Something in the way she knows, and all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't want to leave her now. You know I believe and how.
Dannielle looked at the glass in front of her; she sat in a muggle bar by herself. Dannielle's light brown almost toffy coloured hair fell on the rim of her glass. Sighing she peered into it, only a caramel colour was all she could see. That and just her ring finger, but she didn't notice the small things that often.
She put down the glass and ran her hand through her hair; she had just turned 18 a few days ago and was celebrating it by herself. She had to leave Hogwarts for she was a muggle-born Ravenclaw student that was being attacked for it. She went into hiding with a couple of other muggle-born wizards from Hogwarts including Justin Finch-Fletchley, Lisa Turpin, Dean Thomas, Kevin Entwhistle and a couple of other muggle-borns.
Dannielle sighed and peered over her shoulder as she heard a sound from the door being open. A boy taller, much taller than her walked in, he looked like he hadn't slept in days, his ginger hair ragged and his clothes torn. He walked up next to her and he sat down, she didn't look at him or take one peek at him. Only to hear his rusty voice after a pint.
"Ronald Weasley, asking for some beer. Someone's grown up!" Dannielle said looking from her drink. The boy looked from the front of him to the mysterious girl next to him. He raised his eyebrow curious as to who was this girl and how did she know his name.
"Who's saying this?" he questioned her still with a raised eyebrow; he turned around to face the girl.
He didn't take notice of her when he walked in and just saw a free seat to think and collect his thoughts. Not knowing she'd meet a girl in this muggle bar who seemed to know who he was. Maybe she was a muggle-born witch, or a half-blood going into hiding out of fear. Her right eye looked at him, she looked back to her drink slowly and chuckled taking a long sip out of the liquid. She put down her cup and kept the smirk upon her lips.
"Dannielle Portola" she said, Dannielle has Italian and English background with both her parent's parents coming from Italy and her parents born in England, she had the olive skin much like an Italian. Dannielle moved around so she could face the boy she had seen since their first year. She held her hand out and he shook it, flashing her a cute smile. Dannielle smiled back letting go of their hand even though she never wanted to in the end. "I'm a muggle-born Ravenclaw. I'm in the same year as you."
"Oh that's interesting" was all he said, but then Ron sat silent not knowing whether to apologize for the snarky remark or let it go. Dannielle didn't look hurt to Ron, so he didn't bother apologizing. But felt that it was right and his mother would give him a good kick in the backside if he didn't. "I'm sorry for the remark if it was too rude- It's very hard to be on the run." Dannielle took another sip from her drink shaking her hands.
"Oh no, no. That's okay! Yeah. I'm stuck with so many boys right now; the only girl with me is Lisa Turpin. She's a Ravenclaw," Dannielle said with a warm smile looking at Ron who turned to thank the bartender for the drink. "But yes, being on the run sucks!"
"I mean-" he paused to take a sip of his drink. "I understand that it's for our safety, but I do need to take a rest once in a while!" Dannielle laughed and nodded taking another sip finishing off her drink.
She didn't want another one, just something to clear her mind and now that Ron was with her she didn't need to drink, she just needed to talk. Ron darted his eyes across the room, checking for any death eaters in the room. None, good.
"How's the boy wonder?" she asked Ron about Harry. She always called him the boy wonder no matter what, he was 'the chosen one' and right now she sees why. She sees why everything has to end with Harry, because everything started with him. Ron coughed after drinking his drink and looked at her like she had just committed a murder. "How's Harry, how's he holding up?" she asked a second time but phased it better. Ron slowly nodded.
"Oh Harry? Yeah he's a bit under pressure but he's Harry Potter of course he's going to be under stress" but Ron didn't tell her she hadn't seen Harry for a couple of months. That he had walked out of his two other best friends and didn't listen to a word they said only to what he thought, taking his opinion first. "Did you know I was going to be here?" he asked the girl, she shook her head with a smile placed upon her face.
"No, just a sign of fate I suppose" Dannielle commented, she gave a small smirk towards the red headed boy. She was known to have a small crush on the boy, even sending him a card during the Valentine's Day they had in their second year at Hogwarts. She licked her lips and dangled her hand in the air. "So why are you here?"
"Gone for some fresh air, gone for a drink. What everyone does right? I'm pretty sure that's why you're out" Ron knew about her muggle-blood status, when Hermione wasn't with the trio she'd be with Dannielle. The two of them were close and they helped each other with their homework sometimes. Ron took another sip of his drink and Dannielle shrugged her shoulders.
"You could say that" she responded, not giving another word about why she was out of her hiding, but it wasn't like that they're Death Eaters in a muggle village, but they have been known to kill a few muggles. Dannielle smiled at Ron, she hadn't been this happy since her sixth year.
"Okay, so you enjoyed your Christmas?" Ron asked the girl, Dannielle nodded in delight remembering the gifts she got.
"Yeah, I got the usual girl things mostly jewellery. Loved it. What about you?" she asked Ron, the thing is Ron spent Christmas with his brother and sister-in-law. It was his first time not getting a jumper with his initial on it.
At first he was happy, but then it made him sad. He didn't get a jumper from his mother and it really is his favourite thing at Christmas time was getting his present from his mother, his maroon coloured jumper with a large 'R' in the middle. Even tho it felt like a daggy thing to wear or be seen it, it felt truly from the heart.
"I got my favourite jumper from my mum" lies but he could probably tell that Dannielle knew he was lying through his teeth. Dannielle took one last sigh and ran her fingers through her hair smiling at the boy in front of her. She felt around in her pocket and took out some muggle money; she put it in front of her on the counter and looked at it for a second. She rose to her feet but stood for a couple of seconds.
"Thank you for the talk Ronald Weasley, but I'm afraid I should leave" she gave the boy a warm smile, and for a split second Ron wanted nothing more than to be with someone for this frosty winter night. To be with someone and talk, and laugh, to see the light, and to see love. He wanted Dannielle as that person. His hand shot out to touch his and a blush was forming on the tip of her cheeks, she smiled to herself and looked to the floor not wanting anyone else to notice her reaction.
"Don't. Leave" Ron said in short breaths feeling the cold air dance across his skin. Dannielle waited for him to say that. "Please!" he pleaded; she bit her lip and sighed in a flutter of her heart she decided to stay. Spinning around, making her hair run with her she smiled at Ron, he smiled back.
"Of course Ron" that was the first time she called Ron by his nickname. He looked at her in surprise but warmed up to it. The pair still held hands as Dannielle sat back down in the warm seat, raising her knees to sit on the railing an inch underneath her seat she looked at the red headed boy and smiled, and laughed, and spoke to. For that was the night they shared a kiss under the moonlight and realised that it could be the start of a new and powerful relationship like no other.
