He thinks that today, time is the most generous of lovers and the most hateful of enemies.
Selfish and selfless, fatally hopeful.
Time allows him each precious minute to look at this woman. Beauty itself has blessed the cathedral, and all he can do is commit every second to memory. His eyes are unseeing, gazing with feigned nonchalance up at the sight before him. Soft chocolate meets emptiness in this moment, and, for a single breath, he is glass.
Precision in his sharp smile, blood already drawn as he walks along the jagged path of sanity. He forgets, though.
Glass can shatter.
