Seeing the girls
Seeing her brother was both relieving and scary for Aurora. She was angry at him for running away, but she could understand. She wasn't angry because she thought it was selfish, she was angry because now she was lonely. She had Reggie of course, but he was very different from Sirius. If Aurora ever felt sad, Sirius would distract her. Regulus would talk about it with her. Her relationship with Regulus relied on a lot of comfort talks and hugs. Whereas Sirius would rather avoid the problem.
As Aurora exited Sirius' compartment, she felt a bit guilty for ignoring the others. But she would deal with them later. She was more keen on finding the girls and asking them about their summer. She looked into compartments to find her friends, and she finally found them at the back. Aurora caught a glimpse of Lily's red hair, that shined even brighter because the sun was shining.
Aurora felt a bit embarrassed for wearing her dark clothes, because she knew the girls hated to see Aurora this way. They would never say it to Aurora, but she freaked them out sometimes. And especially when Aurora looked a lot like her family, like Bellatrix and her mother.
Aurora was about to open the door of their compartment when Marlene already flung it open.
"MERLIN AURORA WERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Marlene hugged Aurora and the girls stood up and hugged her as well.
"Sit Aurora, you look so thin. Have you been eating well? We haven't heard from you all summer?" Lily began asking all her questions and Aurora immediately felt at ease. She was home again.
Mary still had her arm around Aurora and quickly made her sit down. Mary was always so caring, even though Mary's home situation was a lot different from Aurora's, she never judged anyone.
Aurora looked at them all gratefully, "I'm so sorry for not reaching out to you all summer. I tried, but my mum caught my letter and since then she never let me use her owl again. And I have been eating, Lily. Things were just... you know."
They studied Aurora for a bit and Marlene laid her head on Aurora's lap. "We know about Sirius. We don't have to talk about it, but it's going to be okay."
Aurora looked at Marlene's face, laying in her lap, and she felt a weird feeling in her stomach. Marlene was so beautiful, inside and out. "Thank you Marls, I really appreciate that."
And after that they all began talking about their summers. Lily had been to France with her family, her sister now had a boyfriend who was a complete idiot. She started complaining about James sending her letters all summer, but Aurora couldn't help but notice Lily blushing a little. Marlene had been playing a lot of quidditch with her brother, and she also had been reading the daily prophet a lot since there was a war going on. And Mary also had a boyfriend now, who she had been doing a lot of stuff with last summer. Mary was always ahead of her friends, having done this and that. Aurora envied that, Mary was the definition of cool.
