"What do you mean you dreamt of me?"
You and almost all of the unfortunate Wampus house beside Merula at the flying lesson eye the both of you before you manage to clamp a firm hand over Merula's mouth.
Which she promptly throws off.
"No, by all means, enunciate! I don't think I quite heard you." you hiss.
"Why in the fuck would you tell me that?"
"Making conversation?" you whisper-yell, the grin suddenly cracking your face open, betraying you.
"Shh, Hooch!" Rowan manages to warn you as the particularly blunt end of the broom hits them squarely on the nose. You busy yourself with focusing on taming your broom well enough for it to trudge along the air towards your palm.
You can still feel Merula's suspicious gaze on your shoulders.
(And, you know what? If she really hated you as much as she claimed maybe she should find another place that isn't, say, right next to you).
You try your hardest to suppress that traitorous grin.
After the lesson is over, you're just comforting Rowan (they're black and blue and exhausted) when Merula catches your eye.
You wait for her to reach you.
She does, of course, exactly seven minutes later.
(Youre not counting, of course not).
"Yes?" you ask patiently.
"What-" Merula hastily clears her throat and looks sideways at you, "What did you dream of?"
You shrug nonchalantly. "I dream of you a lot, actually."
"What?!"
"What?" you widen your eyes mockingly. "Whatever could you be imagining, Snyde?"
When she goes red in the face, you duck smoothly to avoid a punch and burst into jittery laughter.
This, is the best.
