A fly can speak, Dean
Link to the german version: Fliegen können nicht reden, Dean
The bunker was quiet that day, yet you could hear the soft sound of rock music echoing off the walls. Dean squeezed his alarm clock with a growl. He pushed the sheets aside and stared at the ceiling for a few moments. He puffed and rubbed his face before getting up and going to the washroom. He turned on the water jet and let the hot water run over his body. He looked at the bruises left from a hunt a few days ago. He washed and dried himself. He stopped in front of the mirror and looked at himself. His face was still scarred from the hunt and the gash on his right eyebow bore witness to it. After dressing, he made his way to the library.
When he entered the room, he froze. He stood in front of the table on which hundreds of books were opened. He held one of them in his hands. He was dressed in black trousers and a simple white shirt, the sleeves of which he had rolled up. His collar was open and his black hair was dishevelled. Dean suddenly felt very hot. He didn't know when his feelings for the angel had changed. It had surprised him to feel something like that and especially for a man, had surprised him. But Castiel wasn't like the others and maybe that was why he had grown so fond of him. He watched him for quite a while, imagining the angel's hands touching his body and her lips on his. He was lost in thought until Castiel's voice echoed through the room.
" Are you going to help me or are you just going to stand here?
Dean felt a cold shiver run down his spine. He frowned when he heard the angel's tone. He pulled himself together and joined him at the table.
" What are we looking for?
For several days the brothers, Charlie and Castiel had been working on a demonic possession.
" A clue, anything!
Dean nodded his head. He looked around the room and asked Castiel where Sam was. The angel answered him that Sam had gone shopping with Charlie. Dean sat down at the table and began searching. From time to time he glanced at the angel who, oddly enough, was doing the same. Dean saw that the angel was blushing as he watched him. He had to smile at the sight.
Sam and Charlie returned later that afternoon and explained that they had found a case in one of the neighbouring towns.
They interrupted their search and went hunting.

Charlie hated hospitals. She hated the smell and the atmosphere. The "beep" of the machines and the sound of the nurses' shoes. She hated being there and yet there she was. At the reception a young woman had given her the room number and here she was, having climbed the floors. Outside door 320 she stood and waited. She didn't know what she was waiting for, but she was waiting. After a few seconds, she took a deep breath and opened the door. What she saw hurt her heart. Dean was lying there on the bed. A tube was coming out of his mouth and the beeping of the machines that indicated the rhythm of his heartbeat echoed through the room. And all because he had been caught off guard in the attack and because Castiel was gone, Dean couldn't be treated.
She put her bag down and walked over to Sam, who was dozing in the chair. She put her hand on his shoulder and he winced.
" Sam, you need to come home, you've been here for three days now, you need to sleep!
" I'm not going to move from this spot until he's awake!
Charlie nodded and continued.
" Then get a coffee and get out, I'm staying here!
Sam nodded and walked towards the door. Before he went through the door, he turned to Charlie and asked her if she had heard anything from Castiel. She shook her head. Sam left the room and went to the hospital cafeteria. He found it odd that the angel hadn't shown up since the hunt and hadn't inquired about Dean, after all, he was his charge.
Charlie talked. Talking to Dean relaxed her. She walked up and down the window and looked out when she saw him sitting on a bucket in the hospital park. She didn't wait for Sam to come back up, but went outside.
Outside, she sat down next to him and looked at the horizon. It was Castiel who broke the silence.
" How is he?
His voice was broken with emotion.
''He's hovering between life and death, but he'll be alright...'' Castiel, where have you been?
" I was visiting my other charges.
" Really?
Castiel bowed his head. Charlie watched him. His face, normally unmoving, showed many different emotions, one of which made Charlie smile. She had seen that expression on his face many times before, that expression of concern, especially when it came to Dean, but this time it also brought out something else.
" Cass, you have to talk to him!
" I can't, not after everything that's happened!
Charlie put her hand on his and Castiel looked at her. She had a shy smile on her soft face. Charlie knew that none of this was Castiel's fault. They stood looking at each other for a while.
After a few minutes, Castiel walked into the bedroom. What he saw broke his heart. His charge lay unconscious between life and death, his upper body rising in rhythm with his breathing. Castiel, who was far from having feelings, suddenly felt very bad. He sat down on the chair next to the bed, which was empty, and instinctively took Dean's hand in his. This gentle touch triggered a pleasant feeling of well-being in him. He longed for him to wake up. He wanted to lose himself in his green eyes, in his gaze that was tortured by all the trials life had thrown at him, but at the same time filled with love. He wondered if Dean felt the same way he did.
" Dean, I ask you to forgive me for everything.
Castiel knew at that moment that he would have no other way to express his feelings. So he spoke for several minutes about how he felt about the world and himself, but most of all about the person who made him human in a way. Dean.

The days passed after the visit to the hospital, Castiel was in the kitchen cleaning up.
" I knew I'd find you here!
Castiel stood up slowly, for he had thought he would never hear that voice again. He turned and faced his landlord. Dean was leaning against the doorjamb, his chestnut hair dishevelled, his skin marked by fatigue and he had his hands buried in the pockets of his jeans. Castiel thought he looked so handsome.
" When did you get out?" he asked him.
" Two hours ago, I think. Sam drove me here before he went somewhere with Charlie.
" Dean, I...
" No, " he said, stepping forward, " I don't want you to apologise again!
He got very close to Castiel. So close that their breaths became one. So close that they could feel the warmth of their bodies. Dean lost himself in the sea of Castiel's eyes. His angel's. He smelled her scent.
" Cass, everything you said at the hospital, did you mean it?
Castiel's eyes snapped open and he blushed. Dean had to smile, he thought he was so crisp, with his red cheeks.
" How ...
" You thought you were talking to a fly?
"Dean, flies can't talk!
" Oh, shut up!
Dean couldn't take it anymore. He broke the distance between himself and Castiel's seductive mouth and kissed him, soft and chaste. Castiel remained motionless for a few moments, then let himself fall. He wrapped his arms around Dean's neck and deepened the kiss. Dean ran his hands under the angel's trench coat, placed them on his reeds and pulled him closer. The effect was immediate. Castiel tightened his grip around his charge's neck and ran his hands through his charge's hair. Dean lifted him up and gently walked over to Castiel to lay him on the kitchen table without letting go of his lips. He had dreamed of this moment for a long time.
They stayed like that, Dean standing between Castiel's legs and Castiel sitting on the table, kissing. They were just in each other's presence, feeling his smell, his warmth and the taste of his lips. It was Sam's voice that stopped them after many minutes. Dean reluctantly broke away from Castiel's lips and Castiel got down from the table. Dean pulled the angel's trench coat back on before he was about to head for the exit, but Castiel grabbed him before he could walk out. Dean could see in his eyes how lost he was and that he wondered what would happen to them from this moment on. He approached the angel, his angel, and ran his hands down her neck, then held his gaze on Castiel.
" Don't worry, Sunshine, from now on I won't let you go!
