month since I met you."
"Yeah, um. I actually go by Katalina, or Kat, now. And um I use They/Them pronouns."
"Nice, so this is Damian. He uses He/Him pronouns." she said before looking over at the boy "Right?".
"Yeah." He simply replied.
"So, can we sit here."
"Yeah, yeah. Of course."
The other two pre-teens sat down and the three spent the rest of the train ride talking about this, and that. During said discussion Alex found out that Damian was an only child. Meanwhile Kat had a four year old brother named Hyperion. She also informed them about her siblings, among other things.
Although it had only existed for a short while, and was barely classified as a friendship yet, the three kids would turn out to be extremely close. Something that made a portion of the wizarding world terrified(and disgusted) and the other part excited for what would come.
