Chapter 1
~~1976~~
Severus and Lily were arguing in the corridor outside of the Gryffindor Common Room, over what happened at the lake.
"Potter and Black are the ones in the wrong, Lily! Why can't you see that?! And I never meant to call you a Mudblood, it just-" Severus glared at her as tears threatened to swarm in his eyes.
Lily snapped back, "Slipped out? At least they don't use dark magic! It's too late. I've been making excuses for you for years. None of my friends understand why I even talk to you! You and your precious little Death Eater friends...You've chosen your way, I've chosen mine."
"You won't even listen to what I have to say! That's it, I give up with you. With friends like you, who needs enemies? Goodbye, Evans."
At that, he turned on his heel and stalked down the hallway towards the dungeons.
Lily called out, "Snape, wait! Come back! I didn't mean-"
Severus cut her off. "No, like you said, it's too late. None of the real friends I made in Slytherin, who treat me like family, understand why I talk to you either. I've defended you against my housemates all these years and you only stepped in at least once for me. If you won't listen to me, why should I listen to you?"
At these cold words, Lily shivered and curled in on herself. "What have I done?..."
He barely spared the girl a glace and replied in a cold, dead tone, "What you did was not ask any questions and let prejudice rule your judgement over years of friendship."
Liliana was then left standing alone in the hallway, numbed and in shock. She turned around and silently walked back into the common room and returned to her dorm.
The next day, Severus approached the Gryffindor table.
James immediately glared at him and brought his wand out. "What do you want, Snivellus?"
Much to everyone's shock, Severus answered, "Liliana Belle Mia Selwyn-Evans, I, Severus Snape, heir of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Prince, and descendant of Rowena Ravenclaw, Arthur and Merlin Emyrs-Pendragon, do hereby disown you as my best friend and sister in all but blood. So, I say, so mote be it. Like you told me, Evans," he spat her name out with unbridled hurt, anger, and venom. "you've chosen your way, and I've chosen mine. Goodbye, and never speak to me again unless completely unavoidable."
With the entire table staring at him in pale shock and slight fear, he returned to the Slytherin table, where his housemates bowed their heads in respect.
A few days later, Marvolo asked Severus out on a date to Hogsmeade, and he happily accepted. Following that, the two started dating and they were very happy together. On the other hand, the Slytherins were sighing in relief because they had been dancing around each other since third year.
~~1978~~
Graduation had just finished, and Severus was with Marvolo and their friends in the Slytherin common room, having just finished packing their trunks to return home. During Sev's fifth year, his parents passed away, leading Lucius and his father to take him in. The Slytherin crew, consisting of Bellatrix, Lucius, Evan, Marvolo, Narcissa, Rodolphus, Rabastan, and Severus, treated each other like family and siblings. They all were very protective of Severus and would literally fight anyone who made him cry.
Severus smiled at the faint rush of nostalgia, he and Marvolo had been dating for two years already. The previous night, he had a vision of his and Marv's future together:
Vision starts:
Severus and Marvolo were a couple years older than they were now; with Marv's hair reaching his shoulders and Sev's hair reaching his hips and they were standing next to each other, smiling. In front of them was a young girl, about four years old, with shoulder length black hair and bright, emerald green eyes. Marvolo had his left hand on Severus's shoulder and the other on the girl's shoulder. In Severus's arms, was a baby bundled in a pale turquoise blanket with a purple beanie and green pacifier. The baby also had green eyes and was staring at Marvolo sleepily. He faintly heard himself say to the older girl, "Nathara, promise to protect your baby sister to the best of your abilities."
The girl, Nathara, replied, "I promise, Mommy! I'll protect Snowbell with all my heart!"
Vision ends:
When he woke up, Severus couldn't believe that he and Marvolo end up married with children. Sev was excited to leave Hogwarts to get away from Potter and those blasted Marauders, but he was also looking forward to when the two of them actually got married.
That's why Severus was unprepared for Marvolo to kneel in front of him with a diamond ring. He brought a shaky hand up to his mouth as tears welled up in his eyes. "Severus, I've loved you for years. Now, I can't imagine a life with out you. Severus Snape, son of Xavier Snape and Ellison Prince, will you marry me?"
Severus barely thought about his answer before he answered, "YES!", leaping into Marvolo's arms. Once he felt the coolness of the ring slipping onto his left ring finger, Severus kissed his new fiancé to the cheers of all their friends.
